Would there be a way to run multiple instruments (like a guitar and a couple keyboards) into Live for easy looping like the guy demonstrates on the guitar? What kind of pedal is that used for looping - is it a new product specifically for this or a generic foot trigger that could be bought now?

depending on the amount of inputs on your sound card you should be able to track multiple instruments at a time. the foot trigger is not specifically for the software. I'm not sure what kind of foot trigger that is but if you are interested i can send you a link to a usb foot controller.
