  • Back in the 90s when talent actually matters.

  • what else can i say....they are damn good!!!

  • It sad to think that this is a dying art. Nowadays all the pop music is all about "in this club", "I'm richer than you, I'm makin' rain", and all that auto-tune crap!

  • 日本人として嬉しい。幸せです。 I'm very happy as Japanese.

  • UUHHHMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is it, when I look through the comments, obama pops up in most of them? That aint obama. Lets get this though our thick skulls people!!

  • That's how obama worked his way through college

  • (^v^)いいね~

  • Beautiful job! They can sing and harmonize for pure enjoyment!

  • I've always loved this song. Still gives me goosebumps.

  • good version, great voices

  • 他們的和聲實在太棒了 很和諧 !

  • MY COUSINS RAY LEAD VOCALS, BOBBY BASS VOCALS, WITH FRIENDS MARTY AND LARRY. THEY MISSED MY WEDDING. THEY WERE ON TOUR IN JAPAN., JUNE 1995

  • in japanese this could help japan

  • From when the camera pans right to left, lets see who we have

    (from right to left):

    1) A black Steven Seagal

    2) ...hmm..this one is hard....tyrese / kobe / ??? Gimme an idea

    3) John Leguizamo

    4) Barack Obama / Tiger woods / Don Cheadle or Joe Morton (Dyson from Terminator 2)

  • oh woah! is that really obama?! LOL!

  • Combination of Obama and Tiger Woods? Anyway, I also like the version of this song.

  • Best English version by far.

  • When can i get this on CD in Australia

  • @kimaussie1 (1)...find the delorean, go back in time to 1995. Buy the single for $7.95 then return...and now you have it :D

    or

    2) I don't think music stores sell them anymore. Try HMV, Sanity, Kmart, but I doubt it. Try online sites. or just search for the MP3. By the time you read this, you would have already have the song.

  • This is a great cover on the song.

  • Tiger Woods belongs on the Golf Course. Indeed, this is Obama territory. (Say no more.)

  • BIG ups to Ray and Larry ... but I still sing better than both of you, LOL! I said it 20 years ago and I am sticking with it, LOL! :-)

  • At 0:19 when he said lonely...that was tight..I would of end it right there and left the stage..lol

  • This is awesome acapella!

  • amazing!

  • Saw them the last night, and they explained the story behind the name of the song which was pretty funny. Didn't know they were actually kinda famous.

  • @vicarious709 You want to share that story?

  • He is Tiger Woods. Not Obama.

He has started as a singer.

  • 「years from here」

    Please・・・

  • Obama can't touch these guys, there are good looking and talented.

  • Young Obama !

  • OBAMA YEAH!!

  • fantastic

  • Comment removed

  • Obama can only hope. These guys are totally cool. Obama can't touch them.

  • So these were the manies that stole that song from the original singer!

See, they went to Japan and heard the guy singing it and wanted it for themselves...so they stoled it!

    Xd

  • i wish real music was back... T_T

  • Perfect harmony, perfect melody. Very in tune with eachother. These guys are awesome!

  • My favorite English version of sukiyaki. Thanks for sharing ^_^

  • nice rip off of Kyu Sakamoto's beautiful song! how nice it is that they didnt even use any of the original lyrics! bravo 4 P.M.! good jorb in slaughtering a wonderful song such as this and turning someone elses work into a cash cow for yourselves!

  • @AryzonaRose leave obama alone or i'll kick your ass.

  • @aquafishsoup funny...i dont recall saying anything about obama.

  • Awesome talent and harmony ! Thanks for posting !

  • Such talent- totally awesome!

  • So Obama side job is singing at a pub?

  • stark

  • @Chenoan OMG LMAO... I thought exactly the same thing when this video started.

  • @Chenoan OMG! I agree with you about that...

    You see...he is HORRIBLE!

  • @Chenoan ... baby that is Ray Pena and I know him ... He was FINE 20 years ago and he is STILL fine today :-) BIG UPS to my boys Ray and Larry ... :-)

  • OBAMA IS THE BEST DAWGGG

  • U make me laugh so bad....haha~ they look so alike..haha

  • LOL!!! that's funny!!!

  • @temporaryuploader Indeed, with a beautiful voice and lots of charm!

  • @temporaryuploader Nope, you see...

Obama has a clone that he sends out to do these things for him...

The clone has smaller ears, that's how you can tell...

  • Some of artists that have sung & released this song, 'Sukiyaki'

    Kyu Sakamoto (original 1961 Japan, 1963 U.S.)

    A Taste of Honey (1981)

    Selena (Spanish, 1989)

    4 P.M. (1995)

    The Cover Girls (1996 )

  • I'm sure it has been covered by other artists, those are just the ones i know of.

  • Also around 2003 or 2004 Trish Thuy Trang[Vietnamese american singer]

  • trish thuy? she's pretty, but i don't like her voice at all.

  • aww.. makes me feel all warm and soft inside. ^_^ i love the acappella version of this song! anyone knows where i can find the full japanese acappella version of this song? any singer will do =)

  • @KLiMin the original singer is Kyu Sakamoto (1963)its on youtube. Actually this song sort of compliment the original thus both a sad song.

  • This group isn't the original singer right?

  • no, original singer was Japanese, song has an Asian vibe to it doesn't it, when I was younger I actually though the singer of the English version was Asian.I really like this song.

  • Very beautiful version. Sometimes the simple songs/ lyrics sound best.

  • Music in the old days are SOOOO much better. I miss this song, and most especially, I miss my someone. :(

  • miss you so so muchhh

  • now thats what you call GOOD VOICE

  • Yep, not like the singers nowdays who can't sing and are made to sound like they can sing thanks to modern computer audio editing software. Britney Spears had tried to sing live recently and a clip of it ended up on TMZ and she sounded awful. Kevin Skinner isn't that bad, either.

  • i love this song my boyfriends the one who sent me this song now its our song!!!!!!!!! Thank you for posting this its like the best!!!!!!

  • barack obama at 0:05! hahaha

  • Lol, the singer at 0:05 looks like barack obama doesnt it.

  • a little bit yeah lol

  • Haha, I'm not the only one who thinks so.

  • Love it!ahahahah..^_^

  • ein super schönes lied

  • best version

  • i didnt know the title of this song until my ex bf sent me me a video presentation with beautiful quotes and the background song is this..from that on i love this song already..

to you my ex bf, hope u will realize dat i really loved u and am still loving you.. i know u want to come back to me & i really want to say yes to you again but i guess its not yet the right time..

try to fix urself 1st and if ur still willing to comeback to me be sure ur 100% sure of ur decision

    I STILL LOVE YOU!!

  • Artists these days just aren't the same as what they used to be...*sigh

  • @ dgto7 not to be offensive.......but these days? Good Lord! These guys are from these days! It's not like they're from the 60's or the 70's when 95% of the groups were of their caliber!

We share the joy of listening to this song so don't worry, be happy. =;-)

  • By these days, I mean year 2000+. There aren't many artists like these guys left still making music. I don't believe 13+ years to still be considered "these days"

  • dgt07.......I thought 4 P.M. was still around, no? If they are still around then they are currently "in theses days", right?

I ribbing ya! I know what your point is......be good and enjoy it while it's still legal to listen to!

  • Ah! I didn't know they were still around. My apologies.

  • i very like this song this is the one of my favorite. i love the meaning of the song very beautiful.

  • Excellent version of a great song. If you like it, then you may also like the acappella version by the VariAsians. (They start slow, but go faster after the first minute.)

  • Comment removed

  • what ever it is......i'm loving it......

  • awesome acapella

  • omg omg! i've been like searching everywhere for this song! this song is like one of the best songs ever! :]

  • I think this song is wonderful, too, and I like Sakamoto's original version as well. But if you consider these gentlemen to be thugs then you might as well conclude that every rapper in the world is a peace activist. When these guys start talking about "bitches, hoes, ass, alcohol, and cash" THEN they should be disapproved for being the thugs they are. That aside, thank you for what you have done for your country, sir. You have my gratitude and my salute!

  • This song is wonderful, but the way they sang it is even more wonderful! They look older here than in their original music video. Their voices became better with age.

  • lol, original song sang by japanese..

    kyu sakamoto..

  • smexychica1995 your an idiot... this song was written by Kyu Sakamoto in 1963. Look it up if you dont believe me.

  • maybe shes dumb cuz shes young, prob born in 1995

  • this sog was sang by a and old japanese man..lol..

  • sry kid the original is from Kyu Sakamoto back in the 60's its called Ue wo muite aruko

  • Of course it's by Selena! Sukiyaki is a Spanish word anyway. Check your facts kid.

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO this was sarcasm towards smexychica1995... I don't need shit from other people.

  • Gay

  • I seriously hope they were not lyp-synching, cause that was an impressive performance!

The only complaint I have was that they got too "cutesy" with the final "the sun would shine and once again you'll be mine" part. But that's only a minor complaint; other than that the performance was perfect!

  • one word Obama

  • haha! that means obama can sing!

  • ei guys try to check out "Ahmir" here on youtube...they're really good too...

  • (・∀・)イイネ!!

  • damn now that is a damn nice song with a damn nice group of singers bringing justice to that song ;)

  • Touched!

  • noone sing like them anymore =[

  • Watch Ahmir.

  • Now this is what I call "cool".

  • i thought the first guy was obama at first! hahahaha

  • LOL.

    Very Nice.

  • Me too. LOL

  • pure raw talent....I wish we have more of these type of artists today instead of the ones that usually have to rely on some computers to fix their voices

  • I agree that it is rather impressive. There are still a bit of artists today that go the natural way. For example... Silverchair has long been against computer editing cause they feel that it doesn't capture the true feeling of the song or the art of the performance.

  • i just love how soothing this is<3

its now one of my favorites.

  • doo wop slow

  • wateva happened to music like this??

  • now everything is modernize,

    every little thing is edited.

  • i love this band

  • i like this 1. its better than de japan version

  • Comment removed

  • I haven't heard this song for so long. I'm surprised that they didn't come out with any more songs.

  • classic !

  • Singing in English, with English subtitles.... clever.

  • it helps for those that like to sing a long... ;) since some of us dont know the lyrics... "dun Dun, oooh weee oooh"

  • KARAOKE!

  • I think those subtitles were because this was originally from a performance in Japan...

  • Awesome! brings back memories,if they are still together,i'd like to show them some original song material i've recently written i think would be a perfect fit for their style.

  • This is great stuff 4 pm was so under rated!! I love these guys!!

  • His name is Ray Peña...das my dad 2...NO LIE...rinababii is my lil sister

  • tha lead singer is my daddy!!!!!! luv ya daddy!!!!=D

  • Well you tell your dad,I love his music I'm a big fan!!I love all there cd's!!!

  • hey can u ask ur dad if theres any instrumental or is it just acapella? because im planning to sing it for my spring concert. thank you.

  • obama!

  • I would be so much more excited to see a group like this, than much of the crap I hear on the radio today. I miss the doo-wop groups so badly.

What was the name of the lead vocalist. He is great.

  • Beautiful!

  • brings back the old days.

  • Comment removed

  • man i was 8 when this came out. still a great song.

  • Is that Keith Hunn?

  • Ummm wow does the lead singer look like a young obama ???

  • I thought that too! LOL

  • ROFL!

  • yesss..HAHAHA!

  • Comment removed

  • hahah

  • he does when i opened this vid and saw him obama came to mind

  • Think the originator of this song would be proud if he heard it. Well... Maybe except that guy hitting that high note sharp at 1:04

  • Great vocals. I've never heard of this group but I have heard this song. The original japanese and Taste of Honey's version. If anyone knows what year this was and what show they performed this on, please let me know. Just curious.

  • Yh he really does. I thought it was him

  • the 1st singer looks like obama

  • LOL

  • i love 90s male vocal groups..and of course 4pm,too!!

i read this music's lyric for my first time and was a little surprised at that it was more different from the original Japanese one than I had expected...

Although I like it, the Japanese one has I think more aritistic beauty;i guess the euphemism might be the character of Japanese, though

  • love this song. Amazing

  • It's not bad I guess... The vocals are great, but I still prefer the original japanese version. It's still a great song though

  • This is good music. It is a million times better then the music they have nowdays. All of the teenagers and friends that I deal with make fun of me because I have this song and bands like Phil Collins/Genesis and other 80s/90s bands on my MP3 player. Even Britney Spears music nowdays is crap when compared to Baby One More Time and Oops! I Did It Again. Her remake of My Prerogative sucks when compared to Bobby Brown's original. Enough Said.

    Ben

  • my life is just a rainyday...

  • i think that this was better than the original a tast of honey did it first then 4 pm and now they did it without the music if you realy want to know if a group can sing catch them live

  • the 'original' was actually by a Japanese artist Kyu Sakamoto. In its original japanese language version it still topped the charts back in the 60's

  • The original was in Japanese and was called "Ue wo mu ite arukou" by Kyu Sakamoto. It was released in America in 1963 under the title Sukiyaki, for some random reason, and reached number one in the charts.

    Both versions are fantastic!

  • haven't heard the original Japanese version, but I agree that this version is better than taste of honey's...i just like 4 p.m.'s sound

  • nice... love tune with prefect wordings... It really touched my feelings. thanks for the add Anshar1....
