@bob333336 yes, but these were the days where it is all genuine car setup/driving skills that made the races that much more exciting... these days drivers rely on their DRS and KERS for them to win their races or peform well in qualifying.... bring back the good old days.
DRS in qualifying is tricky, the amount of info going through a drivers head when he has to choose the right time to pop open the DRS is immense.
Get on DRS too early you spin, get on it too late, you loose valuable time, do it perfectly you get gain every ounce you can get, but you have to make sure you do it perfectly through every single corner exit. The one who can FEEL the car better and knows the optimal time to engage DRS without upsetting the car is the better driver.
As for in a race? That makes 0 sense. The driver being passed can also pass back using KERS, or DRS. Unless it's one of the back marker teams that don't have both. In which case it doesn't matter.
Point to always remember- the onboard cameras from about 1990 onwards are designed to remove the bumps...the ride seems very smooth. Just look at Hakkinen's helmet for an indication of the forces and bumps...that is why these drivers are so brilliant-they drive as smoothly as on a computer game with the bumps and g-forces and risk of injury?death of real life...
F1 has been many years of Finns favourite! Just too shame that nowdays we can watch F1 only from pay-TV! It's like WRC, before it was free to everyone LIVE, now it's behind pay-tv for everyone! Shame on us Finnish!!!!!!!

too bad the MP4/12 was totally unreliable, with a different engine and gearbox maybe it would've been a champion car

Very clever Mika, short shifting in a yellow flag zone in stead of lifting of the throttle!
