  • Here is one thing I never understood about hollywood. you watch all thiese war movies/TV shows you see all thiese older guys with serious weathered faces. Its not like that in real life, a whole lotta young adults and older kids. Who all still wear there youth in there features.

  • If anything it did this song Jusitce...they taught the shit to some school in early grade school...THIS is WAY better.....

  • The song's great, but am I the only one who thinks the vocals shouldn't be so muted?

  • Protip: If you like the original better, go listen to it.

Protip #2: If you like this version, but not the video, minimize the window.

  • not to be crass, but let's go back in a time machine to '71 and see the film Billy Jack, an anti war film about a Special Forces soldier who returns to the U.S. and hates war and wants peace, but no one in authority will let him have it.

Triple tempo of of One Tin Soldier does not add significantly to Band of Brothers, which is a autobiographical book written by their unit commander, a whole different message about war, and survival through one. I think it was a mistake to combo in this way.

  • Not that facts mean anything but this was a great anti-war song from a great anti-war movie, Billy Jack--something that the makers of "Band of Brothers" have no regard for.

In other words, another great anti-war song ripped out of context and misused.

  • ahah, nice-o : D

  • Love the song.

    But don't like the video.

  • This show is awesome and so is this video. I love both the show and the song, you did a great job with this. Very well done.

  • ah this terrible the origanal is better than this peice off crap

  • @superki52 The only thing terrible here is your grammar.

  • Lol you misspelled "peace on earth" you fool

  • Stop overthinking the song. It's about a fictional kingdom where the village folk want the kingdom's treasure, they then kill the kingdom's population for the reasure and find the treasure is just 'piece on earth' written on a rock.

    It's as simple as that.

  • first of all, a three sentence summary of a song can't even be considered under-thinking because it isn't thinking at all. it's just stating the obvious. the song does indeed have meaning. you obviously just can't comprehend that fact.

also, you used piece instead of peace. what are you, 10?

  • Listen to the song, you retard.

  • @The505Guys I am sure that "overthinking" is not something you are ever guilty of.

  • i love this song we had to do it in school and we got to hear it this way it was so awesome

  • ya seriouly listen to the orignal

  • I think you are missing the point of the song.

  • haha yeah but still its a cool vid

  • the song and the series dont mix. they are both fine on their own

  • well put together. i think for one scene of when "one tin soldier rides away" you should've had the kraut riding away on his horse then getting shot

  • i've known this song for years, i listened to the original version first, it wasnt usually my style, which is why when i found this song a few years ago i was estatic! i love this kind of music aswell as the lyrics

  • Not to a bad song as far as representing an ideology. But its misrepresentative as far as a nation, its people, its military and a cause to prevent mass genocide and other atrocities. It doesnt fit current nor recent history. Its a shame to portray it as anything more or less than the song its self implies.

  • Good point even if your history is about 10 lightyears off. No country entered the war to help the Jews. In fact it was Germany and Italy whom declared war on The United States and not the other way around. The Allied leader ship didn't do a thing to help the Jews even when they found out about the atrosites commited by the Germans.

  • Definitely not my favourite version, but it's a good one for a more modern vibe on the song.

  • Hmm...I'd prefer Coven's version for this montage...

  • My momused to sing this to me when I was little Cept's It was More Peaceful. I like this song alot I like this one better and now I have to go learn it on the drums

  • love the series... but this version of the song is a travesty

  • it's a cool sound, but it's just not right for the song. i'm used to this in very hippy contexts, slow and everyone swaying together, not electric guitars and my sub working overtime...

    the song itself is beautiful.

  • We are doing this song for choir at my school and like its reallly slow this is ODD.

  • sort of ironic that a song all about PEACE ON EARTH has so many trolls fighting in it's comments... come on guys, grow up.

  • this song is trying to get a point across to the LISTENER, I think its a good thing its message is being musically reinterpreted for another generation. i hope they LISTEN to the words and maybe get the point.

  • this is tom c who is unthin king i was thar ass

  • love it tom c

  • I SAY LOVE this for the MESSAGE-Forget

    The Style,/Category-Type,etc.I respect

this & its GREAT & TRUE-Listen up, hey

It's about what we NEED-SPIRIT-LIGHT-PEACE-& LOTS OF LOVE*-*-*-*-*-*-*

  • Most artists will tell you, anytime another artists takes there song and does it there way.. its a tribute.. There is nothing wrong with the remake of "One Tin Soldier" But before you really comment on it. Make sure you have seen the movie..

  • Suprizing how many people dont know about the movie and thats abig loss for them...

  • I was so impressed with the movie.. I flew to Prescott AZ where most of the Movie was filmed. The Palace Bar is still there, the park with the fountains. and even the soda ice cream store is still there. its a burger place now. but all still the same.

  • This is by far and away the best version of the song; it is awesome as punk.

  • The original version of this song compares unfavorably with this song; there's nothing inherently violent about punk rock, and hey, country music these days seems to be all about killing muslims, amirite? :P More seriously, quit whining; this is an awesome version of the song, and if you don't like it, don't listen.

  • I fail to see how speeding up the tempo of the song is disrespectful to the meaning.

  • Are you a fucking dumbass? The punk mentality is to fight for a cause. Nonviolence and ending holy wars is totally a punk cause, therefore this song is excellent as punk. Just because you don't like a genre doesn't mean you're right.

  • dosent mean im a fucking dumbass either!!! this song is a balled..but i am someone who gets very upset when someone calls me a fucking dumbass.why dont u send me ur address & ill be glad to tavel & show u what its like to get ur FUCKING DUMBASS kicked.have a nice day

  • Dude grow up and try to learn your shit before you talk in public. Why don't you just do the future generations a favor and kill yourself before you pass on your ignorance and general stupidity.

  • who THE FUCK invited you?????are you a ( future ) generation kind of guy?? one who knows nothing but is ready to fight about it?? with all that hate & no cause for it?? at least my generation had cause for rebellion & SHIT remakes of great songs like this is NOT PERMISSABLE !!!!!

  • Ya you know I am not realy fealing this verson. Eather way One Tin Soldier is still a kick butt song. I am new to the whole makeing video thing so I can't complane.

  • godly video

  • Next time speed it up,how about the pace of a M-60 machinegun....love band of brothers

  • is that bruce willis on 00:55/01:59???

  • no it is not, looks a little like him.

  • i watch d@ show :S

  • This song is so fuckin awesome my Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies!!! and this vid is not the actual vid for this version of the song

  • This really sucks cuz it takes away from the meaning of the song. It lacks feeling as the original does.

  • yeah ok

  • Hehe, definitely - it's meant as a tribute to "the man on the ground" - not as a statement of peace-loving, nor at the system they served in - but to the effort made by the individual soldiers standing up as one unit.

  • Nice...very nice. Hope it's a tribute to those that serve/served. Growing tired of the peace whining hippies.

  • lose a child or a brother in action or a comrade such as i did and then get back to me till then stfu or join the military then you can have to right to call ppl peace whining hippies if thats the way u still feel and dont bother maken up some story that u were in military or youve lost ppl in the military cause ur a liar flat out Ok thnx buh bye now fagmo mcdouche tip!!!

  • wow it's people like you that bring war upon us if everybody truly wanted peace than your friend would be here and so would my brother so if you want more people to feel like you than i pity what you will become in life.

  • i LOVE this song.

I can't decide whether i like the peter paul & Mary version better.

ANYWAY. Great job with this video.

  • very cool video

    5/5

  • song reminds me of "puff the magic dragon". cool vid

  • I really liked this! I love the beat to the 40ies images. And the editing is perfect, very fairytale-ish. More, please. :)

  • two thumbs up XD
