Do your research before you impulse post. I OWN a V10 R8 so let me quickly set you straight;
There is ONE v12 CONCEPT... That means its not mass produced yet.... The v10 R8 is aprox. $170,000 fully loaded, 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds (and as fast as 3.5 seconds by some professionals!). The V12, as announced in the promotional video on youtube, is a "multi-million dollar vehicle" and by the time of its release will be well over $200,000 grand. Audi has unbelievable handling as well; The R8 is superb

I don't know how much the R8 costs, but it's more than likely more expensive than the GTR. Nissan knows how to make an all wheel drive, twin turbo car. It's about time they brought it to the USA!
I would say for the price (GTR sells for approx. $90 grand right?) the GTR is a better deal. But in the end, there are still nicer cars out there that are between the "cheaper substitute" and "unnecessarily extravagant" lines, although those lines are themselves relative to an individuals definition of them; regardless, and although there will ALWAYS be something better, I think the V10 R8 tips the box very well. Yes, you can get speed for cheap, but why waste money on a "poor man's version?"

According to independent tests, Nissan is slower than Ferrari 599 and Scuderia and also at circuit Audi loses 1 second per 1 minute to Nissan GTR. So it should be about 7 seconds slower on Nurburgring.
7:29 was achieved by cheating and the time was made by NISSAN!!!!
8:04 was just one lap attempt by a journalist not pushing the car hard. From other independent tests, it seems that if both cars were tested on ring under same conditions, the R8 would be 8 - 12 seconds slower.
For example, Nissan could possibly achieve 7:38 while Audi 7:47 - that represents the real performance.

I don't really understand your last point... Maybe you got that backwards? And where do you get this "waiting list" information from there is no waiting list for an ugly car. It will kinda just sit there in the lot and kids will drive by and be like "wow thats a sick car!" But sadly no one will dish out 70k on the car so that it actually can be driven. I like both the GTR and R8 but using your flawed logic: If the GTR (existed as a skyline for years before the G37 came about) is a juiced up G37, then the R8 is just a juiced up Audi TT (existed before the R8, therefore more plausible). I'm a real gear head with brains. Take a seat.
