@caboose36 The Cortex does not need to be plugged in after tuning, once programed the system does not have to be used again till you want to change a setting, if you want to keep it plugged in while driving it has a bunch of things you can view on the fly. Yes it automatically stores factory settings, when you first connect it, all you have to do to return it to stock is plug it back in and select return to stock. factory settings in theory cannot be lost, they are stored in the tuner itself.
Chevy would be my second choice, right after the F150. I just can't afford to keep throwing money into GM products every time they break down. And Ford is one of the most reliable now. According to Consumer Reports. Right up with Toyota and Honda.
@utuberevlimitracing Having a superchips cortex programer in my truck has not voided my warranty. You just have to make sure you plug in the programer and return it to stock before you take it to the shop for work. I have had some warranty work done to my truck and they have not questioned my tuner at all.
I have the Superchips Cortex that is a plug-n-play. All that has to be done is pluging it into your truck then changing the settings through a programer. It is easy and quick, and better than that, if you have a warranty on your truck/car still you can plug it back in and set it back to stock so your warranty cannot be terminated. Also you can change your tire size for the speedometer, and read error codes.
I agree! I had Superchips on my 5.4 3v, with headers, intake and exhaust. Their tune made it run too lean, and my spark plugs ran too hot and wore out in 10k miles. I got a custom tune and the motor even sounds better.
they give a better grip on the wheel, also when my hands are dirty i dont have to worry about getting the leather wheel dirty, i just throw out the cover and get another one
i agree wit you on this one. i have an 08 texas edition ext cab with superchips flashpaq volant cai, jba headers magnaflow cats thru same flowmaster muffler (sighs"my baby") and i have a mossy oak steeringwheel cover because working at fed ex i get my hands extremely dirty and im just trying to preserve the cleanliness of my perfect machine oh i have the matching seat covers.

Get rid of the Superchips and get a custom tune, like HP tuners. It will remove all tq management and abuse modes.
I have a extended cab 07 5.3 with a JBA exhaust, intake, and custom HP tuners tune and its faster than yours. A custom tune makes a BIG difference
