  • That is their first long (almost 6 minutes/??) song, right???

  • Ok Who's the numbnuts that pressed the dislike button? Everyone, AFTER HIMMMMM!!!!!!

  • won't fuckin load

  • 4:56 what WONderfull guitar solo!!

  • Why did he say "Deacon John" rather than John Deacon? "Deacon John" is the same as saying Father (or Priest) John. Was this reversal intentional? Or did the announcer think John was a Deacon???

  • @DarksideZodiac About the time of the first album he was using Deacon John, but soon switched back to his real name, John Deacon.

  • the complete name of FREDDIE MERCURY is Farrokh Bommi Bulsara

very persian just as his eyes

  • @androgineharlequin Bomi is Freddie's father. And his second name is really Bomi? Are your sure?

  • You are all in big mistake. This is NOT a first performance. A absolutely first Queen gig with Mike Grose on base, was in: "27.06.1970 - UK - Truro - City Hall". First Queen gig with John Deacon on base was in: "02.07.1971 - UK - Surrey - College".

  • bass

  • Yea, sorry, Im not good in english xD

  • No, Freddie doesn't have a middle name. When he was teenager, he was named Farrkoh Bulsara, later he changed name on Freddie. In 1970 changed surname from Bulsara to Mercury.

  • This is not their first performance. They played Ogre Battle that was recorded for "the new album". The new album he is referring to is Queen II from1974. They obviously played concerts before recording Ogre Battle.

  • what??? what kind of stuff?!!!!

  • please share :-)

  • I've been on the lookout for some early Queen. you have any video?

  • ther first time of queen is awersome!!!!!

  • Guys: this stuff is available on Pirate Bay. Look for Queen will be crowned

  • this is the stuff !!!!! long live the Queen

  • this version kicks ass

  • The band credited John Deacon as "Deacon John" on the first album because they thought it made him sound more cool. By the next album though, he had got his own way and had his name changed back.

  • interesting...

    hmmmm let see

freddie: yo! deacon lets get some beer!!!

    yeah it sounds kinda cool.

  • This is what I listened to when my little daughter was born...That's why she's so cool!!

  • really???

    cool!!!!

    interesting story XD

  • queen first performance was in 1971 (with john dacon on bass guitar)

  • rly??

    well thanks man!!

    and thx 4 watchin

  • Its great this mate but its not their first performance they performed with Deacon in 1971 and with numerous other bassists throughout 1970

  • well this was the first recorded performance from queen

  • neither,exist more queen recordings...

as live at marquee club 1972... and more in the archives of the band ;)

  • sounds so heavy

  • Sweet post!

    Thanks

    Queen Rocks!

  • Great bass line!

  • so heavy

  • the start of a great band queen with luv

  • great vocals in this but by God the band is just thunderous in this performance! its amazing!

  • Deacon John on bass...;-)

Man, they're all in GREAT form here!!

  • Hahahahahahahahaha!

    Awesome!

  • LOL You didn't know John was in the priesthood at same time he was in the band? He even sprinkled holy water to bless the fans after the show!

I'm just kidding, the record company made a grammar error on the press kits and album liner notes.

  • Actually, the other members of Queen wanted to label him as "Deacon John" because they thought it was more interesting.

  • Hey fellow Queen fans, check out my youtube video of Queen live at the Hippodrome 1973. It has incredible sound for the year, but unfortunately it's only audio. I think it is still worth checking out.

  • just a thought...kinda interesting how in this performance of big spender he says "man of distinction", while in all the others he kind of slurs it or says woman

i kind of think it's because in this they were kind of an unknown band, and so freddie saying a line that could sound gay wouldn't be such a big deal, but once they were popular they would have been really sort of gossiped about and such, so they didnt perform that line.

either way, splendid performance! thank you so much for uploading!

  • could very well be!

  • wow buena calidad de audio!!!!

    Queen the best

  • OMG pense q era una equivocacion cuando lei q era de 1973 la presentacion pero es real. Es un aporte maestro muy bueno. gracias

  • Queen Live at Golden Greers Hippodrome

  • Soberbio. Excelente material, camionero. Saludos

  • Stefano y vos?

  • antonio

    mucho gusto :)

  • greeeeeatttttttttttttttttttt

  • Deacon John???? =D JOHN DEACON!! :D

  • they decided to call him like that in the first two albums because roger and freddie thought it was a cooler name, lol!in the third album his name is john deacon again haha

  • it was only Queen 1 that he was listed as Deacon John. Before he complained that he didn't like it and they changed it for Queen II. I don't see how he would let them do it for the first one in the first place though!

  • He let because he was the new boy, and he didn´t want to raised trouble.

  • raise*

  • This is superb I think they should've released Liar back in 73 as a single. Does anyone have any live early 70's footage of The Seven Seas Of Rhye as well.

  • liar was a single in 1974

  • beautiful

  • I wish people would stop saying "Freddie Merucry on vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums, John Deacon on bass". Brian and Roger also sang vocals, mention that too.

  • i really like the early queen sound!!!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. Greatness to have finaly heard this.

  • hey!!!

    you`re welcome :)

    thanks 4 watching :)

  • this is really really rare performance..Godbless to Camionero..thanks

  • Camionero, you've should been wrote, that this is the first performance of Queen, which exist(for now...). It's from Golders Green 73 and QP has Marquee 72 at their archives(and not only).

  • wow!!!

thanks 4 the info man :)

    I.O.U 1

  • No problem! By the way, this performance is great!!!I've got a feeling, that vocal of Freddie is around too quiet...Someone has done a bad mixing, I think.

  • Er... not first performance but oldest known recording of a performance. Just semantics but thought I'd mention.

  • lol.

When the guy says Deacon John, Freddie says in the background, "It's JOHN Deacon!"

  • Deacon John. ROFL!

  • come godo cazzo!! questo è vero rock

  • From Heavens!

  • this is music from the gods

  • Totally agreed! Music from gods!

  • just a word: MAGIC!

  • This wasn't the first performance, it was the first professionally recorded performance, 13.09.1973 Golders Green Hippodrome, London

  • oh, thanks 4 the info

  • that's ok, are you a trader of Queen recordings? no usual fan has this concert.

  • i dont think so cos i havent shared this with friends.

but if u want it just let me know

  • i have it myself, but thanks anyway - nice to see interesting videos on Youtube, instead of just slideshows, granted, this one is just one pic all the way through, but ppl dont usually get to hear stuff like this unless they are collectors.

  • hmmmm

i have 3 shirts of queen,4 dvd`s, 3 posters and my fish name is freddie.

im a super fan but not a collector cos i dont have many rare queen stuff like you.

  • Ah, not to intrude or anything....but can you give me the recording for this? I've been looking for queen recordings with little luck.

    Thanks!:)

  • The first three Queen recordings are among my favorite all time R&R performances.

  • uhm... many people never heard of Queen, however they're the awesomest band on this crazy world!! Freddie!!!! :-(

  • Wahnsinn! Danke! Geil!!!

  • dear! how can you not have heard of Queen? well now that you know you'll hopefully learn to love them then!

  • they are good wow i guess they have really loyal fans because everyone is bombarding me with negative comments.

lol all i said is i have never heard them before i don't know how that offends anyone or makes me an idiot??????? =) thnx 4 not being immature about it. =P

  • welcome^^ i don't know why they are mean... you just haven't heard of them, it's not like you said bad stuff about them. well i hope you hear more of Queen's awsome songs!(in other words all of them lol)
