Nice, I just made my own wooden slingshot, cut via powerdrill, saw and carved, smoothed myself out of wood. It's somewhat accurate, but this looks even better. I'm going to try this!! Great vid Joerg!

@JoergSprave I do love your vid's, there great! But at that temperature in the oven wouldn't that cause the galvanized metal to give off very very harmful gas? I know that the gas is very bad for you and many people actually die of so called "metal poisoning" if you weld it of heat it up with say a torch or just a propane blow torch. (with galvanized metal)

The idea is good, but without ball bearings, the self centering only works with weak bands. Otherwise the friction will lock the mechanism.

Hey, ive got the tube now but now i need the sugical tubing , does the colour of the elastic depend on the level of resistance? If so, does that mean that a band with a high level of resistance mean that it is stronger?

Yes. I recommend the yellow type. If you want it stronger, red may work. Green is pretty much the limit for this "looped" setup. Also, the stronger the bands, the heavier the ammo must be. If you don't plan on using big lead balls (over .60"), then stick with the yellow type.

You can find the rubber on ebay, search for "Thera Tube Yellow". Or you can buy it in shops that sell orthopedic/therapeutical stuff.

You don't have to use the rectangular metal tube, a nice piece of flat steel will do, or even round steel tubes. But a good hardware store should have the stuff in stock. If not - ebay.

Not really. You need a lathe and welding gear to make the "V", and the people that have the equipment + skills would know how to make it just by watching the videos I already have uploaded.

it works well if you use a wood rectangular prism insted of aliminum...all you have to do is un screw the handle put on clay...put in oven then re screw it on BTW thanks XD
