@grandpasun Ya, you're right but so was every sax player to come after them, but coltrane sounded like coltrane, sonny sounded like sonny, and michael sounded like michael, now every sax player to come after Michael will be influenced by him along with the rest of the greats

Mike was Paginini of the saxophone, the greatest physical player to ever touch the horn. In addition to all his other musical gifts.... If you play, you know how overwhelming he is. Thank you for the lessons, Mike.....
The way Michael Brecker played ballads is unbelievable!!!! You can definitely hear a lot of Coltrane influence in all of his playing. It is a shame he had to die so young. He will always be an inspiration.RIP Mike

Everybody talks about the run at 5:27, and I agree that it's ridiculous. But what comes afterwards! 5:38-5:59 is so soulful it kills me

Michael Brecker was great you all. But do realize that his language is largely influenced by Trane and Sonny.... Let's not forget....

Michael Brecker really helped lead the way for modern saxophone playing. I regret never getting the privilege to see him play live. R.I.P. Michael
