Why should the Catholic people have to fell ashamed about our Irish Catholic Nationalist culture . We do not advise other sports to change the names of their clubs, to suit our way of thinking,so why should the Prods keep on harping on about the names we give to our GAA clubs. We are what we are, a Irish Catholic sporting and cultural body, set up over 100 years ago to help protect our Catholic sporting and cultural pastimes. Why fell ashamed of protecting and promoting our Catholic culture.

They set up the GAA to counteract the huge intrest Irish Catholic youth had in games such as Cricket, Football , Rugby . They called these games garrision games or forign games ,and set out with a clear and determined aim to demonise them amongst the Irish Catholic people, and they still to this very day have a imense hatred of p1

I'm a protestant from the north of Ireland and I play Gaelic games for my local club as do several of my friends.

THE GAA IS AN OPEN ORGANISATION which contributes immensely to the community life of our island nation. It's about community and identity and not money like soccer and rugby. That 's why nationalist communities are tight knit and united as opposed to withdrawn and loose protestant ones.
