  • i got a civic hybrid 06 serial number 23003636 need the radio code, a friend try to unlock the radio but the radio code dat he get with my serail number got numbers zero and number 9 my car only got numbers fom 1 to 8. so the code dat he get was for navigation radio system and i have the normal radio i dont have navigation system.i dont have a zipcode cuz i got dat car from car auction inssurance and i sent the car to panama.

    may email is black-tino@mi.canzion.com

  • It can use its maximum torque with the CVT. That's if it has any. Honda is all horsepower, and you have to rev it to redline anytime you need to get going. The bad thing about the Civic hybrids is that the gas engine is always on unless you are completely stopped. In Toyota's system, the car can use fully electric mode. The Civic Hybrid has a smaller engine, and is assisted by the electric motor because us Americans can't live without 500+HP under the hood.

  • this car is not sluggish? 0-16 in 12 seconds is pretty slow...

  • @Stonedbrownguy I'm pretty sure he said 60.

  • @Stonedbrownguy yeah, for normal cars it is, but for hybrids its decent

  • This one is to DisturbedOne0089 20 years old and he probably does not even know the real difference between a Hybrid and a conventional gasoline engine. First off your POS SL2 does not get 35 MPG if they did they would have had the market years ago.

  • lostincybers, 22 years old and he's probably been a dumbass his whole life.

"I got a GTP that smokes your saturn probably performance and gas. My civic would even take your saturn with the electric motor alone."

Performance? I would freaking hope so. The Saturn has a 1.9L 4-Banger, it's not that hard to beat it.

MPG? Very Doubtful, again 1.9L 4-Banger gets me some very nice MPG.

Hybrid civic cost WAY more than my Saturn, for such little gain in MPG so congrats on that.

  • @lostincybers Oh come on muffin. Saturn S-Series were cheap, no question, but they were ridiculous on gas. Straight highway my old 2001 SC1 would get 42mpg, easily. With city/highway, 35mpg was not uncommon at all. The S-Series was simple, economical and reliable transportation - and they still are if you are lucky enough to find one that's been well maintained.

Saturn's failures, moreover, GM's failures, are a whole different topic.

  • These "hybrids" seem so efficient with MPG...but not really. I can get 35 MPG with my Saturn SL2 which I bought $650 and have about $250 in performance parts on it, which in the end allows my engine to breathe much better improving MPG if I keep my foot out of it. Hell, old Swifts and even Sprints get better mileage than that...

  • well you must realize that new cars have safety standards, as well as creature comforts that add significant wieght..

These new Honda cars are an absolute riot of technology, and it's very impressive how efficient they are considering their wieght..

Rember their goal is to SELL CARS..

With that in mind, people dont want to drive little shit boxes.. :)

  • Yet they are still buying these hondas...

  • This could lead to global laming! Smug alert! Smug alert!

  • still a disapointment after the insight got 70mpg and is a decade old technology

  • that GPS is not as good as Tomtom.

  • the hybrid civics 2006 and newer have a total of 110 horsepower. The normal civics 2006 and newer have the 140 horsepower. The SI civic 2006 and newer have 197 horsepower

  • Buy a v8.

  • Great Exterior! Ugly Interior!

  • yu re right ugly interior but i recognize its original like a cockpit

  • @rnorred06,

for me, Great Interior Ugly Exterior! (USDM)

  • you're on crack if you think a civic looks like a prius. i'll give you prius has the upper hand on hybrid technology, but it looks like a friggin' pretentious escape pod.

  • for that reason Lexus LS600H is the most advanced car on the planet.

  • Comment removed

  • No insight was launched in 1999 before that was several hybridcars already for example Audi Duo(1989) and TOYOTA PRIUS(1997 Japanese market. First-year sales were nearly 18,000.) So Honda is not first hybrid car.

  • i envy ppl that can afford them. i live on a disabled fixed income and can bairly afford to get gas for a small car let along save up for a hybrid. its sad in this age that it is so hard dto get things.

  • wow thanks for the review, it was really helpful since im considering on getting one of these

    Thanks! :)

  • wow this was actually helpful! because im planning on buying a civic hybrid soon . so yea thanks!

  • i bet that guy gets all kinds of vagina

  • That "oh you startled me" Line was Corny.

  • If only made it a station wagon instead of the uber lame user useless sedan. What IS it with people and their stupid desire for those stupid sedan models...

  • go ride a scooter

  • You think a sedan is a smarter choice than a station wagon?

  • hell yeah

  • Why? Y

  • Why? Every time put a few things in the trunk, the trunk won't close. It's so impractical. With the station wagon, the luggage can be taller and you can fit so much more in it. The only real advantage of a sedan is for looks. This is where I think people are so stupid. They take horsepower over anything else, then looks. It's all so emotional and stupid.

  • i can see where ur coming from about the trunk space, i snowboard and it requires alot of car space, but i'm also about wats under the hood :) i personally do not like station wagons at all

  • What do you think of the Mazda MX6 wagon? Looks pretty decent and is pretty powerful.

Or how about the new VW Jetta Sportwagon?

  • ill admit the jetta is nice, i dont like the mazda tho. i gues its only a few of the wagons i dont like. cause i think its the honda civic type-6 that is real nice.

  • Honda Civic "Type-6". I'm not familiar with the "Type-6". Here we've got the sedan in 2 door, 4 door, and I think there is only a sporty version of the hatchback with an incredibly gay spoiler which looks really pathetic.

  • i meant the type-r if im correct

  • honda fcx clarity is the greenest car ever but this is just as good

  • This review is incorrect. The engine does not have 140bhp in the hybrid.

  • its 140 hp "combined" - power of the motor and the electric drive together.

  • I thought it was 110 hp combined.

  • That is correct. It is 110 combined. Not 140. Thus, this review is incorrect. The standard engine is 140 hp, not the hybrid.

  • If you want engine power buy a Civic Type R.

  • @sonofthedestroyer LOWEST GRIP WITH CIVIC 2007-PRESENT.

  • cool

  • Can someone tell in European measurement how much is 50 miles per gallon?

    (how many liters per 100km)

  • 50 mpg = 4.7 L/100 km

  • Thanks for the video!

  • looks different in europe

  • 0-60 in 12 second.... how bout don't even bother, is faster than molassas running of a tree... treehugger.

  • tdi and cdi is the way to go.

  • I would love to have a Diesel car, It gets respectable fuel mileage almost comparitive to hybrids.

IMO I would chose a Diesel over a hybrid.... At least Diesels can be light to moderate modification to the intake and exhaust.

  • yes, that and you get LOADS of torque w/ diesel.

i spoke to audi over the summer.....tdi a4s are scheduled to hit the U.S. market in the fall of '09.

it's sad that it's taken this long for diesels to come to the U.S. then again, we're not paying nearly $7 USD a gallon for petrol like Germany is....but i still wish diesels had hit this market sooner than 2009.

  • Awesome, Indeed... too much torque... ;)

  • u guys like plastic cars wow, thats a fucking piece of shit all jap cars suck. it dosen't even tell u ur top speed, and 12sec 0-60 PIECE OF SHIT, buy german only german. plus the safty of jap cars suck. the airbags don't even go on, on time

  • dumb ass

  • unfortunatly german cars suck. all german cars are plagued by electrical problems. in fact ive seen two bmw's catch fire. and my friend owned a 525i, 19k miles and the engine blew. also had a friend with a volkswagon passat brand new off the lot with 0 miles the interior lights in the instrument panel would flash and flicker on and off.

  • and if you want to talk saftey. german cars have the worst crash test ratings of any vehicle on the market. a geo metro beat them in crash tests. dont believe me, read the fucking crash test reports you dumb ass idiot.

  • actually chinese makes are the worst in crash tests. to quote your own ignorant self...."read the fucking crash test reports you dumb ass idiot."

    faggot

  • my accord has nearly a 5 start crash test rating. and as far as being called a faggot. i may be one but it takes one to know one. so suck my cock you pig fucker.

  • haha you called me a pig fucker.

  • and another thing. how many german cars have you seen that have lasted for over 500k miles. my honda's and acura's have always lasted over 500k miles. so eat that shit.

  • acuras and hondas....for people who can't afford german engineering. eat that shit you poor bastard.

  • SACH:From personal experience, I have a lot of respect for german engineers. You guys are very methodical and your automobile industry is definitely advanced. HOWEVER, when it comes to meeting the durability and fuel-efficiency test JAPANESE ARE UNMATCHED and my personal experience with a $40000+ WV was far from pleasant. ...There is no doubt, at the moment, JAPANESE CARS RULE

  • German cars are over-rated. No offence to Germans though.

  • German Cars oare way overrated. The door pieces of the interior of my BMW are always coming off or are loose. Poor quality.

  • exactly 100% accurate. My friend and i must say again bought a brand new 2006 525I. it had 10 miles on it when he picked it up. it was in the shop every other day. BMW replaced it with a new one and it was the same way only the engine died on that one at 525 miles. not to mention the countless electrical problems. dash lights flickering on and off, headlights shutting off for no reason.

  • and another thing. with gas prices at a all time high and still rising and fuel reserves running out as time goes by it makes sense to drop the gas guzzling vehicles and getting something more efficent. i dont know about you but i sure as hell cannot afford 5 bucks a gallon. fuel here is already 3.79 a gallon and rising. it will be 3.90 by the time thanksgiving comes around. but then again i dont care about performance to me it is just a way to get into trouble and put lives at danger.

  • This Pollutes MORE then the 2007 Ford Explorer v6

(fact: it has a higher emissions count, despite a better MPG, its cause the muffler system has a lack of filtering out pollution)

  • "its cause the muffler system has a lack of filtering out pollution"...since when do mufflers "filter out pollution. Mufflers are designed to "muffle" sound (make quieter). Catalytic converters, O2 sensors, EGR valves...etc help reduce emissions...

  • i think you need to go to auto school... hondas and toyota's are the most efficent cars on the market. the only way it would have a higher emission count is if you had blown seals and it was throwing plumes of smoke out the ass. catalitic converters burn the remaining exaust.

  • oh and another thing. before you start knocking a vehicle maybe you should start your EXPLORER and smell the exaust. then smell the exaust of a honda or a toyota. you will see that the Explorer is throwing more unburned gasoline into the air than anything.

  • Things are reversed with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, which finds the Prius starting out on battery electric power. The gasoline engine seamlessly starts up to provide additional power during acceleration, at higher speeds, or when driving up grades. This ability to run at times on battery power alone is an important distinction to some folks, since this means Toyota's hybrids are actually zero emission vehicles during the time they're electrically driven. Honda's hybrids cannot do this.

  • The Honda IMA system's electric motor/generator supplies additional power to the gasoline engine when needed for acceleration or when driving demands are greater, such as when climbing grades, thus the designation "motor assist." The Honda gasoline engine always provides propulsion.

  • WTF, did I just see this guy do 0-60mph on a RESIDENTIAL STREET??

  • your mum....what a fag

  • the best navigatrion is a map!not to fucking hard to read one

  • Why do people make such a big deal about onboard navigation?

There is MUCH better aftermarket stereos/Nav systems you can get for much cheaper. And iPod adapter? $30 compared to $300

Go to Best Buy, check out what they've got. They'll even put it in for you, much cheaper than dealerships.

  • Agreed to the max!

  • at lease this hybrid isn't as ugly and hydius as the prius

  • why must hybrids have such ugly wheels?

  • yeah Japanese rules. Toyota #1 beating GM; Honda is getting better cool.

  • Toyota is #1 but not Honda.

  • Garbage....Toyotas are long term more reliable but Hondas are beautifilly engineered. Nobody makes a better gearbox than Honda.

  • I don't care how slow it speeds up, just the mpg is fine

  • Prius, Insight, and Civix Hybrids are efficiency hybrids, so you can't expect them to go fast. They are geared towards milage. If you want performance you can get a Lexus GS or LS hybrid.

  • starving african kids cant eat this

  • Wow, so many stupid comments!

Firstly this is a HYBRID car. Hence it's all about ecology and low consumption, not speed or acceleration. If you want those there are plenty of other Hondas. This is a new technology, it will get better in terms of both consumption and performance. If you don't like it than this car was not targeted for you. Don't be fools saying it's s..t, because Honda is at the forefront of this technology (as in many others).

  • digital speedos are awefull

  • What a sweet car.

  • thats slooow

  • cool car but the speed sucks

  • 0-60 in 12 sec... hahahahahaha

  • great review boss

  • I searched about the hybrid, it's not 140 hp, it's 110.

  • the problem of hybrid cars is the gasoline motor. it may use a diesel motor or a natural gas motor. with this they will do 80/90 mpg easily... the problem is the cost of this motors...

  • Oh forgot to say

The Golf MK V I have is a gorgeous drive and with its 1.9 diesel engine doing 64MPG in motorway driving (with 0-60 in 11.2 seconds) wow I think I will change that to an ugly Honduhh anyday its got my vote lol.

  • Wow the ipod add on is great... text to speach I suppose thats a nice *new* feature. I think i will keep to my 4 year old Phatbox ($199 imported from the states and no dealer fees) the voice prompts on the Phatbox sound great but I suppose Apple have invented this new voice prompt technology *que the Apple fanatics*! its been moved in to my new Volkswagen (3rd move and still going strong)and hmm the ipod navigation works just the same as the Phatbox as well!

  • /agree @ Dilekz, u americans should start thinking about what to do when there is NO MORE OIL, cause it IS HAPPENING and its inevitable. and hey, maybe u could start reducung ur CO2 emissions too, since ur responsable for >60% of it worlwide.

  • why blame americans for everything. talk to china with their billions of nut jobs. who uses more oil?

  • boobs

  • 0-60 in 12 seconds?! Haha, I can do the 1/4 mile in 13 seconds. Makes my car seem like a rocket doesn't it... All this and I still avg 22mpg city/hwy combined and around 28mpg hwy. pretty good for 2 times the power and it being a 350HP 5.7L V8.

  • why are u compairing a hybrid car with that ever u have...BTW what are u driving?...a V8 with 350HP getting 28 on hwy seems a little funny when a V6 3.0 can get around the same with 240 HP...

  • mmmmm LS1 I assume. Full of win and god. ALL HAIL THE 350!

  • You would assume correct. Technically it's a 346ci btw :)

  • Holy shit... 0-60 in 12 seconds huh? That's about what my car does in the 1/4 mile haha.

  • The reason why people dont buy diesel. is the road tax. Its high!!. Anyway.. most american people are like wow it must have V8 .. bla bla always talking about CC's.

America doesnt look like OIL is going to be a problem in the next 50 years.. they dont really explore the area of CLEAN cars.

And i am still waiting for a clean cheap car and a little bit sporty. We as people dont need v8...

And you guys in America have this low speed limit haha we can go to germany and hit the GAS !! baby !!!

  • this is shit

  • I preferred the "old" civic design though...

  • That is awesome. I was thinking.A lot of my friend are using mp3 player but this is really perfect. 80 gb pretty huge. Evry thing with ipod..

  • didn't chrysler coin the term cab forward design?

  • The new Honda S2000 nwe Honda Accord ore Legend is greater then that

  • not a kids car.. they want speed. This i would get.. imagine the savings a year? awesome :)

  • Stupid car ... end of story

  • I would rather buy a the Classic For Transit van, not the newest one, or anywhere near that! This thing is horrible!!

  • I knew a guy who had a '88 Ford Escort 1.6 Diesel, and he was able to push well over 60mpg in it. I really don't know why people bother buying hybrids, they're just a gimmick.

  • they're better for the environment than diesel.

  • In some aspects yes, but the likes of the Toyota Prius can only hit about 35-40mpg (according to a Top Gear test), which is far lower than it's predicted fuel ecconomy, while diesels can hit far higher.

  • all the reviews I've read base their mileage/dollar calculations around a constant gas price. Since when in recent history has that been constant. It's not a one gear trans either, there are NO gears.

  • "If you think it's sluggish, think again! 0-60 in 12 seconds!" Sorry, that's sluggish as hell. If you're going to get a hybrid (because you are, you know, dumb or whatever) get a hybrid V6, like the Accord.

  • I liked it. but 50mpg seems low.

  • Bollocks, diesel is far better than gimmikie hybrids.

  • Not if you live in London where the Mayor charges £8 a day to travel in to the City center. Hybrids like this are exempt, diesels are not. Saving = £1920 per working year.

  • that intro is class LOL

  • Has this old faggot never seen Sat Nav before? And as ChristianM17 rightly points out, Ford are loosing money in a world where Gasoline is costing more, SUVs are going to be a thing of the past unless youre super rich. Hence Ford investing £300 in europe to develop sustainable energy sources for its vehicles...

  • oh you startled me! douchebag

  • honda is shit and always will be. try the big three gm, ford, chrysler. thats real automobiles along with bmw and mercedes

  • You're joking right?

that's why GMC, Ford, and diamler chrysler are always losing profit unlike imports?

but if what you said was a joke =) it made many many people laugh

  • honda is an okay car company. i like nissan tho. they pretty tight.

  • Explain why American automakers are firing and the Japanese are building new plants? Better built cars, more reliable = more sales...I'm white, so no bias here. ;) But nice try being all Americana, American car manufacturers, never gave 2 craps about the quality. They only cared about the bottom line and that's why the imports bit them in the ass. They took over 50% of the car market share from crappy American car makers. Nice try bud. ;)

  • lol, the big 3 north american pieces of crap. I make Ford and GM cars, i should know. I also know are parking lots is full of japanese cars, and no one drives the cars we make. Foreign cars will always be better than north american cars.

  • yeah - except that they brake 3 times as frequently and guzzle gas.

besides, hybrids are for the future, seen a review and at first it seemed ok, but then it proved to be totaly inefficient. So far diesel seems the best choice. especially with home made diesel :) fun to make too.

  • WTF are you talking about? While I would take a Bimmer or a Benz over a Honda any day I would NEVER buy a GM, they spend too much time making the car look good (which it does until all the crappy plastic trim falls off.)and not enough time making a car that lasts a long time even if the trim isn't the falshiest or the engine the most powerful. What are you smoking?

  • WOW What a piece of shitt...

  • what does the DVD navigational cd do ?

  • Its the Sat Nav program, most cars such as BMWs and Mercedes use this anyway, it snothing new, This old queer likes it alot though...

  • look at the bad joke in the beggining.

  • Guys, Honda must bring this car to Brazil, I want ONE!

  • yeah man, i want it too!!!! why we don't have the hybrids cars in Brasil yet?

  • i want to see a review on the 2006 honda civic sedan EX with navi if anyone has a link to it please give it to me TY =)

  • I don't have a review but I own one and I must say it is a really good car. I have the non-hybrid EX Sedan w/navi and i have gotten 44 mpg on the hwy and about 32 mpg city (mind you I pay attention to how I drive and make adjustments to my driving to save fuel) I love the two tiered speedo and the nav system is nice especiealy with the voice control.

  • This is great, and as I've been researching hybrids, I also found this video, which shows some hybrids from the 2006 ny auto show. very good, also:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGfiYhnr6Qk

  • haha, 140hp!! LOL, so slow, and its the NEW model, and 0-60 in 12 sec...wow this cars slow as hell, a 2000 accord could go faster then this, and oh man the navagation...shit take a look at the tsx navigation, or even a g35 one, the things in the hybrid is a pussy's car

  • Dang, 12 seconds to go from 0-60, that's really slow.

  • Hybrids are only for saving the Envoirnment and to make people feel smug about not making smog.

  • Why do people line up for the Toyota Prius, yet overlook Honda's Hybrids? BECAUSE PEOPLE BUY HYBRIDS TO SHOW OFF! THE HONDA'S HYBRIDS ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM THIER NORMAL GAS CARS AND THE PRUIS IS WAY DIFFERENT!!! You need to drive these cars (Hybrids) for 4-5 years FULL TIME (25k miles/yr) TO BREAK EVEN!!! (assuming they last that long) Bottom line, who do you want to have your money: you pay up front with the Japanese (Toyota/Honda) or the Saudis over a longer term?

  • put nature in the equation.

  • To prove my point: http://www.askaprice.com/images/news/inhouse/745-03.jpg

  • That's a "no"
