I was introduced to this composition back in the 80's when a wonderful chap called Edd who was professional musician, taught me how to play the trumpet this piece in particular, It has brought back some wonderful memories of those happy times and your pictures have amplified the emotion. When i was about 12, my family and I went to a holiday park just outside of Blackpool, where they played this song before cabaret acts etc.

My nana loved it so much she would put up with the terrible acts afterwards just to hear it. We spent months looking for it on disc. Eventually we found it for her, but not long after she passed away.

For her funeral there was no other song we could have chosen.

Miss you so much nana, hope were you are now this song is playing.xxx

Been back here listening to this again - cant keep away it seems! Misstextalots comment made me smile - my daughter used to ice skate - why on earth we never thought about using this music for her skating programme I will never know as it would have been perfect! And yes, food for thought after hearing it being used at your mums funeral, not that Im planning mine just yet!

Hearing this music has brought back so many memories for me. It used to be played every night before the main cabaret in the SS Berengaria at Pontins Middleton Towers, Morecambe. Spent ages tracking it down as its such a haunting tune that really gets to you when you hear it over and over. Sadly Pontins at Morecambe has been demolished but listening to this video has brought back some great memories of happy holidaysfor me , so thank you!

This is such a beautiful piece of music. I do have this on one of General Lafayette's albums. There are some very beautiful pieces of music in this world and this rates amongst the top of them. It's beauty covers all moods from happy,sad, relaxed and in between.

This is probably the most sweetful, lovable, soothing, beautiful (as someone said) song I'll have ever heard in my life time. It's a sad one also because it reminds me of my dear older sister who passed away at the beginning of 2008 and whom I was extremely close to.
