Was this mid 80s? There were only a handful of guitarists of that era that were that fast and straight picking. I can think of many now, but in the 80s? Gotta make a list.
A talented shredder, no doubt about it, but if he had that kind fo dedication to his sonwwriting, perhaps VVI would have been more than a minor footnote in the history of 80's metal bands.
Playing fast does not make you a good guitarist. Wheres the feel, the emotion??? Gary Moore can play fast and shred but do you see him doing it all the way through one of his solos, no.

All I have to say is 'Wow' to think that Vinnie could just pick up the guitar and play like that without missing a note. This is some of the cleanest playing I've ver heard.
