Idols are idols because of the image the sell of themselves. Most idols cant sing that well and would never make it if they relied on singing. Thus their personal lives are all important as it is this image they are selling.
Well they really showed their love for eachother here. This is the sweetest thing I know about being a teenager! :D Aww they looked really cute tho. It's just.... a stupid thing that they can't date and you're never too young to love or fall in love. And being a celebrity and having lots of stupid fans... shouldn't stop you. I used to think the "no boyfriends" rule was unnecessary, but then I started seeing things in a different POV. Think about it- Miley gave someone a lap dance at 16, Jamie Spears pregnant at 16, Miley pole dancing, Lindsay Lohan etc. And there are MANY other child stars that get messed up because their companies/parents aren't strict enough. So it might seem "mean" for us Westerners, but these kids are going to be disiplined, mature and responsible adults unlike child stars here...

Also a teenage child star who "falls in love" could end up like Jamie Lynn spears getting pregnant or Miley cyrus having different boyfriends all the time. They have rules to protect both the girls/young women and their image. @yosoccerboy It's not just H!P's rule. The entire idol industry is based on the idea of an idol forming an emotional bond with her fans -- they are devoted to her and she is devoted to them. It keeps the fans buying merchandise even when the merchandise sucks.
If a boyfriend enters the picture, then the idol is obviously no longer devoted to her fans, the bond is broken, and the fans stop buying the merchandise.
Of course it's all very mercenary, but business is business.

there are pictures on google of miyabi wearing that same hat that says "rock" and wearing the same polka-dat jacket, and you can CLEARLY see her face. but all-in-all, it doesn't really matter anymore because this was, what- 2 years ago? @yosoccerboy It's not just H!P's rule. The entire idol industry is based on the idea of an idol forming an emotional bond with her fans -- they are devoted to her and she is devoted to them. It keeps the fans buying merchandise even when the merchandise sucks.
If a boyfriend enters the picture, then the idol is obviously no longer devoted to her fans, the bond is broken, and the fans stop buying the merchandise.
Of course it's all very mercenary, but business is business.

Asians are really serious about relationships and adults think that if you're not an adult yet then you shouldn't be dating. and to consider whether you're an adult yet, it really just depends on who the person is. its ashame that japan expects its j pop stars to stay single. Who cares if the model has a boyfriend or not. But the reason they do it is for marketing. Japan knows that men like innocent young girls, therefore they prohibit relations as a requirement while under contract. Its a psychological advertisment so men buy their albums.Kinda sick really.
