This is rather intriguing. In order to have this disorder, your brain must recognize that the swear words are labeled as socially unacceptable, right? And it's interesting...why does your brain choose swear words? Why not simply...the days of the week or something along those lines?

@kaybee218 yeah, I always wondered about that. It's the worst part of Tourette's having the version called Coprolalia. Having the disorder, I agree with you. It has a lot to do with the OCD part, probably having the feeling of "I have to say it, but I can't, but I have to" type of thing, feeling that something catastrophic will happen if you don't. I also have Bipolar Disorder and my OCD is from the actual disorder itself, not just TS. I think chemically OCD is where the swearing OCD starts

I think the reason we cuss or whatever in a certain language, its more than likely that language is the first language we speak. For me I cuss in German, when I cuss in English you know Im in control of my vocal cords. SO I try to cuss, if I need to, in English. Unless I get angry enough I cuss in English, when Im not having a "fit" as my mother likes to call it. Btw That shepherd is cool.
