No, he wrecked a lapped car so his teammate Terry Labonte wouldn't catch him for the win- and he was. As for the Richmond incident, Gordon already booted Rusty in '97 at Bristol AND 2 weeks prior in '98 at Charlotte, so don't blame him for a little retaliation. Of course, Jeffy would get his revenge a year later by wrecking Rusty at Loudon. The words pot, kettle and black seem to come to mind here.

Wallace blocked Dale and got himself spun out, Dale wrecked DW because he body slammed him the lap before, and Terry already bumped Dale twice that race before being paid back on the last lap. And you know why Mark was penalized? Because he failed inspection, period. The same rules applied to everyone so stop complaining. Mark's team knew the consequences and simply paid the price for an unfair advantage, deliberate or not.

Before that wreck this was a really good race, there was 2 cautions the whole race prior to the "big one" and both of those were single car accidents, and there were 32 lead changes including people like greg sacks who actually had a good car until Gordon cut down a right rear tire and took out the whole field lol

We started seeing cars like waltrip trying to limp around. I went down to the catch-fence and watched it ride the wall and took pics of his car when it stopped I kept looking down turn 4 to see if my favorite driver Earnhardt made it through but of course, he didnt thanks to Gordon lol. as far as I know this was and still is the biggest wreck in NASCAR history with 23 cars involved. the race from there on out was pretty bland since there was like 7 cars left in the lead pack lol.

I was at this race. my seats were just at the end of the tri-oval and believe me it was hot as hell there. if you have a choice go to the april race at least then it may be 5 degrees cooler lol and it was so bright and sunny, hardly any clouds.anyway we couldnt really see much and it was funny cause were all standing, I dont even know why the have seats at Talladega, theyre never used lol, and all we saw was smoke and then a huge cloud of dirt lol.
