I can't believe how ridiculously trashed Marlin's car got. I think part of the reason Morgan McClure lost their restrictor plate dominance is because they lost all their good cars. This one's a total write-off by far, and wasn't the car destroyed in Earnhardt's 1996 wreck the chassis Marlin won most of his restrictor plate races in?
lol I love how they tried there damnedest to place everyone BUT Gordon for that wreck.. "RICKY CRAVEN DUN IT" NO NO WAIT "JOHN ANDRETTI MOVED OVER AND WRECKED EM". lololol
@kasey9fan Because it actually wasn't Jeff's fault. You try driving a car at 195 mph plus when a tire suddenly blows out. If Gordon can't do it, not many people can.
@JoeytheHDK I never once blamed Gordon for it lol. They obviously didn't see Gordon blow the tire or they wouldn't of tried so hard to blame that incident on Andretti or Craven. I don't doubt Gordon's ability. Anyone that does is an idiot. So nice try.
@MIBFreakPack why would jeff gordon intentionally wreck himself and half the field to have the slim chance of wrecking martin, earnhardt, and jarret? besides, they never give you a good shot of the left side tires. and if there was a puff of smoke, that would be the air releasing out of the tire
@Dalejr88rox I never said he intentionally wrecked himself and half the field.
You gotta look close enough at that shot from the in car of Craven's that you will see a puff of smoke come from the left rear tire and his car veers to the left at that moment.
@nitroboy1212 He had a tire go down, Jeff is a driver who would never cause a crash like that without a reason. In the garage, it was evident a hole was in the tire, and at 190 MPH in a big pack, weird crap happens.
@nitroboy1212 As you clearly know nothing about Nascar, you STFU as true fans know that couldnt would never ever be that stupid, its obvious heh ad a tyre go down.
@KA128183 fuck you, I exaggerated. Get your "damn facts straight" before you go bashing me.. Jr and Kenseth's rookie year was 2000. count it. The fact is that they had nothing to do with this race and I hate it when people bring them up in these old videos.

hey moron, this wreck is why jeff gaydon was able to win the cub that year; he took out all the fucking contenders with this bullshit. jrs way beyond this crybaby bitch as a person
Oh I forgot one, 98 Bristol-what did Gordon do? bump Rusty out of the way?-there is a difference between moving somebody and just taking them out-IE: 98 Richmond-what did Wallace do to Gorden then?
No, he wrecked a lapped car so his teammate Terry Labonte wouldn't catch him for the win- and he was. As for the Richmond incident, Gordon already booted Rusty in '97 at Bristol AND 2 weeks prior in '98 at Charlotte, so don't blame him for a little retaliation. Of course, Jeffy would get his revenge a year later by wrecking Rusty at Loudon. The words pot, kettle and black seem to come to mind here.
No I am not a Gordon fan, but I just cant stand "blind fans" who will belive anything but there own driver that is wrong. In 95' Gordon was involved in that accident but it was Schrader who came down on him. In 96' it was Mark Martin who came up and didnt clear Gordon and triggered that big incident. Dont even get me started on listing the crashes Dale started-or his son for that matter.
No. Gordon even accepted blame in '95because his car got loose and moved up the banking. In '96, Mark was forced high from contact with John Andretti and Gordon unwisely stuck his nose in. Stop making excuses, and I don't recall a single big crash that Dale started.
ok let me tell you some of th crashes dale started he spun rusty wallace in 93 and wallace went fliping thru the infeld he spun dw and front of have the feld at richmond in 1986 he spun terry labonte on the last conner at bristol twice (1995 1999) the list go on and on and that whole thing about excuses you really dont know what your talking about back in 1990mark martin was in the grays areas and dale told nascar and and nascar docked martin 46 points wich costed him the title
Wallace blocked Dale and got himself spun out, Dale wrecked DW because he body slammed him the lap before, and Terry already bumped Dale twice that race before being paid back on the last lap. And you know why Mark was penalized? Because he failed inspection, period. The same rules applied to everyone so stop complaining. Mark's team knew the consequences and simply paid the price for an unfair advantage, deliberate or not.
how come everytime gordon does something stupid, his imbecile fans try to dig-up something dale dr did stupid? stop making excuses and face the facts.
Humm? Sounds like a typical Earnhardt fan-if you watch and listen he had a left rear tire go flat idiot. You dont become a 4-time champ by causing wrecks like this one. You do however become a 7 time champ by taking out others ie: Earnhardt. Not Petty though-he had class.
You mean like the ones he caused in '96 & '95 dega where he spun his own teammate? Btw, Gordon's wrecked plenty for wins before. E.g., 1998 Bristol, 2005 Martinsville, 2006 Chicagoland, and way more than that just for spots. Wipe the sand off your clit and stop bitching just because your pansy ass driver will never be half as good as Earnhardt.
Here's another thing worth considering...had the Chase format been used in 1997, Dale Jarrett would have been champion, having finished in the top three in six of the ten races between the Southern 500 and the final race in Atlanta.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
gordon did not blow a tire. he was trying to do the same thing he did in the daytona 500 earlier in the year.remember the race that earnhardt came back with a wrecked car. look when he spins, all four tires are up!

sorry Gordon blew a left rear tire not a right rear... pretty much every car from 8th on back was some how involved in this wreck lol... and it was cool seeing all the cars coming around some on tow trucks and on the roll backs lol. and you guys shouldve heard the crowd when we all saw Gordon's car on the roll back heading towards the garage. everyone just started cheering and going nuts lol
but Terry Labonte ends up winning the race with his brother Bobby finishing 2nd. Before that wreck this was a really good race, there was 2 cautions the whole race prior to the "big one" and both of those were single car accidents, and there were 32 lead changes including people like greg sacks who actually had a good car until Gordon cut down a right rear tire and took out the whole field lol
We started seeing cars like waltrip trying to limp around. I went down to the catch-fence and watched it ride the wall and took pics of his car when it stopped I kept looking down turn 4 to see if my favorite driver Earnhardt made it through but of course, he didnt thanks to Gordon lol. as far as I know this was and still is the biggest wreck in NASCAR history with 23 cars involved. the race from there on out was pretty bland since there was like 7 cars left in the lead pack lol.
I was at this race. my seats were just at the end of the tri-oval and believe me it was hot as hell there. if you have a choice go to the april race at least then it may be 5 degrees cooler lol and it was so bright and sunny, hardly any clouds.anyway we couldnt really see much and it was funny cause were all standing, I dont even know why the have seats at Talladega, theyre never used lol, and all we saw was smoke and then a huge cloud of dirt lol.
Did anyone else notice how Earnhardt recovered from gettin spun out. looked cool to me

Who the hell is Mark Earnhardt?

I think he was about to say "Martin" when Earnhardt raced by the 6 on pit lane.
