I asked the general 2 play at my wedding as he playes as beutiful as my wife was he couldnt do it but each time i hear him play it reminds me wat ive lost
I was introduced to this composition back in the 80's when a wonderful chap called Edd who was professional musician, taught me how to play the trumpet this piece in particular, It has brought back some wonderful memories of those happy times and your pictures have amplified the emotion. Thank you very much for sharing this.
Love his music.. Hunted the net to buy his CD.. Also love @The girl who couldn't find love' by him as well.. I still listened to yours.. Thanks for putting it on here.. Great Video too.. suits the music.
When i was about 12, my family and I went to a holiday park just outside of Blackpool, where they played this song before cabaret acts etc.
My nana loved it so much she would put up with the terrible acts afterwards just to hear it. We spent months looking for it on disc. Eventually we found it for her, but not long after she passed away.
For her funeral there was no other song we could have chosen.
Miss you so much nana, hope were you are now this song is playing.xxx
My father has just said he would like this played at his funeral...after he asked for it....and so I sent it to him as a birthday present...I am in tears...
I love this piece of music so much. It is so classy and dreamy. I'd love to be able to play this on the piano. I love the trumpet, drums and piano. This mix is delightful.
Heard this in the late 80s working in the middle of Wales building a house on a mountain ,going through a bad time ,loved it so much,.but it makes you so sad .Still cant stop playing it !
I love this. First heard it on coach trip to Scotland. When I found out who it was I went out and bought the CD with it on. Love the accompanying video
Roberto Danova, the composer of Angel in blue sends his regards and the compliments for the fantastic video you have created. Roberto has also produced TU PER ME an Italian Pop ballad performed by La Voce Del Nord. I am sendintg you the video of Tu Per Me composed by Angelo Camassa
Been back here listening to this again - cant keep away it seems! Misstextalots comment made me smile - my daughter used to ice skate - why on earth we never thought about using this music for her skating programme I will never know as it would have been perfect! And yes, food for thought after hearing it being used at your mums funeral, not that Im planning mine just yet!
For great ice skating music videos check out Roberto Danova's (the writer of Angel in Blue) original productionof 'The Phantom of the Opera on Ice' (with the Russina ice stars) here on You Tube.
The songs sung by rising young Lanacashire singer Victor Michael are particularly good.
Hearing this music has brought back so many memories for me. It used to be played every night before the main cabaret in the SS Berengaria at Pontins Middleton Towers, Morecambe. Spent ages tracking it down as its such a haunting tune that really gets to you when you hear it over and over. Sadly Pontins at Morecambe has been demolished but listening to this video has brought back some great memories of happy holidaysfor me , so thank you!
Oh, can just repeat this beautiful music over and over again. Nothing like chill out time! Forth Road Bridge looks fantastic as does the magic of beautiful photography.
i love this piece i first heard it at pontins hemsby great yarmouth and spent the next year or so searching for it, i eventually found it and put it in my free program ( i used to do artistic roller skating) i had many lovely comments about it 5 years ago my mam sadly passed away and she wanted this music at the crem, i would like it played at mine too
what a beautiful piece of music it reminds me of courting my lovely wife 25 years ago and still going strong . the long lonely hours in my truck listening to thegeneral over and over
This is such a beautiful piece of music. I do have this on one of General Lafayette's albums. There are some very beautiful pieces of music in this world and this rates amongst the top of them. It's beauty covers all moods from happy, sad, relaxed and in between.
Thank you for putting this wonderful music on You Tube along with a lovely slide show and bringing pleasure to all those who listen to it
This is probably the most sweetful, lovable, soothing, beautiful (as someone said) song I'll have ever heard in my life time. It's a sad one also because it reminds me of my dear older sister who passed away at the beginning of 2008 and whom I was extremely close to. But, nevertheless, this has, and always will be, a classic melody to me. Thank you so much 717007 for posting, didn't think anyone would do so on here.
General Lafayette is the creation of composer, arranger and producer Roberto Danova whose prolific song writing has resulted in over 80 Lafayette recordings. The magic sound of a real trumpet is backed by digital and live orchestration and arranged in a contemporary style with a most distinctive touch. The heady pulse of this romantic music is exciting and beautifully simple and evokes a feeling of well-being.
We used to go to St Mary's bay Pontins in Brixham and this was always played before the introduction of the late night cabaret, it's taken from the album Love Is A Rhapsody, brings back memories of summers when the sun actually used to make an appearance.
if you are looking to purchase this cd, then warner holidays hotel, sinah warren in hampshire used to play it before the entertainments team started the eveining show you can call the gift shop and ask if they still have it in stock. I know this cos I used to work their as a manager. good luck tel - 02392 466 421.
I've been inspired to learn the trumpet simply by listening to Martin Drover(General Lafayette). Anybody out there know if he's got a fan club, or what he's doing these days.I'd love to hear him playing live.If your out there somewhere Martin maybe you'd let me know about yourself. Cabtone..a big fan!!
Just wonderful. I have searched for this tune for many years. I waited 4 years from Amazon for CD - still waiting. It brings back many good memories, and a few sad ones from days gone by. Thanks so much for rekindling this for me.
