i have a question about the 'kink' part where you mention to follow the direction of the clip...what does that mean? what clip part are you talking about? i keep getting those kinks..lol. thanks
OMMG! thank you for this tutorial! My hair does the thing you mentioned where if you curl it from bottom to top, only the bottom of the hair is curled and it's just awkward. (i don't even have very long hair) Love your tutorial!
I love your videos! very informative, well explained, and had a lot of helpful tips! :) Pretty much the only curling video i have watched so far that didn’t make me irritated and impatient. Thanks :D
Thanks so muchh! I was so confused as to why i kept getting funny marks at the bottom of my hair and thanks to you i now know i was going the wrong way to the clamp haha! Thanksss ! xx
this helped me a lot :) thanks. I just bought a hot tools curling iron today and I was sooo discouraged after doing one side of my head. I found this and it looked better after, but Ill definitely need to practice some more. Oh and I burned my neck. That felt nice.
nice vidl, thnx for the tip imma try it. in case u wanna get another curling iron i recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Clipless Ceramic Tourmaline Curling Iron, it works pretty well :)
@ihearttheworld03 well depends how long do you keep it on when ur curling it maybe thats why its only 10 seconds 10 mins it could get damaged so careful and do u use protection for ur hair maybe thats why i get the same things wehen i dont use air spray hope dis helped
i have the same barral/clamping iron you have.. can i just say guys if you really want to have an achey arm for 3 minutes whilst it curls your hair go ahead.. so i bought the mark hill curling wand and it works a treat.
omg thank u soo much i have looong hair like almost to my bottom and i kept wondering why it wouldnt curl all the way and u explained it so easy thank u i am going to try it ur way i hope it works!!!
THANK YOU!! I have been trying to figure out how to curl my hair for 3 days. Every time I do it I end up with awful kinks in it that make it look awful. Maybe it seems like a no-brainer to most people, but I had just about given up. I searched the internet for solutions but couldn't find any good information. The part in your video where you explain the kinks was a life saver. Thanks again!!
erica! i just bought this iron, but how come when i try curling my right side of hair, it turns out perfect, but if i try to curl the left side, theres clamp marks? pls answer :(!
Try the sebastian trilliant thermal protection spray, its professional and is a great thermal protection that will keep your hair healthly and plus it has shimmer-complex in it. =]

I use both the chi fusion and the 44 iron guard. Both are excellent. But def recommend the 44 iron for heat protection. Best curls instruction I've seen so far. Thanks
Hey, just wanted to say that this is a really helpful video :) I suck at curling my hair, because it's really long and thick and I always "kinked" my hair when I tried. I really doonn't get why I keep getting the clamp marks? Or the kinks, whichever you want to call them. Haha, it's making me so madd. But amazing tutorial:)
You saved me! I'm going into my freshmen year of high school and I wanted to do some things with my hair since it's so plain and I had the curse of the kink at the end! Haha thanks so much that was so thorough I can't wait to have hair that is curled for school! Especially since I have long, thick, and wavy hair! ha
I use a product called "Earthly body Marrakesh oil with hemp and argon" I think you can find it on google if you search it up :) and you put it on when it's wet so you can protect your hair from the blow dryer :) Or you can use some heat protectant spray to blow dry when it's wet and then spray it on again, and then style it. I usually put on the oil as a "finishing" kind of thing because it adds shine, and it keeps your hair straight (if you're straightening) I don't think it works with curls.
just wanted to give you a heads up that when you were putting on the silk infusion ur causing split ends by moving your hair back and fourth on the ends! that causes split ends so i wouldnt do it if i was you.......
I love those curls that u got using the hit tools. I was originally going to get a 1 1/2 in but I like this size better. How much was ur hot tools curling iron? Does any1 know where I can getv1 rly cheap?!?!!
Hey there, thanks for explaining the difference between rolling towards and away - I ALWAYS end up with that kink, and I had no idea why. Also - great tip for longer hair, starting to curl up higher. Thanks for the video!
Check out the brand new White Sands Curling Iron on our channel. This curling iron is marcel and spring all in ONE tool: a must see for all beauty lovers!
Just wanted to say that the Silk Infusion will NOT protect your hair from the heat, it is NOT a heat protector, it's a serum to make your hair shiny and soft, CHI 44 Iron Guard is what protects your hair, so for all people who are using the Silk Infusion as a heat protector, it is not protecting your hair, basically useless.
It is true that Silk Infusion claims to give you healthy, soft, and strong hair. But the product also recommends using heat when styling with this product to infuse the proteins into your hair. Using this product with heat does have benefits.
@ericaleung13 Heat just makes the product work better, or activates it if you will, it doesn't mean that it protects your hair from the heat and the damage that can occur.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! That kink thing really helped me, because I was getting that so i went on youtube and typed up curling iron tutorial, and you popped up and explained everything PERFECTLY. THank you so much!
I did my hair like this for Christmas this year. It looked exactly like yours. I have the same cut and color. Even right down to the blond low lights. I am definitely purchasing this curling iron. I have a super old Revlon. This looks like it is super quick. My hair is a bit shorter so I am going to get the 1nch barrel.
Hi 32mm is good try amazon they have babyliss pro ones othe brands in the uk only make crappy slim ones the 38mm just leaves big waves for that in the wind look.
I've been looking for ages to find a good curling tong to use in the UK. Toni and guy do an okay one- it gets to 210 degrees but the 38mm (1 1/2 inch) can make curls that drop really quickly. I've ordered a gold curling tong by Wigo-like hot tools one- in a 1 1/4 inch size from the USA it gets just as hot as the hot tools one but if you order from the USA make sure it's a dual voltage one so you can use it over here with an adaptor. USA have different voltage to the UK.
HI thats exactly what i did but most electrical products from the USA (unless they are dual voltage) will not allow the voltage to be altered. I have a dual voltage one now and that works fine but the hot tools ones won't work anywhere else but in the US. It's really dangerous to plug a non-dual voltage electrical product from the USA in a UK socket (with an adaptor)as usa voltage is 120 and uk is 240 so you could basically blow up the house or yourself :S
No way!!! There goes my plan to get it from America then! lol- oh well, off to Argos/Boots I go then. thanks for that, I always (rather naively) thought you could just use an adapter!
I know i was so gutted i bought a hot tools and the gold babyliss pro one!! You can still get one, i'm getting the gold Wigo dual voltage one which gets as hot as the hot tools one and i'm told it works better. Why can't we get really hot curling irons in the UK!??
i always gett the ponytail dent too. lol when my hair is wet at night i put it up to go to bed, and in the morning its alll wavy and gross! i hate itt tooo
Hey there! I always get asked how I do my hair, I do it EXACTLY like you--it was like watching me--I even have the exact same curling iron!! I'm going to send them to you!! Beautiful!! :)) Lisa
Oh I'm sooo glad you found it helpful!! Try to practice a couple times before the wedding to make sure you get the result you're hoping for :) Good luck!!
