NATO/Afghan SF were running around in that area shortly before the operation started, mixing it up by terrorizing the Taliban.

The foot troops are in place to enforce the policies that come down the line and then have to clean up areas affected after others run around the country side instigating fights.

An Afghan man, when meeting someone new will have a smile on their face, a hand out to welcome them and a knife ready to kill them if or when it is appropriate(first they get permission).

The US Marines gear was good and lightwear during ww2 just jacket,pants,ammosuspenders,ri­fle,helmet,and bag not those clunky ass rucksack and ammo holders.Its too much weight thier in Afghanistan thier gonna be on mountainus terrain and elevated areas and there gonna be with heavy clucnk gear on

I hate it when I see the US Military with that sloppy lopp sided gear and its all clunky and disorganized looking and the gear looks way heavy looks like they can barely walk and how are they gonna run,fight,etc with all that gear especially if thier in Afghanistan.But why cant they just carry thier helmet,acu(idk the marine name for it),pants,vest with ammo pouches on it,thier rifle,an Assault Pack which is a perfect size (but only for combat),and a Knife and a etool or something of that sort.
