Wesley Clark: It doesn't take too much to fully understand your point. My respects to you, sir. Andrea: You must be following a script. I can't believe your line of questioning, in fact, I don't believe that YOU believe it.
Really when did McCain say "vote for me because I was a P.O.W."? It doesn't mater if Obama isn't running on a military platform (which McCain clearly is not), what Clark said was innapropriate.
It's so funny how Clark talks about himself. "I did this, I did that, look at the stuff I did, so I can critize a P.O.W. for his experience because I was a General". What is his deal?
Because if he was just some schmuck off the street he would have no right to say the things he does. Clark has experience in the military and understands what is and is not a valid qualification for president in terms of military service.
In times of war, McCain would be calling Clark sir. He has way more experience and knows what he's talking about.
Being a General doesn't give you the "right" to call a P.O.W. (something Clark has never been) untested and untried. It doesn't matter what Clark's rank was, his comments were inappropriate.
Please re-listen very closely to what he's saying because you obviously haven't. He said he is "untested and untried" as far as executive experience goes. Totally different thing and yes he or anyone else has every right to criticize anybody when it comes to this. He's not running for president of the local corner store, he's running for the highest office in the land and it should be occupied by the most qualified person
I think republicans just can't understand the concept or meaning of the word "qualifications"
He never said McCain wasn't a brave soldier. He just said that getting shot down or spending time in a prison camp is not a qualification for being president. If that were the case then there are a bunch of inmates right now in federal prisons who've been there for 30+ years who should be considered for president.
John McCain never stated "that being shot down qualifies me to be president". He never said it. However showing courage for 5 years a P.O.W. is a 'quality' I would like to see in a president. at least a better 'quality' than no experience at all.
You obviously don't understand politics at all then. Just because he never said the exact phrase doesn't mean he hasn't been spouting it off all along. And what's worse is that when anyone criticizes him in the slightest, they just fall back on "OMG how can you not honour a war vet".
Gen. Wesley Clark was shot 4 times in Vietnam. The first time I ever heard about it was only in the last week. Getting shot is not a qualification for any office. John McCain is just looking for sympathy.
Oh really, when has McCain spouted off anything close to "I'm qualified to be president because of my P.O.W. status", I don't remember ever hearing McCain looking for sympathy. You and Wesley Clark don't understand politics, or you would have never played into these innapropriate comments, which is why Clark just lost his VP slot. (hmmm, really smart politics by criticizing a former P.O.W. for 'experience')
What the hell did that "blogger" have anything to do with? As if there was some "coordinated" attack between Clark and some utterly random, unknown blogger dude with a computer? The level of awful journalism on this issue has been astounding, and Andrea Mitchell falls right in line. She should just shrivel up next to her crypt keeper husband and fade away into obscurity. I'm sure she was just trying to be "Russert-like" though...just enough to get another look for the job. Loser.
Her behavior in this clip is incredibly unprofessional. She apparently LOVES to use the Fox-like strategy of "Some people say" so she can repeat awful rumors and try to make Wesley Clark look like a villan.
"We were going to talk about Iraq.." yeah too bad you wasted your precious advertising time on this well choreographed circus masquerading as a political discussion.
The only organized campaign is the one being run against Obama and Clark. Why can't people see this farce for what it is? Why is the media allowed to present arguments on this level (one fit for imbeciles who need to be herded into mass opinions)?? Why don't the American people show their intelligence by rejecting this COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT debate?
Mitchell married her second husband, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, in 1997. Her husband, first appointed Chairman in August 1987 by President Ronald Reagan, retired in 2006.
Mitchell was an original recipient of the leak of Valerie Plame's identity led to her being questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the case. Mitchell never appeared before the grand jury in the indictment or in the trial of Lewis Libby, she was on the subpoena list as a person of interest.
I really don't get liberal/prog blogs like CandL. Why are they trying to protect Clark? Because he is a Democrat? This man headed NATO for gods sake. There aren't many progressive Dems, and Clark certainly isn't one of them.
WTF does crashing have to do with leading the Republickin Party to the White House?
Oh wait...Bush..forget that question.
I find it SO transparent and disgusting how the media LIES and obfuscated the FACTS from the dimmer parts of the Amerikan public. THIS guy is the type of person you people SHOULD be getting behind. He tells the truth and doesn't fudge or twist the facts when the "Machinery of the Right" leans on him.
I being sarcastic by pointing out to what degree McCains military experience would benefit this country.
We've been fed all kinds of hero crap about him but he served 20 hours in combat, total!
I respect everyones military service but that doesn't make a hero, nor a president. And he had crashed 4 other jets prior to being shot down in combat. The other four he crashed in the states at air shows, training missions, etc..
hmmmm being on the Senate Armed Forces Committee, a senator since 1982, visiting Iraq, being a War Hero himself doesn't count as "experience", what about the surge in troops Iraq, which even Democrats has deemed successful. "not greater than Obama's" who has only been a Senator for a few years, give me a break.
Obama is a joke: Abraham Lincoln was not a military man yet he guided the northern nation through the most difficult times in history.

Also Clark doesn't have experience as a U.S. Senator, something that McCain does have.

she does drag things on, and i disagree with her approach, but she does ask some valid questions. but Clark was able to be as honest as possible.

Let's take what you said at face value..
Being the Senate Armed Force Committee is only legislative oversight of the military.. not control of it. That's not counter terrorism experience.
Being in the senate.. still not 'counter-terrorism experience'
Being a War Hero.. That's questionable, but that doesn't mean you know how to fight terrorist.
Learn to read the entire message before commenting. I didn't say he had 'no' experience.. just none for one purpose.
