I grew up on the Gap Band and Teddy Pendergrass and Rick James.I discovered rock and roll for good in 1980.But this woman is the real thing when it comes to this type of country.I saw her at the Saddle Rack in San Jose in the early 90's.And then the Pleasanton Fairgrounds. And then with Vince Gill at the Oracle in Oakland.I dig her.Always have.
Patty is the number ONE female country artist ever--I'd put her body of work against anyone's. I know , I have every one of her albums and some twice cause I wore the first one out!
Well I did my share to make her successful. I have all of her albumns, saw her nine times in concert, and still can't get enough of her. She is number one all time in my book and if you go thru and listen to these songs and watch her performances in videos and shows you will see she is truly great.
I finally figured out why all men fall in love with Patty. She is the voice, the smile, the good looks and the personality of all the women we ever wanted.
I agree and it's stated as such that she wasn't marketed well. At the time Mary Capenter, Trisha and Kathy at times just overshadowed her. IMO Patty can sing as good and really better than all of them. She certainly had the purest voice. However with Patty's looks and sincere personality, she should have wiped the floor with all of those...Course I'm a man. Carpenter won over her so many times and I never got it.
Politics and marketing no doubt. Pattys top 5 best female singers of all time.
Patty is such a sweetheart. The voice of an angel and the only other female vocalist I'd put in her category is Alison Kraus. Patty is in her 50's or close to it and her voice has only gotten better. And she's still a baby doll. She's destined to be a hall of famer!

This is true country. Great duo without any gimmicks. Miss it a lot.

i have no idea why patty's albums don't all go platinum.
whoever does/did her marketing should be fired.
she sounds more country than 95 percent of what's out there today.
seems like it's always the kentucky girls that sound the most "country"
