this was one of my fave Miss Universe pageants ever. Botswana was so radiant and true to herself. I just loved that she brought this one home for her country. Also, loved that another dark-skinned black woman had taken the crown. It was the last for a while (and now we have Miss Angola :) )

MU 1999 was for Miriam Quiambao, the Philippines, but she didnt answer the question with confidence and pride that's why she lost the crown to Botswana. Philippines answer was better than Botswana but she lost the crown the way she delivered her answer.
