Ok people. Lets clear something up. Everyone who's saying "oh i can do that whats so hard about it" does not understand that it is really hard to do on a cyclocross bike. Anyone can easily bunny hop on a bmx bike, but it isnt so easy on a 'cross bike. Believe me. This is coming from someone that does both cyclocross AND bmx (and road cycling), and has bunny hopped cyclocross barriers before.
@super6cycing I think more importantly its probably really freaking difficult to do this while really tired in a race. I free ride and road cycle and recently rode a cycle cross bike for the first time. I bunny hopped onto those concrete slab benches on my second try.
@stjmitchell1 i ride all mountain and commute on a road bike, when i tested out a Kona, Jake the Snake i was surprised how durable it was and how well the 700c wheels rolled over roots and shit, if the seat isn't jacked all the way up, its no harder to ride than a HT... they put the cross barriers to close together to hop over nowadays. three of them, about 3 feet apart... a good trials rider could probably clean it tho
what race is this? those are road bikes right? any how thats real commitment!! Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. this video remind me of it! I loved it! you should check it out!! facebook. com/discoverthegift
@amtsr30 It's really hard on a road bike. You get the front wheel up and jump, lifting the bike by throwing your weight forward to keep your feet on the pedals. If you do it right, you can do it with platform pedals.
@drbroccoli actually it´s fairly easy on a roadbike cause the frame is relatively short, its lightweight and you have clickies... the high seat is relatively high , though, but it works.... so if you are not supposed to jumplike 1 meter high a skilled mountainbiker should be able to perform a real bunnyhop on a roadbike aswell :)
I am just getting into CX this year, and I am building my own bike right now. It is a big brand name bike, and i am not sure what type of shoe and pedals to get. Any ideas? thnx
Problem I see with bunnyhopping in cyclocross (and I have no experience in it) is it saves you a few seconds, but that one time you f' up and don't make it, you lose sooo much time, possibly any chance at winning if you screw up your bike.
why are there road bikes in dirt?

@super6cycing I'd honestly love to see one of these BMX kids do a bunny hop in a road bike while clipped in.

My road bike ways so little compared to my mountain bike, it wouldn't be that hard doing a bunny hop especially If you have clipless pedals.
