Hi,this looked a little slow compared to some other vids.was that on purpose.The second set in the ring looked quite a lot faster and more flowing.

Do you normally sit in such low stances when sparring and do these stances offer any advantage over more upright stances(I used to do shotokan karate which uses deep stances for trainning and kata but they went out the door when sparring).

@jadekayak01 it's actually quite fast. Doing it and watching it are different things. (Try it!)

Why low stance compared to 2 handed sword arts? when dual wielding 2 swords, you can get cut in the legs. Lower Stance = better at blocking upper and lower parts.

2 handed (longer) sword usually does not target the leg, that's why they tend to stand higher.

@jadekayak01 You should try finding traditional Muay Thai gym. usually the Muay (unarmed) and the Thai weapons art go together. or at least you can ask around, they should know.

Why traditional? some places offer Muay Thai for sports or MMA purposes, and their instructors do not have sufficient training for Krabi Krabong, but you never know. So ask around, and good luck.

They have very good footwork, and consistency, good blocking too. Other then that, their swings and hits are repetitive and only a few break out of the series to "surprise the opponent". Enduring against light blows and dealing no heavy ones yourself, you are liable to be overwhelmed against a stronger, not faster opponent.

Too many needles actions, and concentration on styles instead on defeating and killing your opponent. Good for movies tho.

It 's not related to Philippines at all. We,Thai people practice those killing technique for protecting the country since ancient.And If i remember it correct.The first country that came to Thailand(Siam) was Portugal.But Krabi Krabong practicing is far more older than that.
