@Weltschmerzer So you can cricitise religions, but nobody can cricisie your opinions on them? Nothing is above cricicism, sorry to say- not even Zeitgeist.
the cross or crux has been used for thousands of years, its prechristian, and is part of the winter solstice, used by catholics who prefer to worship the death of jesus and idols of statues in thier churches, catholics have perverted christianity and thier own book, killing millions thru the centuries, and the crux has nothing to do with a crucifix, they just share similarities.

all you have to do is google "zeitgeist debunked not" and there is a newer zeitgeist video that proves all the debunkers wrong, proves that it has not truly been debunked, and it even gives references for ALL the things the debunkers said there were no proof of.
@JAKETHEGREAT11100 How exactly does zeitgeist debunk christianity in particular by making up false fantasy stories. Horus was NOT born of a virgin, he did NOT get crucified, he did NOT have 12 desciples and he basically had no similarity to the story of jesus. So please point to me how zeitgeist debunked christianity. I'm still waiting for a simple answer on that. Doubt u'll give me one.

Christians may indeed say Jesus was not born on December the 25th. Ok, well how come this particular date which so happens to be the same date as the other Sun Gods has been chosen to celebrate Jesus' alleged birthday. They could have chosen any other day but it just so happens that it's the same date of the winter solstice when the sun appeared to stop moving for three days and on the 25th resumed it's movement into the northern hemisphere again. Just a coincidence right? Ha! I think not.
who knows why the catholic church chose dec 25 ? who cares. that date is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the scriptures. the catholic church is infamous for incorporating pagan practices with Christianity. It's a total straw man
Ahh ok then. The facts speaks for themselves but hey you're entitled to believe that if you want. Me personally I love the truth (I'm weird like that)
The fact do speak for themselves. FACT- no where in the bible does it say that Jesus was born on Dec 25, period !!! what someone did afterward in terms of picking that particular date is irrelevant .
It doesn't matter whether the Bible mentions it or not. This is irrelevant. This particular date has been chosen to be Jesus' alleged birthday and is celebrated by millions of people to this day. And no, what someone did afterwards is relevant because there decisions and choices have played a massive part in the teachings and traditions of the religion as a whole. All I'm saying is that these teachings and concepts were stolen from older religions - mainly Egyptian sun worship.
these "teachings and concepts" have zero to do what scriptures actually say. if you go outside scripture, you are just making it up as you go. FACT (restated)- no where in the bible does it say that Jesus was born on Dec 25, period !!!
@Jcm9991 zeitgeist is not callin into question christianity, they are calling into question the Jesus of the bible, which modern day christianity contradicts heavily. Watch this video: /watch?v=D7GgWOi4SQM
@SupremeAmerican zeitgeist does call christianity, along with every other religion into question. id say it pretty much proved why its ridiculous to belive in god.
Forbes claims there is no evidence in Egyptian sources saying that Horus' mother Isis was a virgin. Similarly, neither Krishna (the eighth son), Dionysus (whose mother had slept with Zeus) nor Attis were ever supposed born of virgins. He points out that "son" and "sun" are not homophonic words in either Latin, Ancient Egyptian, or Greek, and therefore no such misunderstanding would occur.
By Forbes do you mean Chris Forbes? If so, I can think of some more relevant scholars who would argue with some things he said.
From what I understand, the various pop culture narratives we have surrounding these gods were not discovered in the forms we see them in, but were compiled that way by scholars who found story elements from different sites. Sometimes the elements contradict each other.
Example: Sometimes the sky is Nut, but sometimes it's Horus.
Also son and Sun may not be homophones in Egyptian, but they are definitely related.
Sa = son (hieroglyphed as a duck)
Ra = Sun (hieroglyphed as a disc)
The duck and the disc are shown together constantly next to the cartouches of Egyptian kings. Egyptian kings were considered sons of the Sun in a rightful heir sort of way, and were identified as the earthly Horus. The Sun was considered Horus of the horizon.
@tavarespe The life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus are more well documented than any other historical figure. the manuscript evidence is overwhelming . the testimony 4 eye witnesses, an iron clad case in any court of law
Zeitgeist was supposedly debunked by Christians who felt the need to twist and distort the facts in order to discredit the information the film was sending out. Zeitgeist was never debunked. Either people didn't check Zeitgeists sources or simply made up crap in order to discredit it. Typical really.
Everybody knows zeitgeist is crap. They just hate God because they don't like a judge of sin so they advocate the most irrational things like "accidental undirected chance" creating the incalculable complexity of the universe with no intelligent intervention at all. Matter just bumping around in space until: oops! what do you know? a perfect galaxy to hold the perfect solar 'system' to make the perfect temperature for the planet to raise beings that can fully appreciate it all. ...Ridiculous.
Does Stellarium include the corrections for the positions of the stars for the year 0 and x BC? It would be pointless if the stellar maps and orbits of the planets and the sun were incorrect.
a) Sirius follows Orion out of the east. The Three Kings don't follow the Dog star but it's the other way round. So it has been from the dawn of time and was more than well know to Persian/Babylonian and Egyptian astrologers. b) There is no alignment of the three kings and the dog star that takes place directly before the sun rise in December - which was the point of the debunking. All constellations can be tracked out the east and sunrise, so align to it in some way. Try version 10.2
I understood the point of the "debunking." My point is that it matches what ZG says, not what the "debunker" says. In other words the "debunker" was debunking his own misrepresentation, and not what was actually said in Zeitgeist. I pointed that out to him and he changed the subject. And I have 10.2. And your point on the "following" is misrepresentation as well, since obviously that's not what PJ was talking about, as there was an anthropomorphis taking place for comparison.
So basically what you're saying is this, Stellarium shows you that Orion and Sirius rise in the night sky sometime on Dec 24. This is called Earth rotation, this rise is not imminently before the rise of the sun as the debunker said and the NH winter zodiac would all do the same, this is not ancient astrology. Zeitgeist misleadingly states that they point to the rising sun which they don't unless you call it a point 12 hours before hand.
B) Also Zeitgeist relate it to the "christmas" story, in that the three kings FOLLOW the Dog Star in the east to the birth of the sun. It was never taught in ancient Egyptian or Babylonian astrology that the three kings FOLLOW the Dog star anywhere. Orion leads Sirius across the night sky, not the other way around, that was the point about the "following." The "wise" men in the bible, FOLLOW the star in the east to the birth of christ. It's not the same phenomenom.
Lastly - the debunker missed the point, that if Zeitgeist was correct in it's claims ( which it's not, ) then the parable would be from a time well before 1 AD. I won't delve into the probable time but at least a couple of centuries if not millenia beforehand. The story was then related to the "christmas" story in year 0. Therefore checking the night sky in year 1 is meaningless in itself.
Nope, I typed year 0. The three pyramids in Giza were constructed around the layout of the belt but where do the three kings (pyramids) follow sirius to the birth of Christ? It is you that is changing the subject.
PJ points out that on the 24th they point to the place of the Sunrise on the 25th, which they do, and Stellarium shows this. 12 hours before hand is irrelevent. Orion's Belt pointing to Sirius and the place of the sunrise is actually very noticeable, especially to ancient people obssessed with the cosmos.
@AdeptAlbatross Also adding on to your points, another problem that i can see if you want to argue with this kind of "alignment" is that it points to the sun's rising point from the beginning of November right through until February - it doesn't just specifically happen on 25th December.
But my thing is... Why is that significant, when the bible never states that Christ was born on December 25th, Nor was he crucified at that time either. Most Bible Scholars believe that the birth of Jesus was some time in the late summer. And his crucifixion did not take place until Passover, which is in the spring. Its a nice coincidence... and I guess you could draw some parallels, but causation? Thats reaching... very far.
It's all getting confused. Just like Eygyptologists + biblical scholars don't agree on the details of their own area of expertise.
The Winter Solstice (sol=sun, stice=standing still) occurs Dec 21/22=shortest day of the year. Afterwards the sun again rises higher through the daytime sky. Daylight overtakes darkness on March 20=the Spring Equinox when daylight overcomes darkness + Easter celebrated.
Crux does hang low on the horizon (parallel to the sun) as Joseph said, "Look in the vicinity of the Southern Cross..." It "stands" upright in late March through April (Easter).
Also, it always point to Virgo's mid-section, or womb, which is the point through which the eclliptic (path of sun) passes. This never changes.
Wrong kind of crucifixion. When they say Horus was crucified that's Comparitivist for [he was put on a cross]. They don't mean there was a story where Horus was actually nailed to a cross, like Jesus was. It's just a similar situation, so they say "Horus was crucified" to put it in perspective. That's comparative mythology for you.
Not according to Joseph Campbell it isn't. You call yourself a comparative mythologist? Shame on you. You can believe what you want, but a true comparative mythologist as Campbell is/was you don't even come close. You're a freakin slob that blows crap out of his ass at everyone on here. You just think you know from watching and reading, you are no scholar.
But you do know that the theory is wrong though? In Egypt for example (30N latitude), the suns starts moving the other way during sunrise around January 10th.
Oh. nm. I know what you're talking about. Look into Coptic calendar. Gregorian December 25th has shifted since then in comparison with the Julian and Coptic calendars.
I just looked at a random night, October 17th same location, same year. At midnight the stars do point to the sunrise. I mean this happens 100 days out of 365 and Zeitgeist wants us to believe something different happens on Dec 25th.
What do you mean by conjecture? That that's the assumption archaeologists or ancient cultures made even though it's wrong?
But the Winter solstice occurs in December, not October.
I'm saying Peter Joseph's statement sounds like conjecture to me, based on his research - or more likely he just agrees with someone else's research. It's not like he's trying to be misleading, nor is the person who derived the theory. I didn't say the theory was wrong. I said basically that if the conjecture that experts make is proven wrong, we can just rewrite history. It happens sometimes.
If you don't understand what conjecture is, it's basically guesswork that works off of a foundation of supporting evidence. It's not like it's stuff that people just make up. It's pretty acceptable in the field of Egyptology, and archaeology in general. It's even acceptable in the court room.
I already explained the reason why this particular timing is singled out. And no, they do not always appear aligned with the place of the Sunrise. Sirius is lower than Orion when all these stars rise. When they set, it is the other way around, and they are no longer pointing toward the place of the Sunrise. And though they look aligned while pointing up or down, when Orion appears on its side, it does not look aligned with Sirius.
" "The son died on the cross and was resurrected 3 days later on Dec 25th", completely misleading and false."
No, it's not misleading. This is the kind of conjecture experts have made for a VERY long time. Much of what we know about some areas of ancient Egypt is based on conjecture. It's very acceptable in the field of archaeology. If conjecture is ever proven wrong, then we just rewrite history, no biggie. It happens sometimes.
I haven't seen all your videos but in case you haven't heard this one, the day of the latest sunrise isn't around december 22th, and it doesn't start moving the other way on dec 25th like zeitgeist said. It depends at what latitude you are, at 45 degrees north latitude this happens around january 2n,d and at 30 degrees N this happens around january 10th. If you're interested you can read an article by NASA about that, google:
science question of the week latest sunrise earliest sunset
No, I think you're being misleading. The astrotheological myth is that orion's belt and Sirius are pointing to where the sunrise will be, shortly before it. You chose a time 11 hours before it. 6 hours after that time and it doesn't work. If you're looking at it that way there's nothing phenomenal about Dec 24th or 25th like Zeitgeist wants us to believe, this would work for a month in a row or something like that.
The reason why December 25th is singled out is because of its close proximity to the Winter solstice, and the history of traditions surrounding this time... It's not like they're saying the stars just magically appear like that at this time. That's "debunker" misprepresentation that twists these points into that.
Yeah, um, bullshit. I tried Stellarium with the same location and date as you used. On that day at that location, at about 3 PM orion's belt and Sirius are pointing almost down, and at 11 PM they're pointing above the horizon. The way you're looking at it basically any day of the year this will work, you just need to cherry pick a specific time. And also the sun rises to the east and the SOUTHERN cross is to the south, don't you think that's a little too "vague"? (PS I'm not religious)
Thank you for this video. I almost believed Christian lies. I can't even believe that these Christians exist like this. They call you dumb & a mindless robot because you choose not to believe there religion.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha thanks buddy I was going to download the program to find out because I saw one of those "debunking" videos last night, so thanks for saving me the trouble, you rule man. Namaste My Brother.
Well according to the story Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and I guess he was raised in Nazareth or something. I think I just clicked where Niquieth clicked though, which is probably somewhere in Saudi Arabia or something. I recently did a better version of this video, but YouTube deleted the audio when I uploaded it so I took it down and decided I could do it even better anyway, and I plan on doing so at some point.
Don't listen to all the haters. They can't stand the fact that they have been lied to their whole life so they get on youtube and believe everything they hear against zeitgeist but nothing that proves it. If you tell a christian jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25 they will tell you he was, if you say he was then they say we don't know that for sure. Same with the old and new testament. They only believe in what helps them at the time of the debate. Great video and once again fuck the haters.
Haha! Yeah, seriously, when people argue with me, I often cannot even take them seriously, because it gets to a point where you realize that they know they're full of shit, but they're still arguing anyway because they're that embarrassed to be wrong. Come on guys, no one expects you to be perfect.
@cbough88 no pal, jesus's birthday is celebrated on 25th dec because constantine used that date (pagan new year) to intergrate christianity easier into pagans lives, and i never met a christian who believes his birthday was 25th of december, and actually there are dozens of errors in zeitgiest, i used to like it, and believe it, until i found huge big massive holes in it..
Interesting. I had a look at more or less the same thing on Skyglobe after reading Robert Bauval's book, "The Egypt Code". You really should get a copy as Bauval goes into great detail on the alignment of Sirius at the beginning of each Sothic Cycle. Some Egyptian temples are aligned with Sirius and even built over with a new alignment centuries later. The Serdab of Djoser (Joshua of 1 Samuel 6) though is aimed at the Circumpolar region.
I don't know what post you're talking about, so, no, I didn't. The only posts I've ever deleted were from this guy called joopq. Basically he went a bit off topic and started acting all childlike if I remember correctly, kind of like what you're doing... hey, wait a minute... joopq?
Anyway, I had a different YouTube philosophy regarding what I would allow back then. I don't censor anymore. But I do block people who misrepresent me
Young man, you posted a comment to me that said this issue is irrelevant, yet you have posted a video about it. Are you even more stupid than I imagined. Do you have even less honesty and spine than I supposed? You're a confused kid out of his depth, or you wouldn't be posting such blatant contradictions of yourself. Yes, you deleted my responses to you because they exposed you as "none too bright" but you can't run forever from your own lack of education or intelligence.

God DAMN you talk like a neurologically challenged stoner. Like, dude, listen closely to the arguments of both sides. Trust me, Acharya S is no scholar. She's a laughingstock among genuine Biblical scholars. Dr. Robert Price used to openly speak the truth about her, but then he got to know her---he's a fat ugly dude and she's hot--and they became friends. So he stopped telling the truth about her. Look, its easy to check Dottie Murdock out. It's alll here on YouTube, you don't have to even read.
Sure, keep getting angry and insulting me. I'm still going to respond with a video, not a text debate, because this is YouTube, not AOL instant messenger. Be patient, and I will respond to you with a video, and I won't insult you even once.
crap nonsense lies and more BLATHER, first of all there was no 3 wise man in the bible they are not numberd so this NONSENSE IS NONSENSE and you believe it I pitty you
Honestly, it really makes no difference because the 3 wise men comes from tradition. No one is claiming it comes from the Bible. Seriously, try reading the Bible and you will see what real nonsense is. I mean Yahweh is a just a magician that lives in a mountain, and he appears in the form of fire descending down this loud, smokey, shaky mountain because he's a fucking raging volcano god! Hahahaha!
look you better stop eating mushrooms, you are just saying nonsense, dont expect any further comment coming from me, I am not willing to waste my time, with someone who bases his "facts" in his wild imagination and believes the first CRAP that he is presented to, you should learn to do your own research ,my dear robot friend,I study the bible and I know its meaning, I hope you someday take this seriously, to stop and THINK ( BRAINCELLS are REALLY useful, you still have some no?)
You're going to stop commenting? Fuck. I thought I had a new friend to argue with, and point out absurdities in the Bible to. I guess you don't like me though.
I know I'll get a bunch of slaves to give me all their gold, so I can melt it into a golden bull calf... wait a second... Why would a bunch of slaves have a bunch of gold on them? I don't know what I was thinking... Oh wait, that's right; That's what happened in the Bible!
The point of those you are trying to contradict is that this stellar configuration is not unique to December, but is actually more pronounced in other months. Again, you do not understand that the NT gives no date for the birth of Jesus, nor do you seem capable od comprehending that since the first Christians did not celebrate the birth of Jesus on this date or any other date, this whole argument is pointless. This would have meant NOTHING to people living in the time of Jesus. I'm not Xian.
I'm not into these comment debates. I will do a video. Hopefully it will clear some things up, because I really hear this "shepherds in the Spring" defense a lot, and it's actually irrelevant, and I want people to realize that, so they will quit using it as though they have some revolutionary inside scoop, when really it doesn't matter, because no one is claiming the December 25th thing comes from the Bible.
Hey Chelev..umm...if you're not into comments debates what the fuck are you doing making a contentious and stupid video. Read your words. You go to all this trouble to disprove a point you say is irrelevant. I again recommend a standardized IQ test for you, as well as substance abuse rehab. That way you can come to understand your extreme limitations intellectually and you'll stop doing these irrelevant videos. Do you even know that the Zodiac as WE know it didn't exist in the time of Jeebus?
The New Testament GIVES NO DATE for the birth of Jesus. December 35th was an invention of the Catholic Cjurch hundreds of years after the time of Jesus. The NT does say that the shepherds were out at night watching theit flocks. That only happens in the SPRING when the sheep are birthing lambs. What a basic Acharya Asshole mistake.
Good GOD you're barely coherent! Have you ever taken a standardized IQ test. You really should. It would help you immensely with plotting your life's course.
Hopefully you'll understand if I don't feel that was a very constructive criticism. But I will basically be doing a better version of this video in my "Zeitgeist Debunked? Don't Make Me Laugh" series. But, hey, thanks for voicing your opinion anyway.
The problem with panbabylonism is that, it assumes there were always 12 constellations of equal 30 degree measurements. However this is not true.Sumerians and babylonians had as much as 19 different constellations at points in history.Libra was taken out by the greeks and re-inserted by the romans.Libra used to be the "claws" of Scorpio. this idea was popular from about 1850-1930.Unfortunately for you believers it has been refuted.Ask any top astronomer today or jst research yourself.
nowheretorun1984/ntr19842 blocked, and video response removed. He has proven to be a spreader of deceit, misrepresenting not only Zeitgeist, but myself as well.
Of course it does this every day for months. It's not like the stars just pop into view one day and disappear the next. And no one is claiming they do this. And I set it to 1 AD. Let's not misrepresent things okay.
Yeah, it does. That's why if you go back to 10,000 BC Sirius only briefly peaks over the horizon with Orion's belt already out of the picture. But at night in 1 AD, doesn't look too different from today. Maybe you should get an updated version, or check again, or better yet, stop misrepresenting Zeitgeist just because you don't like what Peter Joseph had to say about your religion. I don't know if you misrepresent things on purpose, but you definitely misrepresent them. Not cool, man.
the thing is when the sun actually rises on 25th Sirius and Orion's belt are on the other side of Earth, so theyre not pointing to anywhere.
Another thing is: i tried to simulate other random dates and in like 7 out of 10 that i tried Orion's belt and sirius are aligned sometimes even more accurately. the theory doesnt make sense.
"the thing is when the sun actually rises on 25th Sirius and Orion's belt are on the other side of Earth, so theyre not pointing to anywhere."
You're being deceitfully guided by the "debunking" video. Zeitgeist says that on December 24th those stars point to where the Sun will rise on December 25th. So, paying attention to the dates, you can see the argument is flawed because it addresses a non existent point. And Stellarium backs up what Zeitgeist says. That is all that is relevant here.
The fact that Sirius and Orion's belt are aligned all year round is also of irrelevance.
The sun is born daily, therefore it would make sense for this to be the case. Granted, that may not be appropriate in regards to the Christian mythos, but the Egyptian mythos preceding it featured Horus being born every morning, and Osiris dying every evening.
ok well first of all it is the christian myth that is of importance not the egyptian. And second of all, if you actually check yourself it is only on some days that sirius is pointing to where sun will rise, on others it isnt, so even that is wrong. Either way, it is certainly irrelevant to claim that the fact that orion's belt and sirius point to where the sun will rise is the reason he is born on the 25th. Why not on any other day which is the same astrologically?
To correct dudekin, Sirius is not actually visible year round, (closer to like half a year) but the point he makes is still valid. Truth is there were different Egyptian cults, just as there were different Christian cults. So you don't want to take a complex issue and over simplify it. In short though, Christianity borrowed from multiple Egyptian cults. Study the cults and traditions, and read the Bible, and you WILL find evidence of this.
December the 25th is the day in which the Sun begins it's ascent, as opposed to it's previous descent.
Secondly, if you'll actually take care in reading what I said, you will find that I never stated that Sirius was visible all year round, I said 'Sirius and Orion's belt are aligned all year round', although Sirius may not be visible, it's still the case.
"the three stars are supposed to point to the siruis and teh sun all at once"
Because you say so?
"The Star in the East is Sirius the brightest star in the night sky, which on December 24th aligns with the 3 brightest stars in Orion's belt" ... "The 3 kings and the brightest star Sirius all point to the place of the Sunrise on December 25th." - Peter Joseph, Zeitgeist
That is what I backed up. The "refuters" aren't even addressing things as they are presented. They're making shit up
The Zeitgeist Movement is Marxism in disguise.

@Jcm9991
who knows why the catholic church chose dec 25 ? who cares. that date is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the scriptures. the catholic church is infamous for incorporating pagan practices with Christianity. It's a total straw man

The fact do speak for themselves. FACT- no where in the bible does it say that Jesus was born on Dec 25, period !!! what someone did afterward in terms of picking that particular date is irrelevant .
biggbaddjohn 1 year ago
@biggbaddjohn
All I'm saying is that these teachings and concepts were stolen from older religions - mainly Egyptian sun worship.

minus the stellarium this is what i have to say
Forbes claims there is no evidence in Egyptian sources saying that Horus' mother Isis was a virgin. Similarly, neither Krishna (the eighth son), Dionysus (whose mother had slept with Zeus) nor Attis were ever supposed born of virgins. He points out that "son" and "sun" are not homophonic words in either Latin, Ancient Egyptian, or Greek, and therefore no such misunderstanding would occur.
chainsmoker211 1 year ago
@chainsmoker211
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
@chainsmoker211

Zeitgeist was supposedly debunked by Christians who felt the need to twist and distort the facts in order to discredit the information the film was sending out. Zeitgeist was never debunked. Either people didn't check Zeitgeists sources or simply made up crap in order to discredit it. Typical really.
Jcm9991 1 year ago
Everybody knows zeitgeist is crap. They just hate God because they don't like a judge of sin so they advocate the most irrational things like "accidental undirected chance" creating the incalculable complexity of the universe with no intelligent intervention at all. Matter just bumping around in space until: oops! what do you know? a perfect galaxy to hold the perfect solar 'system' to make the perfect temperature for the planet to raise beings that can fully appreciate it all. ...Ridiculous.

a) Sirius follows Orion out of the east.
AdeptAlbatross 1 year ago
I understood the point of the "debunking." My point is that it matches what ZG says, not what the "debunker" says. In other words the "debunker" was debunking his own misrepresentation, and not what was actually said in Zeitgeist. I pointed that out to him and he changed the subject. And I have 10.2. And your point on the "following" is misrepresentation as well, since obviously that's not what PJ was talking about, as there was an anthropomorphis taking place for comparison.
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
So basically what you're saying is this, Stellarium shows you that Orion and Sirius rise in the night sky sometime on Dec 24. This is called Earth rotation, this rise is not imminently before the rise of the sun as the debunker said and the NH winter zodiac would all do the same, this is not ancient astrology. Zeitgeist misleadingly states that they point to the rising sun which they don't unless you call it a point 12 hours before hand.
AdeptAlbatross 1 year ago
B) Also Zeitgeist relate it to the "christmas" story, in that the three kings FOLLOW the Dog Star in the east to the birth of the sun. It was never taught in ancient Egyptian or Babylonian astrology that the three kings FOLLOW the Dog star anywhere. Orion leads Sirius across the night sky, not the other way around, that was the point about the "following." The "wise" men in the bible, FOLLOW the star in the east to the birth of christ. It's not the same phenomenom.
AdeptAlbatross 1 year ago
Lastly - the debunker missed the point, that if Zeitgeist was correct in it's claims ( which it's not, ) then the parable would be from a time well before 1 AD. I won't delve into the probable time but at least a couple of centuries if not millenia beforehand. The story was then related to the "christmas" story in year 0. Therefore checking the night sky in year 1 is meaningless in itself.
AdeptAlbatross 1 year ago
Did you say year 0?
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
Nope, I typed year 0. The three pyramids in Giza were constructed around the layout of the belt but where do the three kings (pyramids) follow sirius to the birth of Christ? It is you that is changing the subject.
AdeptAlbatross 1 year ago
Well, I don't know if you caught this but Jesus was a Sun god.
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
There's 3 pyramids constructed to correlate with Orion's belt. Gues what's buried in those pyramids. 3 kings.
Anyway you're changing the subject too now. This video is about what Stellarium shows.
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
PJ points out that on the 24th they point to the place of the Sunrise on the 25th, which they do, and Stellarium shows this. 12 hours before hand is irrelevent. Orion's Belt pointing to Sirius and the place of the sunrise is actually very noticeable, especially to ancient people obssessed with the cosmos.
ChelevSaRa 1 year ago
@AdeptAlbatross Also adding on to your points, another problem that i can see if you want to argue with this kind of "alignment" is that it points to the sun's rising point from the beginning of November right through until February - it doesn't just specifically happen on 25th December.
streetlightcollusion 1 year ago
Intersting point...
Thats reaching... very far.
micsteroni 2 years ago
It's all getting confused. Just like Eygyptologists + biblical scholars don't agree on the details of their own area of expertise.
The Winter Solstice (sol=sun, stice=standing still) occurs Dec 21/22=shortest day of the year. Afterwards the sun again rises higher through the daytime sky. Daylight overtakes darkness on March 20=the Spring Equinox when daylight overcomes darkness + Easter celebrated.
YnoT0207 2 years ago
Crux does hang low on the horizon (parallel to the sun) as Joseph said, "Look in the vicinity of the Southern Cross..." It "stands" upright in late March through April (Easter).
Also, it always point to Virgo's mid-section, or womb, which is the point through which the eclliptic (path of sun) passes. This never changes.
YnoT0207 2 years ago
horus couldnt have been crucsified because crusifiction was ade by the roman empire
1984vrs 2 years ago
Wrong kind of crucifixion. When they say Horus was crucified that's Comparitivist for [he was put on a cross]. They don't mean there was a story where Horus was actually nailed to a cross, like Jesus was. It's just a similar situation, so they say "Horus was crucified" to put it in perspective. That's comparative mythology for you.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago

MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
What does January have to do with the Winter solstice?
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
Oh. nm. I know what you're talking about. Look into Coptic calendar. Gregorian December 25th has shifted since then in comparison with the Julian and Coptic calendars.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
In case that's a little vague, that's why old Julian calendarists still celebrate Christmas on January 7th.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
I just looked at a random night, October 17th same location, same year. At midnight the stars do point to the sunrise. I mean this happens 100 days out of 365 and Zeitgeist wants us to believe something different happens on Dec 25th.
What do you mean by conjecture? That that's the assumption archaeologists or ancient cultures made even though it's wrong?
MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
But the Winter solstice occurs in December, not October.
I'm saying Peter Joseph's statement sounds like conjecture to me, based on his research - or more likely he just agrees with someone else's research. It's not like he's trying to be misleading, nor is the person who derived the theory. I didn't say the theory was wrong. I said basically that if the conjecture that experts make is proven wrong, we can just rewrite history. It happens sometimes.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
If you don't understand what conjecture is, it's basically guesswork that works off of a foundation of supporting evidence. It's not like it's stuff that people just make up. It's pretty acceptable in the field of Egyptology, and archaeology in general. It's even acceptable in the court room.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
What's astrological about December 25th compared to Dec 19th, or January 2nd?
MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
I don't know about the traditions surrounding this time, but Zeitgeist specifically said that "The birth sequence is completely astrological".
"On dec 24th Sirius aligns with orion's belt" , that's not true.. it's always in the same spot compared to each other.
"The son died on the cross and was resurrected 3 days later on Dec 25th", completely misleading and false.
Everyday 2 months before and after xmas there is a time of the night that the stars point to the place of the sunrise.
MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
I already explained the reason why this particular timing is singled out. And no, they do not always appear aligned with the place of the Sunrise. Sirius is lower than Orion when all these stars rise. When they set, it is the other way around, and they are no longer pointing toward the place of the Sunrise. And though they look aligned while pointing up or down, when Orion appears on its side, it does not look aligned with Sirius.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
" "The son died on the cross and was resurrected 3 days later on Dec 25th", completely misleading and false."
No, it's not misleading. This is the kind of conjecture experts have made for a VERY long time. Much of what we know about some areas of ancient Egypt is based on conjecture. It's very acceptable in the field of archaeology. If conjecture is ever proven wrong, then we just rewrite history, no biggie. It happens sometimes.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
I haven't seen all your videos but in case you haven't heard this one, the day of the latest sunrise isn't around december 22th, and it doesn't start moving the other way on dec 25th like zeitgeist said. It depends at what latitude you are, at 45 degrees north latitude this happens around january 2n,d and at 30 degrees N this happens around january 10th. If you're interested you can read an article by NASA about that, google:
science question of the week latest sunrise earliest sunset
MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
No, I think you're being misleading. The astrotheological myth is that orion's belt and Sirius are pointing to where the sunrise will be, shortly before it. You chose a time 11 hours before it. 6 hours after that time and it doesn't work. If you're looking at it that way there's nothing phenomenal about Dec 24th or 25th like Zeitgeist wants us to believe, this would work for a month in a row or something like that.
MaximoosAwesomoos 2 years ago
The reason why December 25th is singled out is because of its close proximity to the Winter solstice, and the history of traditions surrounding this time... It's not like they're saying the stars just magically appear like that at this time. That's "debunker" misprepresentation that twists these points into that.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
Zeitgeist says basically that on December 24th the stars point to the place of the Sunrise on December 25th.
ChelevSaRa 2 years ago
Yeah, um, bullshit. I tried Stellarium with the same location and date as you used. On that day at that location, at about 3 PM orion's belt and Sirius are pointing almost down, and at 11 PM they're pointing above the horizon. The way you're looking at it basically any day of the year this will work, you just need to cherry pick a specific time. And also the sun rises to the east and the SOUTHERN cross is to the south, don't you think that's a little too "vague"? (PS I'm not religious)

Yeah, it does. That's why if you go back to 10,000 BC Sirius only briefly peaks over the horizon with Orion's belt already out of the picture. the thing is when the sun actually rises on 25th Sirius and Orion's belt are on the other side of Earth, so theyre not pointing to anywhere.
Another thing is: i tried to simulate other random dates and in like 7 out of 10 that i tried Orion's belt and sirius are aligned sometimes even more accurately. the theory doesnt make sense.
WaitingxxRoom 3 years ago
"the thing is when the sun actually rises on 25th Sirius and Orion's belt are on the other side of Earth, so theyre not pointing to anywhere."
You're being deceitfully guided by the "debunking" video. Zeitgeist says that on December 24th those stars point to where the Sun will rise on December 25th. So, paying attention to the dates, you can see the argument is flawed because it addresses a non existent point. And Stellarium backs up what Zeitgeist says. That is all that is relevant here.
ChelevSaRa 3 years ago
The fact that Sirius and Orion's belt are aligned all year round is also of irrelevance.
The sun is born daily, therefore it would make sense for this to be the case. Granted, that may not be appropriate in regards to the Christian mythos, but the Egyptian mythos preceding it featured Horus being born every morning, and Osiris dying every evening.
dudekin 3 years ago
ok well first of all it is the christian myth that is of importance not the egyptian.

Why not on another day?
December the 25th is the day in which the Sun begins it's ascent, as opposed to it's previous descent.
Secondly, if you'll actually take care in reading what I said, you will find that I never stated that Sirius was visible all year round, I said 'Sirius and Orion's belt are aligned all year round', although Sirius may not be visible, it's still the case.

lol, dude, the three stars are supposed to point to the siruis and teh sun all at once....your vid doesnt show that. it shows that it does NOT.
