  • yes needmydatsun i agree I think he has done alot of research and stop hatin people hes just trying to help and I think he did a great job.

  • good job kid I havent got my bp yet and your video just really helped me get ready for mine. keep doing what your doing to your snakes your doing a great job!

  • Do ya breed the snakes?

  • Hey, i would not use the hampster stuff. I recomend aspen.

  • other than that good job.

  • ahhh wierd but cullll

  • you should buy a 55 gallon tank for them i would never let my snake live in a plastic tub

  • @TheTheRISKtaker snakes feel more comfortable in smaller enclosed areas. For a larger ball python you could get a larger (length and width wise) tub, but you do not want it being much taller.smaller tubs hold the heat better, are easier to clean, and easier to move. Not to mention the fact that they are less exspensive

  • @mobiussquadron hey, thats not true.

  • @hockey2817 What part of it is not true? The only debatable claim is that they feel more comfortable in an enclosed area, and you can ask any-body who keeps snakes and they will tell you that as a general rule, snakes love small areas to hide in, and as a general rule, are less stressed in an enclosed environment. I'm not saying a shoe-box for a 2 ft snake, but you do not need a massive enclosure for most species of snakes.

  • fart

  • sorry for the second comment

    3. humidity, it needs to be about 60%, and raised during shed

other than that you pretty much got everything, props to you for using tubs, theyre so much easier than FISH tanks lol

i feel that you (unlike A LOT of people) have probably done real research on how to keep them, maybe even been on a forum, so yeah, props to you, and great job so far!!

  • i know this is an old vid, but you actually have almost everything down. im sure youve learned more since this, but incase you havent, i'll point out some mistakes i see, not to hate on you, just to help you out some.

    1. never house any snakes together including BP's, theyre solitary animals, and have actually been known to canabalize.

    2. you need to know your temps, from what i saw you have no thermometer, or a regulator on your heat pad, and those can easily reach 130+

  • Where did you get the two you had in the vid at 5:03

  • I wouldn't want an ant to live in that crap.

  • that terrarium looks like shit, a important thing with reptiles is that the terrarium is almost like nature, and it looks much nicer with a lighted up terrarium with green plants!

  • Fail beautiful snakes tho

  • u r so smart

  • Ball Python live in a desert like environment in Africa.

  • @chesleycareystar actually they dont, they between the jungles and savannah lands, where its quite humid

  • Good video dude, but CareFresh bedding is not recommended for snakes as they can ingest it and it expands in their stomach causing impactions. Just thought you should know!

    Rob

  • This kid needs to not own a snake. No proper care.

  • @himynameisbry then how about you tell all of us how to properly care for one?

  • I can not stand it when people are mean to kids on Youtube. He's trying to HELP, he's trying to CONTRIBUTE positive information to the world. He's taking care of an animal, so why doesn't everybody encourage him with POSITIVE FEEDBACK and love instead of teasing, nasty comments or discouragement? Keep up the great work kiddo, we did a lot of research for our baby py and you're doing all the right things. Thanks for a great video!

  • "it keeps the moisture it stays nice and dry"

  • That's the ugliest bedding I've ever seen

  • how long do they stay like 2 foot . can u put them when they get at 2-3 feet can u put them in a terrarrium idk how to spell

  • that python isnt old enough to breed your going to kill it if they mate

  • an adult python should be in a 40+ gallon tank and u should NOT put 2 in the same habitat

  • ok people thats not what you want for a set up instead of a ghetto tub get a 10 gallon aquarium with metal meshed top line with a absorbant mat because they willgo straight through the substrate the put in the ASPEN substrate put a small hid on both hot and cold side with the water bowl on the cold and a stick to bask on in the hot put a heating pad on the hot side along with a day and night uv light. This kid is only using plastic because of the amount he has but thats no way for them to live!

  • hhhhhhmmmmm two third step

  • wont the heat pad melt the bottom? otherwise very nice setup

  • That gold colord one is BEAUTIFUL. She must have costed a fortune!

  • you dont want it too dry or the snake will loose all his scales and start peeling wich leeds to death make it bigger also

  • bro some ball pythons can be over $1000

  • they have nice colors the one looked like a pastel.

  • Good Video, I noticed it was from 2009, hopefully you are still working with ball pythons. Just a few quick tips that you probably know by now... You should use a rheostat or herpstat or something to control heat output on that heat tape. Plus it is always highly recommended that you seperate snakes, too many risks come into play when housing them together. Other than that great video, and ignore the assholes who commented below.

  • Hey dude can i ask something? You Know those heatpads? do i have to on them 24/7?

  • Why would you have both snakes together thats a no no

  • Brother, all snakes belong back in their natural habitat; keeping them confined is not natural. You'd be unhappy in any confined area for the rest of your life, no matter how nice it is inside or how well they are taken care of. Think about it.

  • @dustymiller65 try doing research befor comenting, ball pythins live in hols in the groud and only come out to eat and breed. so what is the big difference in keeping one in a tank/rack? think about it.

  • @floridayank22 It's NOT a natural habitat!

  • @dustymiller65 what pet that any person keeps is considered in its "natural habitat"?

  • u know ure stuff man

  • What the fuck are you doing! Are you running flexwatt without a thermostat? BAD fucking idea. Straight flexwatt runs to 110F+!!! Dude that shit can burn a snake fatally without proper heat control. Take this video down. Any heat source needs some source of a thermostat or rheostat. This is why they should fucking regulate who they sell snakes to. Jesus christ.

  • @AmsterdamFire321 dude calm down hes a kid if something he does upsets you then atleast say it nicely u dont have to be using vulger language.

  • Cool vid bud; I keep my balls in tubs also. I use to keep them in big aquariums but I have noticed you can control the temps and humidity better in the tubs. Far as your substrate Carefresh works great even though it is pricey. I used plain old Newspaper nowadays but I would have to say that Carefresh is better in absorbing the pee etc. Again good job bud

  • a ball python fits in there??

  • Seriously, what kind of a-hole are you giving such a young kid this hard of a time about a video. You honestly believe you were better when you were that young? Relax people, he never claimed to be a vet. All things considered, I think he's doing just fine.

  • At reptile expos and from most breeders normal males are $20-25.

  • wtf it keeps moisture and stays dry

  • i'm sorry... but you contradict yourself on everyother sentence...

  • Lol 100 dollars no 250 dollars albino ball python

  • maybe he meant when he sprays it it hold the moisture really well but it dries out good too!

  • Fom my pet store I got my ball-python for $50 and my pet store takes good care of their animals so my ball python also has a hundred dollar 20-gallon cage with heating pad aspen bedding and water and hiding places! Mine is way better than yours your enviorment makes it hard if the snake likes to climb I hove mini trees in there and mine loves it!

  • @MiniNinja224

''Mine is way better than yours, yours...'' What are you? 9?

  • @MrCactus555 I spent almost 200 dollars

  • how much for all that

  • I really dont like them tubs people keep ball pythons in i know alot breeders use them but they dont look big enough my females in a vivarium with room to climb if she wants n just think tubs are to shallow and small

  • you need a cage dum ass you dont know anything about ball pythons

  • @TheDavidchoy Don't you be calling him a dumb ass, for it is you that is one. People use tubs because it retains heat and moisture very well. Unlike a glass vivarium, which lets heat and moisture billow out. Also, ball pythons are very private, they like not to be seen. They feel more comfortable in a tub, rather than a vivarium. So before you blindly insult someone, do a little bit of research to prevent yourself from looking like a dumb ass.

  • @TheDavidchoy then you dont know about how to take care of a ball python either

  • I have never seen a ball python in a pet store for less than $130 and when it comes to balls thats the low low end, you can spend thousands on one snake sometimes.

  • @reptilecreation Really I got mine for 30$.

  • @reptilecreation Generally pet stores sell the normal morph for about $80 dollars. Private breeders sell them for about $30. Breeders aim for the interesting colored morphs, such as the common one, albino. In every clutch of eggs produced, you are bound to end up with the normal morph. Thus why breeders sell them for cheap prices.

  • @OutlawImmortalz96 I am well aware of breeder pricing (Sorry) i was just saying i had never seen one in a pet store for such a price. but maybe i live to far up north, its not like we have any local breeders.

  • @reptilecreation if you've never seen one for less then $130 in a pet store you are going to the wrong pet stores......... and yes you can spend thousands of dollars on a single snake but those are usually designer morphs but even some of those aren't gunna cost ya $130, I have a lemon pastel that I only paid $75 for, buying snakes from a local pet store is usually not the best idea, overpriced and usually not properly cared for.

  • @bobrootbeer1 well i know all about buying from reputable breeders but when it comes to pythons here in canada the breeding industry has not gone as far as other places so a lot of snakes are still more expensive. i know a lot of pet stores are shit but i know everyone at the pet store i buy from and trust the people in charge unlike many places they are very smart and know their stuff

  • @bobrootbeer1 there's a difference in chains for the most part petco has better reptile care the petsmart etc....

  • @wolfyk95 the petco in my town is horrible when it comes to their snakes, they have them in a 10 gal tank, usually about 5 of them and the humidity is usually around 30%, I constantly see them with very poor sheds... I don't doubt that some petcos do take care of them but my local petco is lacking in that area.... I was there just looking at them one day and an employee came up to me and said "if you are interested in getting one check with your city first cuz they can get up to 15 feet".....

  • that heatmat looked very small for that size of set up. i had my ball python in a flat set up she hated it she wanted to climb more

  • Pythons are cheap? Yeah right.

  • i know you have two snakes but you know snakes need UVA and UVB lights for them to make sure they do not get any bone or some other diseases

  • @zypli1 ball pythons don't

  • @zypli1 most constricters as far as i know dont

  • @zypli1 you are incorrect ball pythons do not need any special lighting

  • @zypli1 Actually boas ,balls and most snakes dont need any kind of uv as most of them are nocturnal, most lizards do

  • "keeps the moisture'stays nice and dry"

  • @fulforddude he said "it keeps the moisture and stays nice and dry" which means the bedding stays dry while it helps keep humidity in the air! why u gotta hate?

  • what happens when u put a ball python with a corn snake? not in the same housing of course but if u take both of them out will they fight? What if i keep them a safe distance?

  • not such a good idea to keep the both in the same cage because one dau you may find out the the female is going to have babies and thats very bad idea for such a small one

  • wat qt size is the tub?

  • i would live there

  • Im not snake owner, but are you sure its ok to house 2 of them together?

  • the bedding stays dry but yet you say it keeps mouisture hmmm should have your parents get you in school my friend

  • @ballpythons94 They don't teach you that in school man maybe you should.

  • @ballpythons94 not to be rude but mouisture is water and if it keeps it dry then it does not keep the mouisture in

  • @ballpythons94 he made a mistake just like how you misspelled moisture.

  • i need to find some users on here whos balls have actually dropped.....I DONT MEAN THE SNAKES EITHER...seriously...its either little kids or little fucking retarded girls....If anybody knows of ADULTS who make care videos and shit...tell me.

  • ya i know what you mean, type in learning ball pythons and go to the guy that has the username muffdaddytv he has lots of good information

  • Thanks man MUCH appreciation !

  • JandDreptiles has some really good videos

  • @IRISHREPTILEZ92 if you haven't already found anything that you were looking for look up Garrick Demeyer he has some excellent videos on caring for your snakes

  • r u out of ur mind the python could easily come out

  • Having a right cage..

How can you call that a fucking cage? serieously..hahahaha.

Come back and tell me more when your abit older with alot more experiance bro.

  • i have a red tailed boa named isis lol

  • Yeah pretty much.

  • Hmm... Keeps moisture but stays dry?

  • Fun Fact!

They got the name Royal Python from when Queen CeiloPatria wore Ball pythons for jewelry around her neck and wrists.

  • Im using aspen snake bedding now.

  • thats what i used my first year till i learned its not the best idea... it actualy repels the water sprayed in his cage making hunidity harder to control.... what u want to use is FOREST FLOOR BEDDING from ZOO MED

  • hes right man.....i used care fresh for a week and noticed all the dust then got rid of it....expecially with the snake burrowing himself...can cause Respitory problems...also reptibark doesnt transfer heat from undertank heatpads so be careful with that as well......i reccomend news paper or papertowels

  • Well its worked for me and many other breeders so yup.

  • @BallPythonDude how old are old are you

  • carefresh is very dust and cause IR
