  • Certified Intergalactic! Even if only for this single opera, Yvonne Kenny joins the ranks of great sopranos. If not for her, I wouldn't have appreciated Mitridate.

  • I get chills listening to/watching this. Bravissima!

  • Ponelle & Harnoncourt pioneered the interest in Baroque opera. In many ways, I prefer their version to later ones by early music "specialists". Ponelle & Harnoncourt honor the period (no weird modern dress versions) and REALLY understand the drama inherent in this style. Also, they avoid the overly light, white, staight-toned voices favored by some early music specialists

  • Yvonne Kenny has such a beautiful voice. She sings with such emotion. Terrific.

  • A sort of miracle..

young Mozart, Y. Kenny, Harnoncourt, Ponnelle, the orchesra, the costume designer, the camera man... one team reaching together unexpected heights of artistic expression.

  • Exquisite music, wonderful singing and acting. Brava!

  • A beautiful, sorrowful recitativo & aria by one the most underrated sopranos of the eighties. She proves to well understand the elaborate italian libretto. Full marks to Yvonne.

  • This is so beautiful.

  • Is she actually crying during the zoom in around 5:40 - 6:05?

  • yes, she is. around 3:15, tear in her eyes
