when i restore my ipod touch i press shift, restore and it starts extracting, but further down the restoring ipod part it stops and tells me that my ipod can't be restored! why, why, this always happens when i try to use any firmware. also im using itunes 8.2, used to have 9, ipod touch 2g 3.1.2 (7d11) is my firmware, ive'e tried jailbreaking but it doesn't work.HELP HELP HELP HELP meeeeee!!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN! Seriously, your firmware was the ONLY one I found that actually worked! that and your instructions was totally clear!
Though I have to disagree on the fact that 3.0 isn't very good. If you're going to jailbreak it, your wasting time and possibly money. But if you aren't planning on jailbreaking, the copy-paste and landscape keybnoard make it worth it.

Schoolglue? Do you have vista or windows 7? You can't downgrade from os 3.x to os 2.x in vista, for some strange reason.
