The reason why we're on track to break 1 million in profits next year is because there's demand. @fasterfind, Yes you RUIN WoW because all of that gold isn't LEGITLY in the economy, you have computers doing it which means lots of Inflation, without people like you, the economy would be different, and more corrected. Anyways, it's not like we have much of a economy problem on WoW otherwise Blizz would have you shut down with some sort of in-game updates.

@quinseq Paradoxial What kills an economy faster than anything is duping. Still hand farmers and their buyers are locked in a circle of supply and demand that is self-perpetuating. If the economy gets screwed, then people feel more compelled to buy from farmers. I've played to level 80 three times without ever taking a single gold piece of outside assistance. Blizzard did a good job, so even with farmers, there's no solid excuse for why gold farmers are needed. It's totally want based.

Pretty simple to understand. Farm 50,000 gold per month and your subscription is now an investment, not a loss.

5 characters? 1/5 exp gain. takes x5 to level them all up..
5 accounts $75 a month 40 for each expantion $400,
and if you spent that time at a real job you would made the money w/o all of the dropped money.
and a account with 1 level 80 goes for $200. if you make any money at all fom this its going to be low.

All you need is two toons.
A Prot Pally and an Unholy DK, Learn Enchanting on the Prot Pally, and Inscription/Herbs on the DK.
Prot pally due to soloing ability for stuff to DE, and the DK for unholy aura for faster gathering.
Use the Inscriptionist to make scrolls to Enchant with the chanter. then Sell them on AH.
I make an easy 1,700+ Gold a day off selling enchanted scrolls in AH. And that's on weekdays. Roughly 4.5kG+ over the weekends.
And no, I only play about 2 to 4 hours a day.

Also, you can use a Rogue as the Enchanter. Simply by stealth farming chests. But this will take alot longer. Its always best to farm with a buddy, as is lvling.
Prot-Pally/Priest, Ret-Pally/Prot Warrior, Shammy/Hunter or whatever you might like to pair with...
How ever you choose to do it, more than one account is NEVER NEEDED, don't fall into the bullshit people like Fasterfind is trying to shove you into.

Technically he accquired the ingame currency through legitimate means (i.e. not botting), so your point is invalid.
The farming was still done, he just did it for someone else at a price.
It doesn't destroy the economy, it just allows one person/group to have more control it than regular gamers.
