I haven't seen enough of the new series but I like that they brought Hatch back. Anyway "unnecessary wacking". That line has a new meaning than it did watching this as a little kid.
As a dedicated fan of the original BSG, I was reluctant to give this new series its due. I'm just now discovering S1 & 2 on Hulu & I have to say I'm loving it. It truly is an exploration of the human condition. Each episode has me on the edge of my seat, & that is what great story telling is suppose to do. The original series like all things 70s was a bit surface,& more feel good. Kudos to the writers of this awesome reinvigorated, re imagining. The original show will always have my heart though
"Brock Peters is also known for two roles within the science fiction franchise known as Star Trek, as Admiral Cartwright in Star Trek IV and Star Trek VI, as well as had a recurring guest role as Joe Sisko, Captain Sisko's (Avery Brooks) father in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."
GREAT!!! ending even by cheesey 70's standards...i'm sorry but the Ron Moore version of Starbuck and Apollo just wasn't as good as this due to the sexual tension/romantic angle...Larson's version was just about a SOLID friendship between to very different characters..you don't see this much anymore in the role reversal PC/EMO 21st tv/movies of today that deal with strong male characters
@vardiss22 Yeah, this show was a fave of mine as a kid. I remember when they'd show re-runs on Saturday afternoons, then I think there were daily runs a few years later on some pre-scifi network. It may look dated in some ways, but in terms of acting, plot, characters, and adventure, it still holds up!
