For TD Sandman, you could try saving a star for his dreamland express, take a swing to trigger his my turn, then use the star to duck and counterattack.
I'm convinced it's possible to prevent all 3 dreamland uppercuts with punches of your own, but I've yet to see proof of a human being with good enough timing to pull it off. Esspecially since hitting him delays the next punch.
Soda popski is a real pain just dodge his berserker rush and hooks ok. oh i know this is a N.O.B.C but when fighting opponents like soda, just dodge what I said in the comment.

I'm trying out SMM with the Headgear just for the hell of it. I still don't think he's possible to "win", but maybe I can get to the end of the 3 rounds without getting KO/TKO'd.
I bet TD Soda could be done with the headgear though, although I want to get a decent try at SMM first. TD Macho is likely in the same boat as normal Macho.
TD Bull is doable, but jeez. Maybe Rising Tempest could pull it off since he's got some in-depth experience on that guy.
How the hell do you get the headgear?! I just beat this game 100% (last thing I needed was champion mode DK and I got it). My record is 167/107 (over 100 loses) but I can't find the headgear anywhere! Any help?
You gotta get 100 losses in career mode. After I 100%'d the game on my file, I just made a new one and let my nephews play (and lose) at Soda Popinski a bunch of times, then filled the remaining gap myself. I can only use the headgear during career mode, which is kind of a bummer, but at least it's possible.

Also, TD Hippo is able to be beaten with no dodges or ducking, including the 2 at the start. You can win by decision if you don't break the 2nd strand of tape and just keep going at his face and don't get hit. You'll win by decision.
I think anyone should be able to do normal Soda. I posted a good strat on him on the first video of d00d1690's

The problem with saving stars is his jewel combo. In my vid, I knocked him down twice before he had a chance to use it, but I couldn't win round 3 cause of his un-counterable uppercut (least I think it's unconterable) and then he did his Jewel combo =/.
I still think he might be possible, but a lot of strategies don't work once you knock him down twice.
Hmm. Well, you can hit him in the gut right before the uppercuts he does during the jewel combo (requires good timing). Can't remember if countering all punches gives a star or anything though. Still, that's "unavoidable" damage that you don't take. Also, you CAN use the star to duck under his whirlwind move, that might be something to take into consideration for phase 2.

For contender tiger, you hit him right before he does the uppercut for a star. For TD Tiger, you do it as he's leaning to do the uppercut, since from my experience, trying to counter him right before he does it doesn't work.
So...are you saying you actually can counter him right before he does the uppercut? Reason I have issues is during Phase 3 and jewel combo, he vanishes which makes him skip his leans so I can't counter.
Err, I mean, during the actual jewel combo. You can land hooks before he uppercuts (timing is quite tricky). Not sure about the guillotine punch he randomly throws in though. Anyway, the point is you can avoid taking damage during the earlier (at least) jewel flashy combos.
has anyone noticed that mostly bald bull sounds just like a cow or bull?
