@Origamiking123 It's camtasia, it's not free. Normally it generates much more impressive results. Too much zooming, and we didn't need the typing sounds. The clicks are ok.
As a prolific DarkBASIC and C++ coder,I will admit that C++ is more powerful than DarkBASIC,DB is much easier to learn than C++ and it only costs 40 bucks for a full license, while software like Virtools and 3ds max that use C++ cost alot of money, sure you could just download a copy and crack it,but you could never publish your games without getting your ass sued by Autodesk.
@ryandardis If you're a hobby programmer (and if you're using DBP you most likely are), then you're most likely not going to be using any Autodesk programs as they're much too complicated for a hobby programmer to use quickly, efficiently and effectively. You're better off using something like Blender or even simpler Milkshape3D.
If you're in it for the money, you won't want to use DBP either. You'll be better off using Unity 3D.
Center Text Screen Width()/2, Screen Height()/2, "X" If ShowSpawnInfo D3D_StartText For i = 0 to Array Count( SpawnableObj() ) If SpawnableObj(i).Used If Object in screen( SpawnableObj(i).ObjNum ) X# = Object Screen X( SpawnableObj(i).ObjNum ) Y# = Object Screen Y( SpawnableObj(i).ObjNum ) Center Text X#, Y#-40, "-= SPAWNABLE =-" Center Text X#, Y#-30, "ObjNum = "+Str$( SpawnableObj(i).ObjNum ) Etc. Etc. You don't call THAT programming? Hah! Stupid tool!
Can this be done on Windows XP or does all this have to be done in Vista? Also, does the Program come with a comprehensible tutorial? This looks like an awful lot of parameters to learn. But the results are amazing!!
This video was made on xp so yes It can. Yes the program comes with LOADS of tutorials, along with two volume books (in pdf format), this language is very simple trust me, easy as to make games, and it is on the BASIC Platform. Good day to you :D
@NickyReviews i have the same problem could you tell me if you get a answer

That said, DBP is fun and gives you fast results.

HAHAHA real coding? DarkBasic is so much simpler than C++, thats REAL coding.
Ibly31 3 years ago
because c++ is more advanced, it doesn't mean dark basic isn't real coding. :)
Srn90 2 years ago 5
Agreed. Plus, C# is unofficially the new c++.
SethiXzon 2 years ago
You've got to be kidding me, C++ less powerful than a language that is basically basic platform? -_-
Zipstacracksta 2 years ago
That's what it's been recognized as. Unofficially. But C# IS pretty powerful too.

does dark basic care about whitespace A.K.A gaps between lines
tuddersrct3 3 years ago
Nope, not one bit.
Zipstacracksta 3 years ago
thanks for that. i know c++ and i like the fact c++ dont care about white space because you can lay your code out how you like it.

Liky Why dont we just write " YROTATE OBJECT 1,OBJECT ANGLE Y(1)+0.2 LOOP "
TO be honest i tried to write what you did, but, it didnt worked, i got a parameter error.
And this Yrotate Worked.

Make sure you imported the media correctly, and moved Earth.bmp into your project directory.

Thanks, you were right. I didn't name my image Earth.bmp.

What tool did you use to capture the screen?
rvanner 3 years ago
Hey Rick, I used Camtasia Studio 5
Zipstacracksta 3 years ago
Thanks Zipstacracksta for the info. I liked the way it zoomed in on the "action". I'll invest in a copy soon.
rvanner 3 years ago
No problem, Its a bit of a pain having to pause every time you want to zoom in, but its worth it for a good tutorial.
