  • I wonder how they make that shrieking noise

  • Great song. Layne was on something very odd when he wrote these lyrics. And it wasn't heroin. I'm trying to piece together what these lyrics mean. I guess nothing.

  • Snap her neck, or trade in for new make.

  • I wish more of this album was played live. I know why it wasn't but it didn't get the recognition it deserves.

  • i cant remember is a better version of this song , that what my brain tells me

And my brains are no good for peanut butter

  • @liveafterdeath100 This song doesn't sound like "I Can't Remember". Perhaps a slight similarity in the verses, but the chorus, harmonies, rhythm, distortion, and production are completely different.

  • it's like if Kurt Coban teamed up with Layne Staley to create this freaky strange amazing song!!!

  • @SynVenganceShadows wrong. it's "the nothing song sticks to your mouth like peanut butter on the brain"

  • @thenin10dowiiaccount i know but whole grain sounds better xD * funnier

  • Those damn voices.... and the way they melt together! No other band has that element! AIC is fucking fantastic. Hands down one of my favorite bands of all time!

  • @metalmaiden310 Saigon Kick had great voices like that. Check out the song 'The Lizard'

  • @ThatS0meBadHatHarry Hey man! Thanks so much for the rec. I am checkin' em right now and totally diggin it! \m/

  • I just love eating peanut butter sandwiches and listening to this wonderful song.

  • @sick8721 mmmmm peanut butter sandwiches! :)

  • This song keeps getting stuck in my head.....like peanut butter on the brain ohhhh hohohohoho!

  • And the nothin' song sticks to your mouth like peanut butter on the brain... what a sick song lol! I love it. AiC for life <3 +1 for SixToothSun's comment

  • peanut butter on the brain!

  • Tripod is such a bizarre album...it has a really creepy, disorienting feel. I absolutely love it!

  • @SixToothSun Soooo right. The vocal harmonization is so perfect, it's nearly impossible to decipher who is singing what part.

  • hey you know what song is scary? Swing On This by Alice In Chains. It's meant to be a swing style song and just a weird kinda makes you happy song but its dark as hell. i mean even if you shut out the lyrics its scary especially when it hits the chorus its like a strange paranoa.

  • this song is so catchy! I love Alice in Chains, i prefer the old AIC with Mike Starr and Layne Stayley..... amazing band! always will be the greatest. <3

  • I love the new Aic album but AIC will never ever be AIC without Layne!

  • ALICE IN CHAINS...THE BEST BAND EVER!

  • nirvana sucked i tried to get into them but couldnt

  • @jamesg1978. I personally love Nirvana, but everyone just doe not find them interesting. Kurt was cool, and I respect your opinion.

  • @Boganator4 i love nirvana too. you're not alone!!

  • @jamesg1978 Me neather mabye because he wasnt like layne like we thought and the music was sooo differnt

  • FUCKING LOVE 0:29

  • AIC piss all over nirvana

  • that would suck to be mad famous and not be happy.. poor guy.. his dad being a piece of shit is the reason hes not around.. if his dad is still alive, fuck you!!! fuck you phil staley!!! you faggot fuck i hope you fucking die ill kill you myself faggot... long live aic though.. fuck you laynes dad... FAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @PezoCon love>hate

  • @godlyskunk...* thumbs down *

  • suit yourself.

  • chill dude, what did his dad do anyways

  • What did he do? And, I dont think Layne would like you to say these things anyway.

  • this and sludge factory are my 2 personal fav by chains

  • Mine is Again.

  • the nothin song sticks to the mouth like peanut butter on the brain

  • bands now forget the importance of originality

  • aic are great musicians, they are very well inspire for having the good spirit to make such great song like that . they have good imagination as well...awesome .love alice in chains 4 ever !!!1

  • @metalteenkitty imagination and lots of heroin

  • gotta finish so i can awake feed

the cat or she spreads all the waste

snap her neck or trade in for make

  • This is the kind of song that breeds in my so much respect for Alice in Chains and the creative forces that made it what it was. Long live Alice, rest in peace Layne Staley.

  • I love Alice and Chains for songs like this. So many trend hoppers who dont even know what good music is would group this as Grunge, but this one song says otherwise. Jerry Cantrell is one hell of a guitarist.

  • Very bad example this time. AIC is rather an alternative metal band, but NS is a real grunge song, as those of the authentic grunge of the end of 80s ( Melvins): heavy and slow rhythms, dissonant guitars, dark atmosphere...

  • I love Alice In Chains 7 Nirvana & these guys love Melvins so much but i just couldn't understand why i don't like Melvins, they're just noise, like anybody can do type of band.

  • a lot of bands obviously started out listening to the bands that were there at the time and ive listened to a lot of music and not a lot of people would like their favorite guitarists band or favorite singer favorite band

  • did they never perform this song live? it is one of the most touching alice songs. can really feel layne's mind in it. especially when he sings with that ayaheeeee in his voice....ayaheeee nothin' ever stays the same. he loved people but he wanted to be left alone. his mind was such a contradictory one.

  • Nope, it has never been performed live (sadly). Along with Brush Away, Head Creeps, Shame in You, and So Close.

  • whta the fuck is he talking about, oh yea nothin, lol

  • man those are my favorite aic songs. i would kill to hear layne sing those.

  • It really does stick to your brain like u know what

  • Well the nothin song sticks to your mouth

Like peanut butter on the brain

    Nothin ever stays the same

.....Jerry+LayneThomas=GENIUS ROCK GOD CREATORS. lovelovelove you alice! rip

  • Dont forget. Mike Inez or Kinney, they were just as prominent as the others!

  • yeahh. i didnt forget them. i commented this almost a year ago.

  • King Darko

  • this song is amazing!

    rip layne staley

william duvall cud NEVER take ur place

  • mylesmedlin55 I could not agree w/ you more at the end of you comment.. am for damn sure Mr. DuVall realizes this fact and goes w/ the flow of AIC's now current line up.

I don't wanna sound corny, but, damn I miss hearing something new from Layne and co.. but, that terrible habit of his kissed his ass goodbye. Fuck.

  • @mylesmedlin55 ya he never could take layne's place but he still is a great fill in and i think personaly there new album is great for not having layne

  • @mylesmedlin55 Well William has done a pretty good job, even though no one can replace Layne. Will has done alot for the band and has realy tried hard to get them back to mainstream, which, I can guarantee you, will happen. Layne was still better, but Will is awesome. RIP all of those dead.

  • This song fuckin creeps me out

    In a good way

It's got that dark, Eastern jangle to it

  • this iss such a weird song but i still fuckin love it haha

  • I don't drink, but this seems like it would be a good drinking song!

  • those high harmonies are what make the song so haunting. Layne was a great singer, I wish he was still here. This is a great song, next to Head Creeps. The whole cd is amazing, they don't make records like that anymore, it's a shame AIC is the best. RIP layne.

  • this song was always my least favorite but i wish layne couldve performed it live tho same with brush away and shame in you

  • the whole aic album for this song is outstanding. i never knew song lead into "frogs". you can hear the frog croaks near the end of the song.

  • Great tune... this is what you do when you have writers block great chour

  • Awesome.

  • Thanks for this....made my day at work
