I gotta say I'm somewhat dissappointed in my SP DD35a...its so "Plain Jane" insofar as detail is concerned...not to mention that its 3 inches smaller that the MTH DD40AX that I sold on ebay to make room for this engine (many regrets now).
Thanks Eric for another great review. I was at one of the hobbyshop vendors today at the WGH Train Show in Chicago. He had a powered U.P. and Milwaukee Road DD35A's for about $539.00 but, I opted for the Santa Fe AC6000 Warbonnet next to it instead for $430.00. Keep up the grat reviews. Lookin forward to that Ice Cold set.
do they have fright or passenger cars that have sound boards in them? ive always wanted to have cars like that because without those normal air hose sounds and screeches they make in real life it just sounds so boring you know?
it sems that all of the things that it is missing or wroung you could add your self. like paint over the "dependable transportation" and add a decal saying "we deliver". buy a little led strobe light and make some sun screens out of brass or chip board. i also know you did a view on the MTH DD40ax butcould you do an uptaded reveiw on that and on the Union Pacific M-K-T (KATY) Heritage unit made by MTH or Lionel, im not shure you makes the one have/
Congratulations to Eric on his one millionth awesome engine lol! Another great review and it was nice to learn some history. Thanks. Would be great to see you do the follow-up video on your camera car. Looking forward to buying your new dvd.
Great video Eric! This is a very amazing engine. And very good 1080hd. A powerful engine but This 23 inch long engine is less powerful your your 18.5 inch long MTH sd70ACe. because MTH includes 12 wheel drive it'll out pull Lionel engines twice as long
Awesome review Eric!!! It looks like Lionel did a great job on the DD35A, it looks and sounds great, love the horn! By the way, I finally purchased the materials I need to start my bench work, I can't wait to get my trains off the floor! Of course, as usual my timing is impeccable, I finally start my layout and then Woodland Scenics burns to the ground! Oh well, what are you going to do? Anyways, thanks for the awesome review bro and have a great one!!!
@byates59 I hear ya man. I can't wait to transfer my central carpet railroad to an actual table or bench. But in live in an apartment so I have to make some room.
I'm sure MTH would've taken the time to research this engines history to get each detail right Lionel just wanted to pull a fast one just to get on the market after them not caring to put it out until year after it as mentioned in the catalog, on the other hand the model sounds great. Excellent review as always Eric
i went on to brass trains .com and i got a dd35a with a strobe light and with windo shade get back to me !!!!
