  • I never understood why Elvis acted in such crappy movies. I know I know, the whole Col. Parker thing. But it was Elvis saying yes and no. At this point Elvis was just trying to finish his contract and get out of Hollywood. He could of actually been a really good actor. It's a shame. He should of taken the part for A Star is Born, but I'm sure Elvis knew it was time to stop. Either way, A Star is Born was a huge hit,and Elvis concentrated on his singing and live shows again. Probably killed him

  • @brodemonz Elvis was a great actor, but he always had the terrible movie roles..every Elvis fan know that he could be better than that..Change of habit is me favorite because it is a movie about Faith, and he was a Believer :)

  • Elvis at 2:03 appears to have an uncontrollable smile,as if he's looking at a loved one.Was Priscilla in the church congregation? Its almost the same look when his parents were in the audience scene in :Loving You". RIP,Elvis.

  • I love this song !! <3

  • Happy Easter

  • Is this the offertory? if so, those nuns are late for Mass. If it's the Entrance, then those people need to be on their feet!

  • I love Elvis forever.

  • ELVIS PRESLEY YOU ARE AMAZING!!

  • This is pretty good. Elvis really in his prime at 33-34 years of age. Good, solid song, catchy as all hell. Thanks for posting. Good memories of a pretty decent movie.

  • elvis grew up assembly of God but was rebaptized in Jesus name and became a oneness pentecostal

  • He was happy because he was banging mary tyler moore!

  • Sunday i be singning this song at church

  • i love this song and movie brings back alot of memories this was my child hood that i will never have back i love life and good movies but these days movies will never be the same as they were god bless this world

  • I love Elvis, but this is pathetic. As a traditional Catholic it perturbs me to see the sacred mass, especially the old rite, all butchered. Ironic -1969, when the Church destroyed its beautiful liturgy. I don't blame Elvis of course. I blame my own Church which allowed this to happen.

  • @MrLamontSanford This is actually not an accurate portrayal of the Pauline Mass. If the sisters are entering the church @ that point, it would have been the Entrance Rite, and they should have been standing.

Both the Extraordinary Form and the present Ordinary Form are the Mass, and as such, bring us the Body and Blood of Jesus. 'Nuff said.

  • @loriloristuff Well you are both right and wrong. The 'Pauline' mass SHOULD not have this crap, but often does -contrary to rubrics. It is done well and correctly on EWTN.

  • Wearing a Cross, a Crucifix or a Star of David, will do nothing to get anyone into heaven. Repentance and following Jesus is the only key. I love a lot of Elvis's music, and I am grateful that he sang gospel. He was raised in the church and knew the truth. Weather or not he followed the true path is something only Jesus knows.

  • Help me

  • 27 IDIOT DISLIKE THIS AWESOME VIDEO!

  • This was the best movie I ever saw him in and yeah saw them all. This was the best he ever ever looked too. Adored the man.

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVE this song

  • The final fade out of this scene is kind of sad knowing that this is Elvis' last film, plus he had only 8 more years to live. God bless Elvis Presley. Long live the King.

  • This is not your typical Elvis movie,

Times were changing and so was Elvis.

It is one of his best roles.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • awesome , always been one of my favorite movie endings.

  • mary tyler moore keeps lookin at crusifixs and crosses is she tryin equate elvis as jesus or what cuzz that is a dam joke he couldnt even take a shit, lol

  • @MrImsokewl The Director of the movie wanted her to seem to be at odds as to whether she would stay with the church or leave being a nun and possibly marry him.

  • Mr wipe, I look at your page, a true person that believes in God would never say anything in that nature. To me that a mean spirited comment

  • When he sings gospel you feel his faith just come and it so lovely when he sings gospel

  • Elvis was the greatest singer of the 20th Century, excelling in every genre of music: rock, country, blues, gospel, or romantic ballads; his voice was velvet thunder. His phenomenal looks, style and charisma made the guy complete. His music in the 1950s began breaking down the walls of segregation, introducing white America to blues and gospel. His role in the evolution of American and global popular culture is colossal. John Lennon said "Before Elvis, there was nothing." Elvis is the king!!

  • i soo wished every man looked and was incredible like mr. king of ROCK!!!

  • This was not the beginning of the Mass, but THE BEGINNING OF THE MESS.

  • I can only hope that in their day they were so naive as to think this sort of thing was "helping" the Catholic church. But in retrospect, what a bunch of d-bags.

  • this is sick...

  • what a horrible mockery of the true Latin Mass of all times. I notice that the priest in the clip appears to be still saying the Tridentine Rite, the only True Mass. It shows clearly the "unbelief" of the True Presence and mockery of Catholics in 1970. Leave it to the usual suspects who put out this movie to put it to film. Elvis should have known better if he truly respected "all religions" including Catholicism.

  • At least the women (most of them) are wearing mantillas.

It's sad to see the end of the TLM. This is where the Catholic Church started going downhill, folks!

Pray for the end of the Novus Ordo Mass and the restoration of our Latin Mass!

  • @Zwei4815 Sorry Zwei the Catholic Church started going downhill in the year 1AD and it is certainly not Elvis's fault that all Catholic priests have sex with choir boys.

  • @ktwheels44 no different than you fucking your uncle! Dork!

  • @dewaynecullen Love it well said.!!

  • i sooo wish mr. freaking elvis presley was in this semi fucked up world together...but memories will do...ps daddy this song is for u!!!RIP ELVIS ANBD DADDY

  • Great song. Good movie too!

  • Love the light blue eye shadow on the nun, Mary Tyler Moore. I got to see this movie when I was 8. It would be the only Elvis film that I got to see during the its first run. Such a corny movie, but oh so much fun!

  • a very good song ..... I like it

  • God is great, thank you for giving Elvis such talent. Great Catholic tribute.

  • great song

  • miss your voice and charsma elvis..you are still loved!!!

  • this ending is sooo wrong..damm girl you can have elvis and the lord!!! the movie and elvis are amazing...i truly miss the king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ELVIS THE KING love it

  • id choose the lord.even thos im a massive elvis fan

  • Who would you pick? I know who'd l'd pick, sorry GOD:)

  • elvis you will never leave my memory...

  • what a great song to close out his film era

  • This is one of the better films, it shows Elvis could act, as with King Creole, Charro. Elvis number 1 forever.

  • God bless every one kev,

  • Elvis said there is 1 King...The Lord Jesus Christ!

  • what's with the tempo in all these videos? it's always faster than it should be...

  • Ver Very Nice, This song and movie have always been favorites of mine. I look forward to sharing music with you. I'm Listening.....The Captain.......

  • great ! this scene was filmed at a real church in Los Angeles !

  • cool video.

  • Elvis the king forever.

  • great song

  • most gifted missed man ever...and soo beatiful looking..god's gift to the world!!!!!!!!!!

  • elvis what a legend

  • God blessed Elvis for us to have him and his songs. I love elvis songs and him much

  • CHE MERAVIGLIA!!!

  • its ironic that elvis left the movies because they were to unrealistic while the last movie he done was the most realistic of them all-change of habit.

  • The Jordanaires are an American singing group formed in 1948 best known for backing many of Elvis Presley's recordings, along with working with many prominent country stars. They could sing.

  • Que Homem....

  • THE KING........

  • I love Elvis! ♥

  • This is one of my most fave Elvis songs and movies.... it is so fun to sing too... God Bless you Elvis and Happy 75th Birthday today.. you will live forever always!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Horizon123, thanks' for sharing! I've always loved this scene, this was one of Elvis's last movies, but for some reason they rarely air it.

And to LAURIE TAYLOR, <3, we'd once went to midnight mass together on xmas eve some time back, so in honor of this past christmas, circumstances being what they are, thought that I'd dedicate this song to you to make up for all the lost time. In viewing it " just pretend " that we are there and living in the moment. My luv for you will live on 4ever.<3

  • The 3 coloured girl trio are the same as in the 68 special.

  • alright!

    Elvis is a legend!

    and

    Michael is a legend!

but this is Elvis and Not Michael

so...Talk to elvis and not to michael!! ;)

    R.I.P

  • I love this song, Let us Pray, wonderful inspiring song, WOW, Elvis gives it life!

  • a quality song and movie very under rated showed elvis could be a serious actor

  • micheal jackson a legend in your own mind

  • is that mary tyler moore

  • Another very great song by the king...:o)

  • U got to know that many black artists themselves admitted that they were the one s who imitated wat elvis did on stage the only thing was he had a freakin good voice..... everyone admits tht.........

  • Awesome 5***** Must Favorite ! E

  • one of my favorite elvis movies and one of my favorite films ever.this was elvis last acting role he wanted to concentrait on concerts and had enough of hollywood and the bad roles he had gotten..he would go on to make two concert movies.i think it was one of his best acting roles too bad the colonel would not let elvis choose his roles he could have been a great actor.striesand wanted him for a star is born but the damb colonel interfered could have turned elvis life around.

  • The movie that could have turned Elvis's life around was Midnight Cowboy, but the Colonel, NBC Productions, and Universal (now know as NBC Universal-isn't that ironic?) conspired to put him in this thing instead.

  • @Neville6000 true,i do think this one of his best acting roles.he would have been great in midnight cowboy.rumors also that john wayne who was a friend of elvis wanted him in the glen cambell role in true grit but the colonel had to get his way.he didnt want elvis in a costaring role just like he made elvis turn down a star is born.

  • @savammy: So Elvis was cheated out of not one but TWO great movies in which to appear? God, how I hate Parker now even more! I swear by God, I wish there was a way to go back in time and replace Parker with Allen Klein or some other better agent/manager.

  • @Neville6000 Yeah...this movie is aight, but he did THIS instead of A STAR IS BORN? Elvis thought the Colonel made him who he was...but all Parker did was destroy the man to make a buck.

  • hea elvis tell vern gosden and gram parsons , lisa says hea

  • Elvis looks so damned good...fit and healthy. Yet, in less than ten years he would no longer be with us. [in person, that is]

  • Vaya mezcla religiosa : monjas, coros gospel, procesión católica, bailoteos al estilo evangélico, el rey del rock and roll...

Ya lo dice el cura : " The lord´s misterious ways... !

  • This is trippy!!

  • Hey 56 stuffy ... You got no respect. You should shut your ignorant ass and gives us all a break. Better to be silent and thought a fool, than speak out and remove all doubt!

  • Yes, and I think you removed no doubt. You can tell someone they're wrong without being rude you know.

  • To me, I think the Presley song "crying in the chapel" pretty much sums up my feelings about this. LOL!

  • Tremendous clip -great song from a great movie--thanks

  • Baptist revival, at a Roman Catholic Mass...LOL!

  • Revivals are common at Roman Catholic Masses.

  • Common? Maybe it came up in some places, letting that in was a mistake, and its being phased out.

This clip is so weird, elements of the past, the veils, the priest facing the altar, etc. but then electric guitars and dancing. 1969...

  • Revivals are common in black Catholics churches in the south, mostly louisiana.

The priest no longer faces the altar, he faces the audience now. This is been the case for over 30 years already.

  • What did I say that made you think I don't know the priest faces the people?

By the way the prist still does face the altar usually because the altar has been turned towards the people.

Anyway if you look at what I wrote I was saying how this clip showed an interesting mix of old an new.

Being 23 I obviously am obviously more aware of things in the last 30 years than you seem to think.

I don't see why "Black" Catholic Churches have a diffrent style of liturgy in the South?

  • The service is basically the same. The black parishioners just added the revival into it. Every chance i'm in louisiana, I try to attend these revivals. U can feel the presence of God more than at a church that doesn't have revivals.

  • He never in my mind looked happier!

    Huge Elvis fan

    Mark

  • Geloven in een held met zijn gitaar en zang .Die laat zien dat het ook anders kan,in deze clip vol overgaven.Dit kan geen ander mens hem naar doen. Alleen maar volgen,en begrip hebben voor de inhoud.

  • elvis at his best.

  • he looks so happy cause it was his last movie , this was actually a good movie, his other movies are ok but he is the KING!

  • i love this

  • If they play songs as this in our churche I would go to the churche

    It´s great Thanks

  • if i was half as goodlooking aselvis id be a happy man must have had them ladies at his feet . didnt live as long as he should have but i bet he had some fun !!!!

  • Hi simongood3. Don`t kid yourself. Women don`t change. Money is more important to them.

  • I loved the fact that he issinging at a Catholic Mass. I totally love being Catholic, and feel this is a great tribute to the Lord.

  • Mary Tyler Moore was hot!!!

  • Nuns in make up LOL

  • Pese a quien pese Elvis siempre sera el rey¡¡

  • Thoooooose mysteroius ways..Elvis will always be the KING!...

  • Elvis ist still THE KING!!!

  • You´re right man^^

  • Hi Norge250. I think Michael Jackson was brilliant. But saying E is a cover artist is pushing it a bit !

  • I love this movie!

  • i think this is one of his best movies too bad it was his final acting role his last two movies are concert documentaries.he finaly started get better scripts in 68 and 69

  • i love JESUS! i love ELVIS!

  • I think jesus sucks but elvis is god...

  • Jesus died for you! Why do you say Jesus sucks? Would you die for someone?

  • Hi Perho92. You`re gonna have a lot of lines to write when you peg it, pal ! ( peg it ? - kick the bucket, die.... )

  • NO NO my friend. Never say Jesus sucks. Jesus is God, not Elvis. I like Elvis too but he's not God. Elvis was a devout baptist and would be horrified at your comment.

  • God bless Elvis.I love Elvis

  • let god save you and take you home one day and amen

  • love this video play it lot ty elvis will always be best and king

  • Elvis is the greatest entertainer that ever lived. I'm 43 and a fan since i was 6.

  • i love this song, and he looks so beautiful,

  • i dont know what her problem was.....id have followed him to the ends of the earth

  • My Kind of Church 0;-}

  • Loved this song - movie not too good but anything with Elvis in for me is simply great - pure gold.

  • E hated the movies he was forced to act in. He knew they were crap and so did that bastard hall wallis and col tom parker. i believe one of the major reasons E decided to escape in script abuse. the 68 comeback he cleaned up his act and had high hopes to tour and then make a real movie. E was a very complex person in many ways. r.i.p E i will see you soon!

  • Priscilla obviously doesn't care if she sees Elvis again. I know Elvis studied a lot of different religions but he was a Christian in his heart. I hope Lisa realizes that Jesus is the only way before it's too late. God Bless Elvis

  • yeah, unfortunately Lisa got caught up in that scientology BS. Yes, she should seek Jesus.

  • I heard Elvis actually accepted Jesus as Lord and Savoir when he was eight years old, singing in church gospel choir. Has anyone out there heard this story? Let us know.

  • Yes, according to pris, he wanted at one time to become a preacher.

  • I saw this when I was a kid and loved it. That song is dynamite. By the way, Mary Tyler Moore says that Elvis always wooed and ended up bedding his female co-star in his movies except;one; guess which one?

  • What's so curious about this clip is that Elvis is in a suit and tie. I don't recall any other time in movies seeing him in one.

Great song and it's decision time for Mary Tyler Moore's character ! Of course, she picks ....

  • what about all movies from the sixties?????

  • WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT?! watch some of them you nonce

  • he appeared in a suit and tie in many of his movies

  • my favorite movie

  • Fantastic ,thanks steve for the share 5*****

  • Excellent 5 *****

    Thank Steve for sharing

  • HElvis had the goodness , kindness of a thousand religious beliefs and put it into practice! t claiming to be a Christian or whatever you belong to and do everything that is evil .... As for stuff like kabala, sciientology...even to a person like myself these are horifying cults.. These are destructive with all people who manuplate another. Pricilla has a lot to answer for other than taking Lisa into that cult, Elvis hated and where all is money goes.

  • Priscilla is in Scientology? I haven´t knew this before. Poor Elvis.

  • Elvis was only a good Christian but also a good human being. I am no religious person and just believe there is a God but when I listen to him sing I can feel a very powerful force take over me...Cant understand maybe in time...but I can say with full conviction Elvis was a man of very strong connection to God. ...You can feel it...sense it ...see it!

  • one his best videos play it lot ty he look great this one

  • THIS was elvis,s last movie loved it very good100*

  • So you clowns are saying what, John Paul II wouldn't have dug Elvis? Or the current Benedict? That's just bullshit. Jesus, Mary, Elvis, right on. Pray together, baby!

  • Just one more thing,

Someone mentioned that Elvis recorded two Catholic themed songs, one being Let Us Pray. The other is called "Miracle of the Rosary" which he recorded in 1971.

An interesting story concerning Elvis and this song may be read here: anelvisfan2001(DOT)com/miracleoftherosary(DOT)html

  • My previous posts were not a knock against the movie. Although I disagree with its spin on Catholicism, I realize that it was made during a time of confusion and division. Imho, Elvis was not only a great singer/entertainer, he was a generous and good-hearted man who gave away more than he made. At a concert, he noticed a young person in a wheelchair near the stage and he immediately gave the child one of his rings that was valued at $40,000. The man had a beautiful heart!

  • Pope Benedict XVI is also trying to bring the Latin Rite in line with the Council. In '07, he promulgated 'Summorum Pontificum' which confirms the fact that the "old" Mass was never abrogated and priests may freely celebrate it. Concerning liturgical music, he wrote, "I desire, in accordance with the request advanced by the Synod Fathers, that Gregorian chant be suitably esteemed and employed as the chant proper to the Roman liturgy (Sacramentum Caritatis §4) Please visit unavoce(dot)org

  • Pope Paul VI tried to faithfully implement the true directives of the Council when he published a much ignored document in 1974 called 'Jubilate Deo'. According to it's description, it was published so that the people may learn the Latin/Chants of the Mass in conformity with the Second Vatican Council. The Bishops were specifically instructed to make sure that this became the norm in their local parishes. We are still waiting.

  • Sacrosanctum Concilium also stated that steps should be taken enabling the faithful to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass belonging to them (§54).

For example, the Credo, Agnus Dei, Sanctus, Pater Noster.

  • True. Although the Council permitted the vernacular, it also permitted Latin and Chant as liturgical norms:

Sacrosanctum Concilium (the Council's constitution on the sacred liturgy)

    36. § 1. Particular law remaining in force, the use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites.

§116 "The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman Liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services".

  • I wish I could watch it! They dont play old great movies no more!!

  • I LOVE YOU

  • Yeah I agree if the church would be more of a lively enviroment, it would be alot more fun. Elvis sure did a great job on this one. This is from Change of Habit movie, in my opinion his best movie.

  • Point me in the direction of the church that plays music like this!!

  • horizon you have great songs of elvis.

srry my english is not verry well

  • i love this movie he looks happy cuz he is doing wat he loved performing and he got 2 work with the very beautiful mary tyler moore barbara mcnair past away last year i believe r.i.p. elvis
