This was a horrible decision on the theatre companies part to put on a show that they don't have the talent for. A Chorus Line is a dance show, no if's and's or but's. Now i'm not saying that there is no talent in this video, but to be honest it's easier to cast a show with 3 or 4 leads who can sing and act well than it is to cast 17 who can sing dance AND act well. This company needs to pick shows that will enhance the company name, too many companies are going under due to poor decisions....

@slickqfoo22 this is my video but my account got suspended for no reason... anyways, it's a non-profit community theatre not a theatre company. We really don't care what shows we do as long as we have fun doing them. I haven't done a show there since this one, but they're still very successful

If the "non-profit" has a name, then it's a theatre company. The fact that you "really don't care what shows we do as long as we have fun doing them," is not the point of my earlier post. Non-profit or professional, never do a show when you don't have the talent to pull it off or it will be horrible like this 1

I played Bobby. We weren't all trained dancers but some people had incredible voices or awesome acting ability. Exposing yourself for others to criticize you is incredibly brave. Oh! I forgor - it was so much fun!

I did this show about twenty years ago.  I have to applaud these guys for their effort. Yes, this is a show about a dance audition, but I am sure they knew they were going to get alot of criticism for the lack of choreography. They get an "A" for putting themselves out there.

wow, this is really bad. they need to move around and some people aren't hitting the right notes. The only person that really makes this number is Richie. Everyone else looks and sounds like they really don't want to be there. Not worth watching at all.

ok who wrote the description for this video? the only time richie mentions anything about race in the entire show is in his opening monologue when he says "...and i'm black." Give me the ball tells how richie was a star athlete, got a scholarship to college because of it and came to realization that after college was the real world and it scared him. i mean damn he says it exactly in the lyrics. it's not as complex as everyone thinks. It's simple, to the point and relatable.

@slickqfoo22 I did. It's what our director felt was true. It was the 70s, being african american definitely had a huge something to do with Richie's scholarship. Yes it was for athletics, but he's talking about how his race helped. The reason he says "I'm black" at the top of the show is because he knows that race helps get him ahead.

i played don in london proffessionally, but i have seen ameteur productions of this show several times before and this is one of the worst. choreography would have really helped this.

You're right that there isn't a rule, but in a show that is known world wide for it's dancing and is about a dancing chorus auditioning for broadway, there should be dancing! it's like doing the lion king without people dressed as the animals, it's a given! oh and freestyling and a few grapevine steps hardly counts as choreography, even for childrens theatre.

UUUMMMM.......im doing the show naw and....ummm..... that WASN'T very good!!!!! The lack of dancing is SHOCKING and Richie's voice was 'ouch'! Lack of energy but i'll take that with a pinch of salt as the video quality isn't good. :( :(
