@747823 No, Getting inspired is the right thing to say. You see, in the metal world you can say at almost any band, at any song "They stole this riff from that song from that band!!". While the artist who wrote the song maybe doesn't even know he has "stolen" a riff, so that's why I call it getting inspired. I mean, it's always the same notes they play, only the order on how they play it is different. And all those combinations one day will end. Resulting in guitars with even more strings lol
@NitroCoasters Every riff has been pretty much been done it's just a matter of changing speed, order and length. I think it was Rob Zombie who said that Black Sabbath already did everything and everyone that follows steals from or is "inspired" by them whether they know it not.
If you like Sybreed, check out AMERAKIN OVERDOSE on reverbnation and you can see some of their videos on my page. They are a new up and coming band from the NW with a very unique sound and a great live show. They play a mix of Metal / Industrial / Trance type of music. Leave some comments and let your friends know.
@narutoman93 America actually got tons of good band, such as the post metal pioneers Neurosis ("A Sun that Never Sets" is an amazing album) and Isis (I love "Panopticon"). My favorite metal subgenre is avant-garde I think, and there are very good avant garde metal bands such as Yakuza (I reccomend "way of the dead") or Azure Emote ("Chronicles of an Aging Mammal").
@hockeyluva77 it sucks a dark halo isn't together anymore. one album and done. they had so much potential, they could've made many more awesome albums
Every song on this album is great. Isolate and this are my 2 favorites though, amazing songs! The part from 4:14 onward is just spine tingling, its so epic and large scale sounding, I can't contain my emotion. The feeling is so overwhelming and beautious that it can't be explained in words. Sybreed did a spectacular job on this album, The next one will follow similar fashion. Of course, not forgetting how awesome slave design was. Thanks for your music sybreed, its exhilirating!
I was actually thinking the other day how well their sound fits that universe, the intro to "Isolate" makes me think of a ship traveling through hyperspace, or in a giant space battle.
This song has so many different styles within it it would be impossible to classify. I mean, i hear hints of math metal, black metal, goth rock, industrial...
This is amazing. I've never heard anything like it before. So deep and powerful, the whole song is a rollercoaster ride.
It's a fan-made term for bands that use unconventional time signatures. Listen to Meshuggah for a better idea of what it is. Note, however, that most bands that play this style usually deny the idea of math metal, mostly because it's, like i said, a fan-made term.
this song is brutal :D

Obviously. I'm anti- intellectual property anyway so I wouldn't care even if it was "stolen". :)

The piano/guitar part sounds like pure demonic epicness while the superb drummer blasts beats that make the ears pop with awe. Sybreed is AMAZING.
