Ok pets important cus they add another few hundred dps. but survival makes crits almost non stop and the mana regen is sweet and bm is so boring compared to sv or mm

well, I haven't stopped by here in a while, but something has to be said. For all those wondering why my shiny ghostwolf stayed by my side the entire time: in all phases Illidan leaves a ring of fire on the ground that instantly kills your pet, and since pets automatically attack from behind (atleast they did when I played last) well, you get the idea.

True, this is one of those fights where surv can actually catch up to BM. Even w/ the pet specced for fire resist it'll go down so easy.

A 3:2 Rotation does exist, and it is ONLY possible with a macro, there for it IS a macro. a 3:2 rotation is simply a /cast !autoshot /cast steadyshot with whatever you want in it, kill command for example. It gives optimum dps for a BM hunter who knows what there doing. there reason it doees a steady steady auto steady is because it waits untill auto is off cooldown to fire, therefor its based on attack speed. And thats it.

Steady, Steady, Auto, Steady, Auto i thought that was kind of obvious.

But when it is with Auto/Multi it isnt spoken of as a 3:2, more of as a 1.4/1.5:1.

Hey dude, I was wondering if you could help me upgrade so I'd be able to successfully use the that critting survival spec. Can you please tell me what to upgrade. Wowarmory me. I'm "Thrivey" lvl 70 hunter. I currently use the gear i have on except t4 shoulders/leggings. Also, i'm not sure as to where as I should use crit rating gems or hit rating gems. Thanks, Thrivey

hit till capped, crit and agi when you are capped with hit. if your survival go crit on yellow and agi on rest. info on gems (atleast thats how i do it and dont have any probs)

dont go crit on every yellow, thats just foolish, ull end up with more hit then u need. u should socket ur two green gems for ur meta, then put agi everywhere u possibly can. only put anything other then agi if u absolutly have too. also, if ur using cheeky's, ull notice that sometimes, losing some hit to gain some agi will acutlaly increase ur DPS, depending on ur amounts.

Until 4 piece tier 6 you should be using a 1.4:1 or 1.5:1 macro as Survival ^^

1.5:1 = same as 3:2

and 1.4:1, is that even a real rotation?

1.5:1 is no where same as 3:2..

1.5:1 means 1.5 spells to 1 auto shoot.

those spells are steady shot; arcane shot and multi shot.

3:2 is purely steady shot and auto shoot.

and 1.4:1 is when you have 5/5 in improved arcane shot (reduces cooldown by 1 sec)and 4/5 Gladiator gear (reduces cooldown of multishot by 1 sec)

wrong, 1.5:1 means 1.5 special shots to every auto shot. 3:2 means 3 special shots to every 2 auto shots. also, 1:1 is purely steady shot and auto shot, not 3:2. and finally, 1.4:1 - this isn't a real rotation, u are still using 3 specials (steady, multi, arcane) to ur two autos, making it a 3:2 rotation, even if they are on reduced timing. + no one would ever spec 5/5 imp arcane and wear 4 peice glad in anything past kara, so who would wait till 4 piece T6 to make the change?

using macros for your shot rotation.. wheres the fun n that ? if your think your pro for saying that Wnt2 youre not. shot rotation macros take all the fun out of raiding.... as your have friendly competitions with other dpsers ( nothing that overaggros ofc). pve is about fun and not about being the best ( although we all seem to want to be the best). enjoy the game and the life dont let stuff be done for you. do it yourself

the only shot rotation macro that exists is 1:1, nothing else is reliable. also, its WAY more anoying to manually time your own shots, not to mention it draws attention away from the fight itself, and lowers ur DPS. I get much more enjoyment out of being able to play out the fight and do so in a top guild.

the better you are, the more of the game you will see.

and @grimmreaper520 you obviously havent gotten passed Kara cause to be able to hold your own in Hyjal/BT/SP you need to be using a macro..

a 3:2 macro does not exist, u can not make a macro to go: auto, steady, multi auto, steady auto, steady arcane auto, steady auto, etc etc etc.

not after patch 2.3~ i think it was. all u can do is throw a /cast random arcane shot in there, which is terribly unreliable

People are so intimidated with this fight. It's very simple. I ran in this without reading or seeing any strategy and had only 1 mage and we did it easily. It's just a few different phases repeated for 10 minutes or so. not very hard. It's really just a retard check.

Get a wind serpent bra. You can keep it back to avoid any aoe damage and you get around 200-400Ish damage every time you crit. Assuming you have go for the throat. All you have to do it spam click Lightning Bolt. :) Easy.

ah word, maybe you could replace your cat. it's a real improvment since you're critting almost every shot as SV. it ussually adds like 300 dps for me last I checked.

Atm my hunter is BM spec. Raiding ssc, Tk starting MH. I wanna re spec to survival sometime... But I heard that it's only a good idea once you've got some t6 gear?

well, thats how it used to be. now anyone who has a guild that runs kara can get T6 equalivilent gear from badges. the badge gear easily makes up for it. + with the 10 agi gems from badges, u can easily to well without actualy T6 gear.
