Tantric rocks! Are they still doing music or what? Haven't heard from them in a loooong time. This whole album (that Astounded is on) was one of my favorites growing up. Definitely a good album and a great song here. Not many artists can sound exactly like the CD in an acoustic session... but they definitely pulled it off here!

Actually hugo gave the boot, jesse vest the original bass left first. Bruce Lafrance (sp) replaced then all where replaced after the underground tantric3 was complete and huge is all that remained. But Todd Whiteners solo shit is kick ass so fuck it

Well, Tantric is still very much alive and well. Hugo is all that's left (which is fine with me because you can teach anybody to play a effin' song on guitar...you can't teach anybody to sing like that.) They put out an album last Feb. called "The End Begins" and it did well ("Down and Out" made the charts and even advanced to round 1 of grammy nominations) Next album is finished and coming out soon. June or July I think.

His new line up of guys are awesome Erik, Rich, Marcus (the bad mo-fo that makes playing the violin look so cool. lol) and Joe. The coolest guys you could ever hope to meet. I saw them after "The End Begins" came out and Hugo was just walking amongst the crowd and kicking it with his fans! He pulled me on stage, even invited me to have some drinks with the band after the show, and ended up with a nifty picture of myself getting a big ol' wet one from Hugo. lol. Best concert eeeevah!

Well, before Tantric, they were Days of the New (minus Hugo, and plus Travis Meeks) and it sounded pretty similar. I think the sound they have now sounds way different from anything since they picked up Marcus to play violin.

I guess I relayed that wrong. I was saying that Days of the New and the older Tantric sounded similar. (thats why it says 'sounded' instead of using present tense.) I was just making mention that even with a new singer, the style was alike. Travis may have liked acoustics a little more though. I do think that the first Tantric album is by faaaar the best. I did not make any reference to the sound on the new album not released yet. I haven't heard any of the music to place judgment.
