I would say SRA is my favourite. There are more levels and missions and the game play is longer than most Sonic Handheld Games. Sonic Rush was extremely difficult and drawn out which made it the last of my favourites. Colours has a decent game play but the fact that it has no tricks made it bad.
Having played through all three of'em, I'm gonna have to say that Rush Adventure is my favorite of the three, in terms of level design, with Colors being my second favorite.
Sonic Rush and SRA: "YEACOOLYEAHALRIYEAHCOYEYEAHALRIGHT!" I get that it's likely due to the levels selected and the skill of the player, but I just found it funny that it was just basically nonstop exclamations for the entire stage.
People say the DS Sonic games are not like the Genesis titles, too easy, just hold right, blah blah blah. Personally, I was having too much fun to care.
Rush Adventure looks like it may have the best level design, however. I don't think I'll be a big fan of what's replaced the special stages, though. Out of the three games, I like the way Colors controls the most. Adventure is definitely a step up from the first Rush in that regard, however.
Not sure where I stand on the bosses, although it looks like Rush has my least favorite, mostly because of the instant kill attacks many bosses had.

Pressing the R button ends the trick mode, but allows you to dash in a certain direction based on which way you hold the Dpad, Pressing the A button also finishes but gets you more points instead of launching you.
Sonic rush have Stylish action boost, Sonic colors DS have wisps and stomp and I agree Sonic colors DS is hard to learn first due to habit of sonic rush and sonic rush adventure but when mastered it is more fun
@omegasonic2000 Why does it matter? Regardless, I think having a point of comparison is a good shorthand reference for the quality of something. If you can say, "X is better than Y", it allows the person in question to say, "Well, I didn't like X, but maybe I'll like Y."

@gaspar19991 Sonic Colors dosen't have abusive tricks to fill the boost meter that you have to hear over the music, and Sonic Colors doesn't have Jason Griffith.
Wow, I almost forgot how good the Rush games are. While Colors DS is slower and shorter, I do like that it has more moves and powerups, but it's too bad they had to get rid of the tricks and most of the cool 3D transitions. Great comparison video. :)

i think of Sonic Colors DS as Sonic 4 Episode 2, not Sonic Rush 3. Why? Other then the fact that in this game and the Rush games, he runs insanely fast, it improves on most problems in Sonic 4's physics that had the same problems in Rush, but still contains the improvements made in Sonic 4. So um...yeah I just don't usually use boost anyways so it's ALOT like Sonic 4 episode 2.
The original Sonic Rush is still the best out of all 3. Most platforming (without the aid of powerups, I mean Sonic alone), most speed, most reflex-needed action.
I, for one, completed Sonic Colors on the DS. Although I have never played the Rush series, it looks like an equal match to Sonic Colors. I mean, Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure looks so much more fast-paced, but Sonic Colors uses the Wisps as a chance for the player to figure out how to use them to get through the stage. I can't figure out which one is better!
i really did like the sonic rush games, they stayed true the series back in the genesis days. sure they were fairly short, but when you got tired of 3D sonic games. That's when we all need 2D sonic games. sorry for my rant there, but if sonic can stay in 2D more, then would be great.
Rush and Colors DS feels so linear, due to that each game is very based on on rails boosting, with no mommentum at all, All Ares in the level design is based around boosting and finding multiple paths to boost through.
The Classics had mommentum and Careful platforming you weren't just tapping the boost button to Blow every thing a way.
Colors Wii really captures what made the classics too great, and it doesn't feel linear due to mommentum,many paths,platforming and exploration.
sonic colors is like a mix of Sonic Unleashed 2D day time and Sonic Rush. meaning he has moves like the homing attack, slide, stomp etc. but in a sonic rush like environment, and with color power-ups which is a fun add.
take it from a person who've played all 4(SR,SRA,SU,SC) =)
From what I've seen of the ds version of colors, it will bring a lot more flow to the rush series, I want to get this one before comparing the two though.

Sonic Colors by far is my favorite out of the DS series. The areas are more detailed, better platforming in my opinion, FUN missions, and very replayable. When I used to own Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure, I would put it in my DS, play the first level and shut it off because I was bored of it. When I whip out Colors DS, even though I completed everything but the red coins, I do an almost full playthrough will only slightly less excitement when playing.

this is basically about how the player is at the game, in sonic rush the player used the boost everytime and on colors the player in the video was more relaxed, so i think that if someone does a comparison, that person needs to play both, then compare

I got Sonic 4 on my iPod and it sucked I played the colors demo and had to break a few habits with controls cause I'm so used to rush controls cause I have and have beatn both rush games
i like all of the rush series and all but colors gives more to the ds rather than rush and rush adventure. In colors you are restricted in boost but at least they give you the wisps and all the stuff that were in unleashed like wall jump and stomp and etc, yeah you can't do tricks in colors but then it makes the game seem longer since you can't just boost through the stages so easily.
@FieraDevilWings Because it is. The thing is, Sonic Rush was built specifically to be Sonic Rush. Sonic 4 was trying to be a classic Sonic game, but had controls like a Sonic Rush game, which don't really work right in classic-style Sonic levels. So it was a mess.
@BlazeHedgehog - Well, that's true. Although with the fan's complaints it could be said (by me anyway) that Dimps almost completely forgot to fix that issue while creating the new engine. They'll get it right in the next episode, I'm sure :)
Btw, you travelled to Sonic Retro and saw their Refund Program thing yet? It's a competition where people post their anti-gravity Sonic images and the most voted one will get $15 back (cost of Sonic 4 Episode 1). They're in the Finals as I saw before...

I'd have absolutely NO PROBLEM with Sonic Colors DS, EXCEPT
The way Sonic runs in that game is so...Slackishly lazy. He looks like he has a handicap when he's running without boosting. D:

i think of Sonic Colors DS as Sonic 4 Episode 2, not Sonic Rush 3. Why? Other then the fact that in this game and the Rush games, he runs insanely fast, it improves on most problems in Sonic 4's physics that had the same problems in Rush, but still contains the improvements made in Sonic 4. So um...yeah I just don't usually use boost anyways so it's ALOT like Sonic 4 episode 2.

The original Sonic Rush is still the best out of all 3. Most platforming (without the aid of powerups, I mean Sonic alone), most speed, most reflex-needed action.

@darksilver133 lol XD. Sonic Colors can be a bit slow at times but the wisp powers and lock on homing attack makes up for that. lol

I, for one, completed Sonic Colors on the DS. Although I have never played the Rush series, it looks like an equal match to Sonic Colors. I mean, Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure looks so much more fast-paced, but Sonic Colors uses the Wisps as a chance for the player to figure out how to use them to get through the stage. I can't figure out which one is better!

i really did like the sonic rush games, they stayed true the series back in the genesis days. sure they were fairly short, but when you got tired of 3D sonic games. That's when we all need 2D sonic games. sorry for my rant there, but if sonic can stay in 2D more, then would be great.

Rush and Colors DS feels so linear, due to that each game is very based on on rails boosting, with no mommentum at all, All Ares in the level design is based around boosting and finding multiple paths to boost through.
The Classics had mommentum and Careful platforming you weren't just tapping the boost button to Blow every thing a way.
Colors Wii really captures what made the classics too great, and it doesn't feel linear due to mommentum,many paths,platforming and exploration.

sonic colors is like a mix of Sonic Unleashed 2D day time and Sonic Rush. meaning he has moves like the homing attack, slide, stomp etc. but in a sonic rush like environment, and with color power-ups which is a fun add.
take it from a person who've played all 4(SR,SRA,SU,SC) =)

From what I've seen of the ds version of colors, it will bring a lot more flow to the rush series, I want to get this one before comparing the two though.

Sonic Colors by far is my favorite out of the DS series. The areas are more detailed, better platforming in my opinion, FUN missions, and very replayable. When I used to own Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure, I would put it in my DS, play the first level and shut it off because I was bored of it. When I whip out Colors DS, even though I completed everything but the red coins, I do an almost full playthrough will only slightly less excitement when playing.

this is basically about how the player is at the game, in sonic rush the player used the boost everytime and on colors the player in the video was more relaxed, so i think that if someone does a comparison, that person needs to play both, then compare

@Bluestreakteam Actually dude he's a member of Sonic Retro and other major sites in the sonic fandom and is the lead programmer and level designer in some of the best sonic fangames that the scene has ever scene. So don't go demeaning others until you know who THEY are.
So the fact that he is a BIG sonic fan and the fact that he's made brilliant fan games just goes to show that he knows what goes into a good sonic game.

I got Sonic 4 on my iPod and it sucked I played the colors demo and had to break a few habits with controls cause I'm so used to rush controls cause I have and have beatn both rush games

Sonic Colors DS suffers from the same lazy physics as Sonic Rush. The least Sega could have done was make Knuckles or Tails playable :/

i like all of the rush series and all but colors gives more to the ds rather than rush and rush adventure. In colors you are restricted in boost but at least they give you the wisps and all the stuff that were in unleashed like wall jump and stomp and etc, yeah you can't do tricks in colors but then it makes the game seem longer since you can't just boost through the stages so easily.

@FieraDevilWings Because it is. The thing is, Sonic Rush was built specifically to be Sonic Rush. Sonic 4 was trying to be a classic Sonic game, but had controls like a Sonic Rush game, which don't really work right in classic-style Sonic levels. So it was a mess.

@BlazeHedgehog - Well, that's true. Although with the fan's complaints it could be said (by me anyway) that Dimps almost completely forgot to fix that issue while creating the new engine. They'll get it right in the next episode, I'm sure :)
Btw, you travelled to Sonic Retro and saw their Refund Program thing yet? It's a competition where people post their anti-gravity Sonic images and the most voted one will get $15 back (cost of Sonic 4 Episode 1). They're in the Finals as I saw before...
