In this case I used reducer not water because this are solvent colours..About ratio it depends, for first hand "coat" nearly 70% and low pressure..than, more dark less reducer and more pressure!

Overreduce all you paint and let the psi be between 2,0 & 3,0 and claen much you gun then you see happen..but you have spend lot time every day..is the key to other asking u how you do it.lol

@chiger9999- what expensive brand airbrush do you have? mine is badger 175 im getting hard to control it, i cannot spray to close to the subject, it blows a very large amount of paint, even the pro airbrusher here i ask help about my airbrush, even them they cannot find the reason..its depend on the brand airbrush you have..but i heard a lot of good thing on IWATA Eclipes HP-C.......you can spray closer to the subject...

I think everyone need his own brand of airbrush, it depends..I don't work well with paashe (for example) but I see a lot of people make a masterpiece with paashe , or badger..It depends to you..when you know you're working with the right pressure, right colours, right surface...and a lot of patience and you can't work well, try another brand, just to see the difference...maybe you need just more time. If you want to paint closer to the surface, you need lower pressure.

@Ministuntriding Thats quite a nice airbrush, do you definetely have the needle fully inserted into the airbrush and fastened in place?

@Ministuntriding what air pressure are you using? Too much can cause that. Check your owners manual to be sure, but, I run around 40psi at the tank and it drops to around 20psi or so when the trigger is held open. I use an Iwata HP-CS and a cheaper off brand, and can get as close as I want with both. Keep in mind also that there is a balance between, paint flow, speed, and distance. If your getting to much paint up close, try to move faster or drop your air pressure,or both.

Gosh ! how do you control the flow man ? I have a expensive airbrush set and I cant control the flow for nothing . cant do nothing with out blotching the flow sigh!

this is an iwata hp-bh, and now I don't use anymore the control under the airbrush..it depends just for your sensity! more time and patience!:)

Awesome video portraits are my favorite thing to do. Man that dual action is so tough to get use to, but once you master it, it shows.
