lol damn, tons of little guys and stumbled on an 8lb kicker. imagine if you'd have gotten on some better fish and could've culled some of those 2lbers out! 20+ without a doubt.
Do you think the Bass that you just let go will hang in that area now? Or will they move back to the area that they wee caught? Just wondering what you think about that?
@BillGoudy released fish will generally hang around for a few days and then stage their way back towards where they were caught. that's why many times you see guys tournament fish close to release areas if there were weeknighters or other tournaments within the last week. eventually though, the fish will move back towards where they came from. fish actually migrate during the year regardless of whether they're caught or not due to spawn, shad spawn, and seasonal temp changes for example
@swburton316 This is good to know! I don't fish tournaments, but I have fished in areas after the tournaments and have noticed increased fish activity, But could have been just a good day. How about in a river with dams. In our area they will fish the pool to the north and south and then release the fish in our pool. Then this happens in the next pool etc. Are the fish still trying to get back or do you think they will just adjust to the new area?
@BillGoudy i don't really know how that would work in rivers with dams, but my guess is that the fish would adapt to the new pool due to the physical barrier of the dam to getting back to the pool they came from. I'm not sure if any studies have been done on it either. might be worth checking out though.
Nice kickerr

@BillGoudy no this is a chain, so the fish were caught in another lake then the ones released, i think the same, no one really knows actually
