That's beautiful, I love the end when she smile at her mentor !...It must be so rewarding to have a student like this cute girl so talented, he probably doesn't even look at how much time he spend teaching a wonderful child like this one, and she deserves it !... Best Wishes to you cutie pie :-)
The teacher deserve lots of credit too, and he as to look at the sheet music, because accompaniment is not something you want to memorize, since it's the orchestra part !....
@6MemoryOfForever9 well, it's probably because she practiced until she memorized it, but the teacher never really plays it so he reads the sheet music :P Which means he's playing a very complicated piece without even practicing
@Mongomilian Well, when I play random songs and attempt to play them with notes, it IS easier than sticking to a sheet... but in their case, and that's my own opinion from my own experience which may be wrong, they are playing a written piece, and I am sure she learned it FROM a sheet, so not only did she have to stick to the sheet at first, she also learned it by heart, and probably knows it so well she adds her own "touch" to it from time to time. That is what I do with pieces that I love. :D
@6MemoryOfForever9 Sightreaders are MORE rare than memorizers - more difficult - Liszt was THE greatest sight reader in history or maybe John Ogden. The playing lacks flow - sounds like millions of single notes without certain direction...
@hadsell1962 You should see when I am "memorizing" and playing by heart. You wouldn't know what song it is even if you read the title! :P OK why did I just humiliate myself? O.o
@6MemoryOfForever9 As a piano teacher, he's not going to have every piece of music memorized. Taking piano lessons, you only learn a few songs at a time, making it easy to memorize.
the teacher probably has other students to teach and many other long pieces to learn for their guidance. why would he have to memorize all of that? there's sheet music for a reason..
@starrfan I believe the teacher is sight reading. My teacher does that a lot in duets. Well, maybe not sight reading, but reading it for the third time or something. The student only has one teacher, and the teacher can have lots of students, so they can't remember everything for all their students.
wow! this is wonderful, it's amazing that she is playing from memory completely, the poor teacher can barely keep up, not meaning any slight towards the teacher of course, he's obviously brilliant.
@Cod4Spirat I dont really understand your reasoning but working and school is indeed useful. If you mean its useless after your death that may be true, although it wont be useless to others, and you'll be able to use it yourself while you're still alive. Music however will carry on just like these kids play beethoven's music.

I could do this aswell if i practised every fucking day of my life starting at a young age.. But thank god that they didnt, i dont want to ruin my time pushing keys down in a specified order..
What IS this music? Sounds for all the world like Clementi, but I cannot place it! Well done, both of you! Love Tiffany´s excellent hand positions. As my mom, a master musician in her own right, says, nice to see a kid that is being taught the right positions and not being taught to hold her fingers like butter paddles!
Hope she doesn't go the way of many Asian-American talents - when they reach college age mom and dad tell them to major is something else like medicine or engineering. Apparently she has inner talent and it would be a shame to see it wasted.
This is so good I don't know what words to use to describe it. You were so much into the music you even started to play the Orchestral part once. At about 8:50.

i agree that her teacher has done a great job with her. obviously she is talented beyond words, but without great teaching, she could not have accomplished so much already. so often people forget to acknowledge the teachers. only teachers know how much work goes into teaching a talented child - all the extra lesson time, tireless explanation, demonstration etc. her teacher deserves all the credit due
@yiyiku How right you are, yiyiku. Having been one for 26 years myself, , I'm sure I was the only one who noticed how much more polished and mature my students' playing was on their Senior Recitals than their auditions.
Teaching (piano, anyway) is much, MUCH more than 'deciphering' the score.

yes but Martha Argerich was a genious as child too like Tiffany.

this child is a genious.... she needs a great teacher with the technique of Liszt and chopin which seems not be the case with this teacher here. It would be important that she goes on with the modern piano technique where the arm guides....
