They just didn't go into orbit, which is much further than the boundary of space. Secondly, Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space (he was Russian, if you still need it spelled out for you) and the Soviets put live animals into space before the US even orbited a satellite, let alone an ape.

Consequently, that makes it more Iranian than the Atlas and Redstone were American. It successfully achieved orbit without exploding, so credit is due to Iran.

The United Nations has tried to engage Iran through trade. They have offered to lift sanctions, offered economic incentives, and invited them to be a productive partner in this ever growing global economy. The one condition is to stop enriching uranium. Iran has chosen to further isolate themselves by moving forward with their nuclear program.
The bottom line is that Iran will not be allowed to develop a nuclear arsenal. Either they can swallow their pride and get their butts to the negotiation table or they will eventually feel the wrath of the allied military forces....it really is that simple. Well, there is Japan, Brazil, Germany, and a few others who have nuclear power generation technology, and haven't built a nuclear arsenal; so there goes your logic out the window. Brazil has a modest nuclear weapons arsenal...enough to protect themselves from Argentina if needed. Germany may not have their own nuclear weapons but they have some provided by the U.S. which means they have nuclear weapons. Brazil had a nuclear weapons program back in the 1970s under a military government, but when the elected government came to power in 1985, the program was terminated. They do have the capability to make bombs, but they won't as they adhere to the Non Proliferation Treaty. If there are nuclear weapons on German soil, they don't belong to that country, so that doesn't count. Remember Japan's role in WWII, and being the only country that came under nuclear attack, you tell me compared to Iran.

It is unfortunate that hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives but the reality is that millions were probably saved. I'll have to speak to a former co worker about that. He is a WWII historian, and the way I understand it is that Germany was the one that was working towards developing the bomb; not the Japanese. The argument that survives even today against the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, is that the US could have bombed targets of military value instead of two cities filled with civilians.
They both were working towards the bomb. The Japanese project was known as the F-Go program. Their efforts were delayed when a massive U.S. B29 bombing raid severley damaged their main facility. As a matter of fact, a German sub which was headed for Japan surrendered to U.S. forces in 45. This sub was carrying uranium oxide. Basically, the Germans and Japs were working together to build the bomb. The U.S. just happen to beat them to it.
So when people talk about the U.S. being the only country to use a nuclear weapon....yes, it's true but only because they beat the Germans and Japs to it. I guarantee you they would have used the bomb had they obtained it first.

They just didn't go into orbit, which is much further than the boundary of space. Secondly, Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space (he was Russian, if you still need it spelled out for you) and the Soviets put live animals into space before the US even orbited a satellite, let alone an ape.

They put Glenn into space, Armstrong on the moon, and NASA relies indirectly on that expertise today. Safir-2 is derived from an Iranian variant of a DPRK missile. Consequently, that makes it more Iranian than the Atlas and Redstone were American. It successfully achieved orbit without exploding, so credit is due to Iran.

They have offered to lift sanctions, offered economic incentives, and invited them to be a productive partner in this ever growing global economy. The one condition is to stop enriching uranium. Iran has chosen to further isolate themselves by moving forward with their nuclear program.

The bottom line is that Iran will not be allowed to develop a nuclear arsenal. Either they can swallow their pride and get their butts to the negotiation table or they will eventually feel the wrath of the allied military forces....it really is that simple. Those are the options....period....end of story.

Sure, Iran deserves to make progress....but they should do it in a responsible manner without all the ridiculous threats and rhetoric. They should stop supporting terrorist organizations, stop calling for the destruction of Israel, and stop making assinine assertions that the holocaust is a myth. Maybe it would be easier to reach the Iranian people through TRADE instead of by threats of military force. I think the reason states like Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, etc side with Iran and show resistance to the United States and Israel is because of the latter's overreaching influence to develop an Empire in their respective regions.

I am very much an American "waronterror9" as I am perfectly capable of thinking for myself. I'm not some drone that believes everything the media tries to tell me. Again look at the facts. The US, England, and Israel are the real rogue nations. They are constantly engaged in intervening militarily with other countries. They have nuclear weapons, ICBMs, nuclear bombers, etc. Iran launches a simple radio satellite, and all of a sudden, that's a threat! That rhetoric is backwards if you ask me.

I'm not saying it will definitely spark, or "kick off" WWIII, but the possibility of an escalation is non the less there. After the last meeting between Putin and Bush while they were still the presidents of their respective countries changed America's strategy towards Iran. While still poised to antagonize the Iranians, the saber rattling from Washington was toned down quite a bit. I have no proof but I think Putin read the "riot act" to Bush as to what could happen if Iran is attacked.

Brazil has a modest nuclear weapons arsenal...enough to protect themselves from Argentina if needed. Germany may not have their own nuclear weapons but they have some provided by the U.S. which means they have nuclear weapons. Brazil had a nuclear weapons program back in the 1970s under a military government, but when the elected government came to power in 1985, the program was terminated. They do have the capability to make bombs, but they won't as they adhere to the Non Proliferation Treaty. If there are nuclear weapons on German soil, they don't belong to that country, so that doesn't count. Remember Japan's role in WWII, and being the only country that came under nuclear attack, you tell me compared to Iran.

It is unfortunate that hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives but the reality is that millions were probably saved. Thank your lucky stars that the U.S. beat them to it because this world be probably be a much different place than it is now.

I'll have to speak to a former co worker about that. He is a WWII historian, and the way I understand it is that Germany was the one that was working towards developing the bomb; not the Japanese. The argument that survives even today against the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, is that the US could have bombed targets of military value instead of two cities filled with civilians.

They both were working towards the bomb. The Japanese project was known as the F-Go program. Their efforts were delayed when a massive U.S. B29 bombing raid severley damaged their main facility. As a matter of fact, a German sub which was headed for Japan surrendered to U.S. forces in 45. This sub was carrying uranium oxide. Basically, the Germans and Japs were working together to build the bomb. The U.S. just happen to beat them to it.

You know why they haven't. They are attempting to solve this diplomatically because war is a terrible thing. If Iran continues their current path, that day will come within the next year or 2.....guaranteed. Then Iran and all the rogue nations that support them will cry foul eventhough they had been warned for years. Trust me, war is the last thing I want to see.
