first time hearing this an I frigging love it! I was to young to appreciate tunes like this back in 1982, I was only 12 at the time. Old school music has become this fulfilling addicting journey for me, I get so excited when I discover these hidden treasures.
Another cool tune. A sad shame that so many of our young people today are not exposed to this type of cool, soothing music. Gangsta rap can't hold a candle to these smile generating tunes.
another classic Lester Brown production......flawless, timeless, priceless.................the 2 non believers who dont like this have no hope.....at all
Hey Urban Music Fans we just added this one to rotation on the New KLSL LIQUID SOUL - Seattle, Tacoma And The World it's the Number 1 Internet Radio station in the Pacific Northwest...klsljamz.com
Great vocals and a super instrumental blend makes this song a SUPER MASTERPIECE ! Ever since I discovered this song on YOU/TUBE , I play it all of the time. This is one of those rare songs that you never get tired of listening to. I love this song ! It has the right KHEMISTRY !!
This is on my top 10 dance tracks of all time. Get those female backing vocals. I can baby! Could someone please open a club in Lancaster (UK) where I could go out dancing to stuff like this please? Thanks. Signed, me and a thousands others.
Colin Curtis and Andy Peebles where the no 1 Soul Brothers in manchester 76 onwards ,,,,,mike shaft had the Hat......but never had what those guys had
I was one of the djs that opened legends and went to work in Birmingham early 1982 when this was a happening track.....my last night at the club was the first alnighter there ...playing alongside Colin...he was my idol in those days ...i remember "Beat the street" being the hot tune at the time and mike shaft using two copies to do his remix ....and he took 15 minutes out of my set time ...so I just blew him away because I had THE brand new remix on Prelude ...
@zorenofzennor got to say birmingham/ midlands was a great place for soul with some well keyed in people - where was that club - Chaplins ? what a place - went there with a few of the manchester crowd
..I said to the crowd well there you go thats mikes remix ...but this IS the remix ...and the crowd went mental........colin came up and said ...where did you get that from ..and i told him groove records in london....he was well impressed...those where the days
@sewitt60 If you find where it's gone and still live in Manchester, let me know, because I live in Lancaster and can never never ever go out and dance to this!
@sewitt60 it's all here on Youtube for us to enjoy and wallow in good memories...i too am from Manchester and my formative years were spent recording tunes off TCOB with Mike Shaft :)

PORT: Este ritmo matava minhas "dores de cotovelo de adolescente", lá pelos meus 17 anos... Hoje, ainda desentoxica do stress do dia-a-dia.
ENGL: This kind of rhythm was a sadness-killer for me, when I was 17... Today it still washes out any stress.

and Hewan later : what a scene from the Ritz all-dayers - Rafters, Rufus , Playpen , Berlin !
Mike was great for some good basic stuff but Colin had that eclectic touch - the old Northern Soulie

What kind of flute or instrument was that playing frequently throughout the beginning?
pretearking 2 years ago
@pretearking It sounds like a Prophet 5 synth set on some square wave setting. Heard a lot back then on RnB records.
