OMG, Can't believe I just found this after 20 years. I enjoyed Nels company during the second half of the race. BTW, the vid said I was from Wisconsin and I'm actually from Anchorage. The next years race was much better for me. To all my old buddies in Alaska, I miss them and Alaska greatly.
Roman Dial, Carl Tobin. Man, these guys are legends in AK for their mad, minimalist cross country trips in the AK bush. I even saw Richard Larson in there. Cool.
Incredible. I just started following the ice-biking racing circuit about a year ago, and to know it's been done for so long and so well is very very inspiring! Awesome video (though the music is... well, god-awful. That's the 80's for ya...)
