Anybody ever wonder why the government only takes your money when you break the law but never actually helps you find a alternative solution? Or does anybody ever wonder why a drug that relaxes you and creates peace and makes you question authority is illegal but a drug that causes violence, rape, ignorance and crime is legal and regulated? Is authority inherent or just a man made invention?
First time i heard this song was when i actually started to hear music and that wasnt until i was 19. Before it was noise without a key. After hearing some Nine Inch Nails my mate put this album on and i was on another plane. I was no where near my body, nor was i chained to my mind, i was just gone and all there was, was this song and nothing. A Perfect place to go and relax. If it wasn't for Tool and Nine Inch Nails i would be bashing my head off a table until my brain slid across my life!
i hope people realize what it really took for maynard to write these lyrics. obviously its not about writing the next new hit song with a catchy hook. its more than sitting in a room with a pen in the dark. this was all about experience. i mean to put a song together with this melody and lyrics takes more than most song writers. fuckin amazing song

They're lyrical genius's and instrumental genius's.
They're a group that tells the truth and everything of life into a "song"
They're gods of themselves, and many.
They are just amazing. They either.. HELP you become a better person just by listening to them, or you can atleast relate to the "song".

It's not a retelling of the Narcissus story, it merely makes Reference to the Narcissus story
the song is about someone who is lost Not in his own beauty but in Self Pity and Loneliness. Furthermore he DOESN'T pine away, he turns to see that he is not alone but is One with the rest of the universe.
it really has more in common with buddhist or hindu themes than greek, but it does reference narcissus in the lyrics

Right now, this is my favorite song in the whole world.
Nothing can compare to this song right now, it just totally sucks that so many others just skip the song once they hear the intro and does not match their taste.
Just listen a bit to tool, especially reflection cause even I gotta admit, it was the toughest song for me to like, but once I started listen to it regularly it has become the best song I've almost ever heard.

i plan on listening to this song at least 30 times tonight.
Tool is Not ahead of their time, time does not have a base value. but if time brings your comfort and sanity I believe the phrase is "every other band is behind Tool a 1000 years". But again since time has no base measurement its somewhat safe to declare that there are Many times and they exist side by side. Like in an electron-The particle is in more than 1 place a the same time. Take Time out of the Equation&There is no paradox.
