"What?! That's that fair! What am I supposed to do?!"

Example:Troll killing you when you did what he wanted. Attempting to incorrectly kill a monster. Etc.

"Hmm, I guess I should've seen THAT coming..."

Example:Crossing the bridge without killing the troll, taking an item guarded by a monster, etc.

I just envisioned right now a very very deep & awesome new modern rendition of this game in my mind. If only I follow that passion for gaming in an industrial sense, I could make these creative whims about the Castle Shadowgate real. I wish I could apply the imageries to a remake, one that would be xcellent. It would most likely be a 3D natured game, but of course w/ all the puzzles, forethought, limitations, depth, & focus of the 2D realm. I wish this could be real in a sense; I'll think on it.

Man the hero in this game is an idiot because in Uninvited (Another game of which the hero is no smarter than the one in this game) they give you a good reason on why an axe or knife would kill you but in this game he just commits suicide.

There are two deaths that aren't in this video:

1: When you freeze the pool of water with your sphere and use your torch(es) on it, you'll die.

2: In the room with the fire drake, after you extinguished the flames with the sphere, relight them with your torch (use it on the brown spot) and you burn to death.

Otherwise, it's quite a comprehensive compilation of deaths, which deserves 5 stars.

There's actually another death with the chained lady that transforms into a wolf even after you use the arrow...It's still possible for her to kill you.

It's been a while but I'll never forget actually solving that puzzle and still dying from it. :P

PROTIP: after killing the werewolf, hold your torch next to it.  Even though it's dead, it will still pounce on you and kill you.

I apologize for my repeated posting. However, I think there is one death you may want to include.

It doesn't necessarily kill you, but you get a special short message if you use the sphere on one of your torches. If that's your only lit torch, you get the "your torches went out" death.

In a way, this makes more sense than on ground. Falling from the rope? Based on how high you go, maybe you could die from falling face first on the rope. The outstreched arms? ON A ROPE! Unless your hanging on with your knees, no wonder he fell.

I got the idea for the lightning death from Nintendo Power's review for Shadowgate on GBC. They were making a snappy remark about the area where you place the rod in a hole on a balcony to get a key from a ghastly white hand. The comment was, and I quote from memory, "If you don't want your suit of armor to become a pressure cooker, then you need to find a way to redirect lightning."
