For hard to reach areas you would take the pad off the sander and use it by hand. The process is not to 'buff' in the traditional sense, more to blend and bring up a lustre, which is very achievable by hand. The sander just makes it quicker.

All well and good on a flat piece of wood but where do we go with interior 90 deg. angles with a circular buffer?
