the quality of this camera is really very good. in soon (next month) i´ll buy mine. i also use sony vegas 8. (Marco, from Brazil)

Hey dude, I'm really interested in this camera because of the recording capabilities. Is it worth it to buy it focusing on that feature? Does it have manual and auto focus option while recording? Does it record on 720p or 1080p?

I bought this just for recording videos. I does an awesome job for my use. It won't do any focusing at all while shooting though. It will only go as high as 720p wide. Everthing else is standard def.

That's a good question. I went to Sony Creative Software and compared the different titles and went for the one that fit my needs. I think the pro 8 you're talking about has unlimited audio tracks. this one only allows 4. The pro 9 suite has unlimited tracks as well.

great now I feel like gamblin, thanks a lot bro! when ever you move the camera to fast it gets somewhat blurry. Also at 1:19 when the cars are moving it's blurry. the moving cars that is. when things are very still the picture looks great.Dose that camera have a built in stabilizer.

Yes it does have it. I think it's only for taking pictures.
I noticed the choppy motion too. I think I have to play around w/ the settings in my editing software to help fix it.

when you play it back on the camera is it noticeable.

I went back & looked at the raw footage in in quictime and saw little motion lag compared to how it's posted here.

Yeah, something between the raw footage and uploading to YT is causing the motion lag. I also shoot at 30fps and upload to YT at 29.97fps. I let my editing program do the conversion. Sony Vegas Movie. However I haven't shot any moving vehicles so I can't say if I would also have the same problem.

I can work w/ the raw video fm my camera(no publishing to PC fm camera). Just edit, render as an MPEG-4 & upload 2 youtube.
Using the Upload to youtube from inside the program cuts it back to SD-Widescreen so I didn't use that to make this.
