Always been a big Neil Young fan. In 2001, I was 22 and planting trees in northern Ontario. It was a very tough and crazy job. One cloudy day, travelling between camps on a school bus packed with other treeplanters, we passed a town sign that said, 'Blind River', the same Blind River Neil is referring to in this song. The line went through my head, 'It was back in Blind River, in 1962', as I turned and watched the sign flash by. That memory is sealed in my mind forever. Thanks, Neil.
@KSK466 This isn't to rednecks and Dale, this song was long before that inbred was ever famous. Don't bring the song down, and just go back to your spittoon.
My father and his best friend, Jay Myers would always listen to this all the time whenever they would get home from school when they were in 8th grade.

I dedicate this song to my first car, a 1981 Camaro that ran for so many years. Loved that car and I love this song! Thanks for posting.

This song was actually about his first car ;)
- read about it in a biography,
like when he says, "with your chrome heart shining in the sun, long may you run" .

I first saw Neil Young & Crazy Horse at a little bar in Georgetown, Washington DC in 1969. The music was excellent then and it still is.
